IPod is Scrambling Artwork

Hi. I'm new to these Discussion forums and this is my first post so I don't have much experience on this site.
My problem is that when I play music on my iPod, the album artwork that is displayed by the song name, artist and album is different to the actual artwork. (for example, "If Everyone Cared" by Nickelback from the album "All The Right Reasons" is showing artwork of Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape). At first I thought it was because I mixed it up on my computer but when I checked in iTunes the artwork was correct. I tried to update the ipod a couple of times and I also reset the ipod and it didn't fix the problem.
The one solution I think is that if I restore it to factory settings, however my computer that has iTunes is not connected to iTunes therefore when I click restore it says "internet connection is required, we could not establish a connection".
Does anyone know the solution or have any suggestoins? Anything is appreciated.
Thanks

Had the same problem this morning. Although, interestingly, if I hit the center button twice, it would produce an entirely new zoomed-in cover, unrelated to the incorrect thumbnail or the song.
If Khiz has the same problem I did, this method solves it just fine.
And I'm also curious if Khiz just uploaded a massive amount of music or made changes to a massive amount of files. Because just deleted everything I had in the comment field (since the skip while shuffle feature made it redundant), which resulted in close to my entire 4930-song library getting reuploaded.

  • Problems with iPod touch 5G - Artwork and TV shows don't show up

I've been having some problems with my recently acquired iPod touch 5G. When I change album art on iTunes for music or videos it either won't change the art on my iPod or no artwork will show up at all (just the default grey music note or TV).
When I change the Sort field to make my iPod sort albums chronologically instead of alphabetically, it will work until I've plugged my iPod into the computer a few times and then it will go back to sorting alphabetically (even though in the Get Info on iTunes it still says it's sorted by year).
Lastly, when I change a downloaded video from a Movie to a TV Show it will rarely show up in TV Shows on my iPod, the file can't even be found by searching.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all videos and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Videos>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by each video
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPod Classic music artwork Displayed on TV????

Is there a way to display my iPod Classic music artwork to my TV like my Zune does?

You cannot drag and drop photos. Read your manual and you will quickly find out it mentions nothing. However in ITunes, click edit and preferences while your IPOD is connected. Click IPOD tab and you will see a photos tab. Designate where your photos are you want to snyc.

  • Ipod shows black artwork while itunes shows correct picture

Hi! I've pasted the artwork to several whole albums on my ipod and itunes shows them correctly when i click on "Get Info" but when I eject the ipod - the ipod shows somehow just black covers; I've tried different artworks but for those several albums the artwork remains always black ...
    What else can I do?
    Thanx and greeting!
    BF

Plug in the iPod, uncheck the box to show artwork on the iPod then sync the iPod (all artwork will be removed from the iPod).
When it is done, reselect that check box and sync the iPod again (all artwork added to iPod).
This often times clears up display issue with artwork on the iPod.
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • IPod Classic album artwork gone in new iTunes display board as of 1 Dec 2012

Now that I installed the new iTunes software and connect my iPod Classic the album artwork display in the bottom left corner has disappeared! There are other new features on this new iTunes layout that annoy me!
Apple...please go back to your previous iTunes layout and get my album artwork back.
My iPod is fine, there is nothing wrong with my iPod, just iTunes and their ridiculous change! I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes to no avail.
And NO, I DO NOT use the apple iTunes store for anything, just use iTunes to connect to my iPod Classic, that's all, nothing further!
So don't go trying to sell me something on the iTunes store! NOT INTERESTED!
Why do you people tend to make things more difficult after I finally figured out your last iTunes layout?!
Simple guy non-computer geek here, just your average all-American Joe!
Can someone out there assist? Any way I can return to the previous version? This new version bites! Thanks much!

*Why is artwork not showing on my iPod when it's there in iTunes?*
iTunes will display a cover in many of it's views provided at least one track from the album has embedded artwork. The iPod appears to load only the artwork from track one to create the cover flow and album views which means that it can sometimes fail to display art for albums even when you can see the art in iTunes. Further, when tracks are played on the iPod, artwork is displayed if and only if it exists in the currently playing track, so track one may show art while track two does not.
*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=trackswithoutartwork for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, find the album in the main music folder, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the album, use CTRL-I or Command-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box.
I say 320x320 because I believe (from using TouchCopy) that it's the size used in the iPod cache so if you're going to crop or resize you might as well work to that size. Otherwise 200x200 is probably good enough. iTunes store art seems to be generally 600x600.
    *Rebuild artwork cache*
Sometimes the artwork cache becomes corrupt and fails to show correct artwork, even when this is properly set up in iTunes. To rebuild the artwork cache, connect your iPod to iTunes. Locate the iPod in the Sources pane on the left-hand side, then select the Music tab. Remove the tick from *Display album artwork on your iPod*, sync the iPod, reselect the option & sync again.

