IPod is not working after being formatted and restored.

This isn't the first time this has happened to my iPod classic. In a span of about 5 months, I've visited the Genius Bar, and one has been replaced under warranty. Now, the newly replaced one has suffered the same things that the old iPod has experienced. One day, as I was syncing new music, iTunes suddenly froze and had to abort the sync, making me eject the iPod without the sync completing. So, iTunes deleted all of my data (music, photos, videos, etc.). Now, each time I plugged in my iPod following that, iTunes had always frozen, and did not let me access the Devices tab and restore my iPod. Then, having a PC, I formatted it to its default settings, seeing that my computer recognized the iPod and iTunes did not. A pop-up box came up saying if I wanted to fix the problem on the iPod, and I prompted to do so. It completed, and it said my iPod was fully functional. Soon after, it was recognized by iTunes again, and said that it had corrupted files and needed to be restored, seeing that the iPod was under the Devices tab once again. I did so, the restoration was completed, and iTunes said that once after the iPod restarted, it would appear once again under the Devices tab. But, however, it did not appear, after leaving it plugged in for about 5 minutes. iTunes froze again, and now the process begins all over again.
I have fully updated my iTunes, and I am using an HP Pavillion Notebook, under Windows 7.
I need help. I don't want to go back to make a reservation at the Genius Bar since the iPod is no longer under warranty, and perhaps I can fix it on my own. Will they  be able to fix it under no charge? What should I do?

Also, if I eject it from the folder where all Devices are on my computer, the iPod restarts, and the restoration process on iTunes starts all over again.

  • Why is my iphone 4 suddenly not working after being forced to "restore to iTunes" and automatic update to iOs7. Phone has been restored, reset and recovered. Will not activate to server. I need a new phone Apple!!

I heard about all the problems with the new iOs 7 update but also heard Apple would force me to do it. I tried to update but didn't have enough space. Had to delete ALOT of my apps and still not enough space. Phone was working perfectly fine and message pops up that "I will not have any service until I restore to iTunes. I plug into laptop to restore and it forces me to update to iOs7. Takes 3 hours. It updates but phone doesn't restore. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips:reset to factory settings, recover etc. Got a new SIM card because it said I don't have one but I do. Apple support wouldn't help me because I was out of warranty, and said I would have to pay. Went to the Apple store and they couldn't fix it and said "it's a hardware issue" that will cost me $170.00+.  I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE NEW iO7 FRIED MY PHONE'S HARDWARE. The phone is on the HELLO stage and keeps searching but will not activate to server- it's temporarily unavailable. Have tried multiple times.I have a 3 year contract with Rogers and the phone is less than 2 years old. Apple needs to take responsibility for crashing my phone. I NEED A FREE NEW PHONE!!!

Restore it to factory settings, then set it up from your back up. Did this last year when I got my new iPod, and it worked. I have no idea why syncing OTA can sometimes glitch, but hopefully this will help.

  • Ipod touch not working after being attached to new charger

I have a 3G ipod touch, and recently bought a mains charger. Although the charger isn't an Apple, it is compatible with the itouch (i checked with around 4 different retailers). As soon as I plugged it in, the touch heated up incredibly, so I unplugged it straight away, and now the touch won't work at all - doesn't reboot, isn't recognised on the PC, won't charge via the computer etc. The retailer admits that the charger is faulty - they've tried in on another ipod and nothing happened at all - but I'm not sure if they will accept liability for my ipod. They are saying I should contact Apple.

Have you tried the sandard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Retore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • IPod touch not working after 5.0.1iOS update

It seems like a lot of people are having issues after the new 5.0.1iOS update. I want to share my frustration and what problems I'm facing. After the update my ipod won't sync properly. It freezes my computer and then my computer shuts down everytime I have my ipod connected to my computer. My music and apps on my iPod are like ghosts they are visible but do NOT work after being pressed. I tried resetting the ipod, same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, same problem. There is only problems with my computer when the iPod is plugged into the computer and trying to update. I am so ANGRY because I love my iPod and I can't use it to listen to music or communicate with my family and friends. I hope Apple will help all of us soon and fix these HUGE bugs, and FAST.

  • Satellite L870-165 does not work after being repaired by their service

Laptop Toshiba warranty does not work after being repaired by their service twice.
    Model: Satellite L870-165
Computer will not boot, stays with black screen stating: No bootable device-Please restart your system
After reboot still happening the same.
I called Toshiba phone incident and after trying several options I said take him to repair the service.
They first told me it was the hard drive, then phoned me to indicate that reinstalling and finally it was the motherboard, which supposedly changed. The day after being picked computer repair returned to give exactly the same error, only malfunctioned one evening.
After another call to 902 the Toshiba warranty service, I went back to take the service, this time I changed the hard drive. When I got home the computer did not start even once, again gives the same error.
I believe that this team comes with a factory default so that its solution is not easy because even the technical service told me that I did not know what else to do with it.

    >Computer will not boot, stays with black screen stating: No bootable device-Please restart your system
This message pops up because the notebook cannot find the Windows system.
There could be either an problem with the HDD or maybe the HDD is OK but the Windows system isnt preinstalled properly.
You said that the service agent changed the HDD. But did someone install the Windows system?
You can try to do it yourself take your recovery disk (hopefully you created such disk in the past) and boot from the recovery disk in order to install the system.
In case booting from the Disk would not be possible, go to BIOS (F2) and disable the secure boot and change from UEFI to CSM mode

  • I got ipod touch not working, screen totally blank and the problem is i don't have nearly a year what should i do

i have ipod nano wont works after i changing its and the problem is i cant remember when i got its or if its out of warranty, what should i do??