  • IPod classic album artwork showing in iTunes no longer in Ipod

    Hi everyone,
I have an iPod classic and until today, my album artwork always would show in iTunes and iPod Classic.  The artwork is now no longer showing in my iPod and the "get info" tab is not available for me in iTunes.
I tried ticking off the artwork in my iPod, syncing, then ticking again the artwork and albums, then syncing again and still to no avail.  Please help, I would be grateful if someone could give me a solution

Restoring is the function in iTunes that wipes a device, reloads the firmware and then lets you put back content. Yes, it deletes the media from the device but that should all be in your library, which in turn should be backed up. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device and Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy if it isn't.

  • IPod Touch album artwork issues

    Hi all,
I recently changed a whole album's artwork to something different. I selected all the songs under Devices>ipod Touch>Music and did a multiple edit with the new artwork. After the sync, only certain ones changed. I then went into each individual playlist and changed them (using the multiple edit again). Still, only a few are changed. I've done multiple sync's to make sure it didn't stop in the middle of the sync as well. Any ideas?

Amazon is a good source of (good quality) album artwork. Songs though, well that's illegal, If you get my drift.. Hope you've got hard copies.
    Regards,
    Peter.

  • I NEED HELP! IPOD AND ALBUM ARTWORK ISSUES

I can use the music store and surf the internet fine. BUT, I try to use the ministore and with the new itunes, update mmy ipod and download album artowrk, it says itunes cannot connect, please make sure my connection is active. I tried the network diagnostics and it said network failed, but in the report, it says it connected to the music store. I dont understand, this shouldnt be because I can use the music store no problem. What is odd is on my other accounts on the computer, this issue doesnt exist. I dont recall changing any settings. Can someone help please?

You can get album artwork from various other sources as well as Amazon. You can even locate artwork using Google image search by using the artist or album name. I find this site is a good source of artwork: CD/Album Cover Art Search from SlothRadio.
Locate the album from any of those sources, right click on the image and save it to the desktop, once it's there drag it to the iTunes artwork pane. Once you've added the artwork you can either delete the original file or keep it in a folder somewhere in case you need to use it again. Alternatively there are programs like these that help locate artwork: iTunes Art Importer or MP3 Tag

  • IPod Video - Album Artwork Not Transferring

Does anyone know why when I move songs from iTunes to my iPod some of the album artwork comes over and some does not?

I'll asume you're using iTunes 7. When you connect the iPod, it's screen shows up in iTunes. Click the music tab at the top of the screen. Then go to the bottom of the list (don't scroll through it) but below the list ther is a checkbox labled "Show Album Artwork." Make sure it's selected. If it is, make sure the song you want artwork for actually has artwork to show in iTunes.

  • IPod touch - album artwork

I have an iPod touch (4th gen) and an iPhone 4. Both are running iOS 5.1. I recently added new songs (with album artwork) to both devices. The album artwork displays fine on my iPhone but not the iPod. I've tried closing the iPod app and then restarting the device (this usually works). However this did not solve the problem. This problem started happing after I updated the touch to 5.1. What can I do?

Yeah. I deleted the songs in question and resynced them. Sadly, it did not work. I also tried deleting the artwork in iTunes and redownloading the artwork directly from Apple. Then I resynced them... did not work. I also deleted the songs from iTunes and reimportanted them, resynced them... did not work.
    My quest continues

  • IPod Problem (w/ artwork problem)

When I plug my iPod into my computer the screen just flashes "Do Not Disconnect"
In iTunes, it will say "OK to disconnect". The battery is full and no transfer is going on.
Also, all the album artwork is different. Each track of a CD I have on there is different.
    Any solutions?

    Never Mind, Problem Fixed.

  • Why doesn't my ipod see my artwork anymore?

    Sorry to be a pest.
How can we get the fix for this.
I do not want to restore what is there.
I hoped that the new 7.1 would help but it did not.
    Any ideas??????????

I've tried everything suggested here at at the ipod site.
It seems if you add anything to itunes and add the art there it will turn up on the pod. I don't want to reload the works though. I took the tunes from 100s and 100s of sources and it took me months to organize it. As you know the art is in there it just needs to be FREED!!!

  • When I uploaded the artist known as "Cream" to my iPod, the new artwork next the artist picture is not of the band. It's some hiphop group. How do I fix or disable that?

Basically I am not a fan of what iOS7 did to the music application and it is really screwing with my artwork. As I mentioned in the title the artwork of the artist that appears when searching by artist is wrong on a number of occasions.

Delete the crip-crap artwork out of there and select get album artwork from iTunes and see if it can. If that album isn't in the iTunes library then it won't be able to get the artwork. Even if it does have it in the library it won't get the artwork in some cases if it's not titles right. But if you've bought it off iTunes is should be able to get it. If you bought it somewhere's else you can try to get the artwork from iTunes but make sure the title exactly matches up with the way the title is in iTunes. You would have to select (get info) and in the artist and album fields type it in exactly as the way it's titled in iTunes. You shouldn't have to go through this if the title is right in the first place.
Another way is to search for the artwork somewhere's on the web and insert it yourself into the artwork box. But I don't know how that iTunes 11 works or looks because I kept my iTunes 10.7 and no nothing about 11, don't care to.

  • IPod resetting automatically when loading album artwork

I purchased a 120GB iPod Classic this last Christmas, and with one month of usage I'm getting loads of trouble.
I've been recently syncing some songs, I have about 25GB of music, but from about two weeks my iPod is behaving erratically. I can't play more than five songs without my iPod suddenly resetting itself, displaying a horrible apple with only four colors at startup. I noticed this happens most when the disk is loading a new song, and the artwork is still displayed as a grey musical note. Somehow the disk fails loading, I hear a strange click and the iPod resets. Sometimes this happens at the middle of a song for some strange reason.
Has anyone got this problem? I figured it's a software or firmware failure since I've seen other posts explaining similar situations (songs skipping by itself, happened to me earlier as well)...
I can't play five songs without this happening... this is very annoying.
How can I solve this? Does anyone know?
    Thanks

    I think I found it!
I guess the album art database on my iPod was scrambled. I unchecked the 'Display Album Art on my iPod' option on iTunes (under Music) when syncing my iPod, and I noticed the orange section of the capacity bar displayed below was suddenly gone. I ejected and began using my iPod, and now I'm on the second hour of flawless playback and no skipping at all.
Later I'll try re-enabling the option, to see if iTunes can rebuild the album artwork database and see if that does it.

  • ITunes 11.0.4 artwork scrambled

OK, I've seen problems similar to this one, but not this exact one:
While using the computer and watching a TV show in iTunes, I look over to the iTunes window and - about half of the artwork for my TV shows is scrambled - I have a series of entries that all show the same artwork (and it's incorrect - different from what it was before the scramble).  In addition to this, there are now several repeat entries, all with the same artwork.  Let me try to desribe it better:
I have several TV shows (and I list them in alphabetical order) up to Doctor Who.  The next entry is Doctor Who: The Classic Series (with scrambled artwork).  After the DW Classic is The Simpsons (with the scrambled DW artwork).  Then it repeats:  DW, The Simpsons, DW, The Simpsons, etc.  for 4 repetitions - all with incorrect DW artwork.  Then the library correctly continues with Dragnet (which has the correct artwork) and correctly continues for a few more lines until it hits Lost in Space, then it is scrambled again showing incorrect artwork and Lost in Space followed by V (incorrectly) for several repetitions.  It does this scrambling for several iterations throughout my TV shows list.
The scrambling has affected my Movies and Music as well, though not as severely.
Interestingly enough, if I click on ANY of the "scrambled" shows, they play what I expect them to play.  If I click on The Simpsons (which is out of alphabetical order and has scrambled artwork) it plays The Simpsons.  ALL of my entries labelled The Simpsons will play the proper shows.
Also, when I click "get info" to check the artwork, it is CORRECT.  In the little "get info" window, it shows The Simpsons artwork that is appropriate to the season/episode - it just won't show it in the list.
What I have done:  repaired permissions, deleted the "Album Artwork" folder and had iTunes create new artwork and have re-installed iTunes 11.0.4 - none of which have worked.
In one of my searches, I thought I found a remedy - something to do with deleting/fixing a corrupt file somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me find that suggestion again.  Can anyone help?
    TIA

A few of mine are aswell in Shows view in iTunes but they display correctly in List view. Very strange.
They also display correctly on ATV.