If the card has been redeemed onto your account then you shouldn't need to re-enter it - I've never had to re-enter any of mine, and once a card has been redeemed it effectively becomes zero, it's value should be added to your balance. What is happening when you try to buy the song ?

    Hello TanbirSingh,
You’re having a problem with the fingerprint reader not working.
Go into device manager and uninstall the Biometric device. Don’t restart the computer.
Go to HP.com and update the Fingerprint reader, this will be the newest driver.

Also update the BIOS to make sure that the device is being detected.

  • Mail on iPod Touch not working after iCloud password change

A few days ago, I was prompted to change the mail password for my iCloud account.  My iPad and MacBook mail were both successfully updated and then accessed.  When I tried my iPod, it said the password was incorrect.  I delted the account and added it again, but the account is still not accessble.
After some research, I think my iPod is a second-generation model.  It was purchased two years ago this month, so I was disappointed to see that it cannot be updated to iSO 5.  Because I cannot have this upgrade, I cannot get the iCloud option in Settings which would help me out. I suspect this is the root of my mail problem.
Is there any way to get my mail to work?

Update:  I just spent some time with an on-line chat.  Turns out that when I switched to iCloud a few months ago, I missed an opportunity that started on May 1, 2012.
For those of you who have not yet made the switch to iCloud, the paragraph below might help.  Please note that the Apple help said that I should use Firefox rather than Safari to access the site.  Crazy!  Why would an Apple Application not work.
What if I just want to keep using my email on all my devices?
As of May 1, you can choose to keep using your mail after MobileMe ends, even on devices that don’t meet the iCloud system requirements. Just go to me.com/move and select the option to keep using your email after MobileMe ends. Once you have completed this short process, your mail will continue to work on devices that don’t meet the iCloud requirements after MobileMe ends on June 30, 2012.

  • My iPod will not work after initial install

When I first set up my iPod, I used the USB in the rear of my computer. Then I remembered that I use that port for my external hard drive, which happened to be disconnected at the time. When I tried to plug the iPod into one of the USB's in the front, I started getting errors saying that the iPod was corrupt. Mind you I just got it today!! So I tried restoring the iPod, but it still would not work properly. I got errors that say: "Ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1415)" "There was a problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod. The requested resource was not found" "iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be correpted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod." Any suggestions?? Does the iPod need to go back??

are you using an itunes 7.0.0.70, or an itunes 7.0.1.8? to check, go "help > about itunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen.
if you've got a 7.0.0.70, first try an upgrade to 7.0.1.8:
    iTunes 7.0.1.8 Installer
if you still get the 1415 when using 7.0.1.8, let's get your iPod Updater logs to the Apple engineers for a look.
    Open this folder:
    C:\Documents and Setings\yourusername\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Updater Logs
(You may need to show hidden files in order to see the Application Data folder. Open up My Computer, and in the Tools menu, choose "Folder Options..." Then go to the View tab, and then in the "Advanced settings", select "Show hidden files and folders.")
Send the files inside the iPod Updater logs folder as attachments to this email address.
In the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

I brought my Iphone on the At and T site 3 months ago and it's not working how can I have it repaired?

  • Phone not working after line move and number change

Hi. I just removed my line on my on plan and changed my number. Now my phone will not work such as making calls.

    Did you reactivate the phone?
Try restarting the phone by holding down the top/power button and the Home button at the same time until the phone restarts.
Try dialing *228 from the phone and follow the instructions to activate the phone.
Try logging on to your MyVerizon account from a computer and select "Activate Device".

  • IPod Touch not working with Sony Stereo, and its not the stereo

I just bought a Sony Stereo with an iPod Dock, it originally played my iPod Touch the first day I had it, but now it doesn't. The stereo works with other iPods in the house so I know it isn't the stereo. Could there be something wrong with my iPod?

You didn't mention which Sony with built-in iPod dock, so if I am to assume it's the same as mine, the CMT-BX20i, it still works fine for playing and charging. Does the IPT charge/sync with the USB cable still?

  • Key combinations strg+b, strg+s, strg+p are not working after swapping fn and strg

    Hey guys.
I just got my brand new Lenovo e540 and I really like it. I only got one problem and would like to know if there is a fix for it.
I swapped the fn- and strg-key in BIOS setttings and everything went fine at first. But then I realized that some strg-combinations aren't working.
The following combinations are not working: strg+b, strg+p, strg+s (as far as I remember) And it is really annoying if you can't save your notepad-document with strg+s.
Now I came across these information:
    Fn+B= break
    Fn+P= pause
    Fn+S= sysrq
    Fn+C= ScrLK
    Fn+I= insert
Is it possible, that this is the source of my problem? Because technically im still pressing the fn-key when doing my strg+s combinations because I swapped the keys in BIOS. The odd thing is, that strg+c is working absolutely fine.
I already tried disabling all services and programs starting when booting up the pc but the problem still occured.

I want to update the bios so much, especially because of the cleaned-up noise when using 3D...
But i can't because of the darn shortcuts (FN+S is especially  troublesome for me).
Come on guys, please add an option to disable those shortcuts or atleast make them swap when we swap ctrl+fn.

  • HT201328 Unlocking my iPhone 4s did not work after I did the Restore in my device. Need Help

I received an email confirmation from my carrier that my request to have my iPhone 4s to be unlocked has been sent to Apple and completed, and I followed the instruction given to me for Restoring my device but  still not able to use other SIM card. I was advice that I will be able to get the unlock info from Apple when I do the Restore, I'm still getting the error message "SIM card is invalid...." when I replaced the SIM card that came from my carrier with another. Please help. I need to know what am I missing. Appreciate any help.

Yes, I believe the steps did Restore my device as new. I followed the steps given to me in How to Restore software in my device..still I believe the Unlocking did not work because I'm not able to use other SIM card
