Ipod is stuck on apple sign

ipod is stuck on apple sign and every time i restart it it goes to a white screen then cuts off and cuts on to the apple sign what do i do ?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty and also means that you will not get any support from Apple, including from this Apple forum. Jailbreaking can't be discussed in this Apple forum.

  • Ipod stuck on apple sign.  Help!!!

My ipod is stuck on the apple sign. I thought it had a full charge yesterday morning. Then my daughter went to listen to her songs and there were none on it, but at that time we could still use the menu. So, I thought maybe it wasn't charged. So, I restored to original condition (since she doesn't have much on it, it wasn't a big deal to lose her data), BUT now there is only an apple logo on it and I can't do anything. My computer or Itunes does not recognize the ipod either. I plugged it in to the wall charger instead and all it gives me is an apple logo not a charging sign. I tried holding the select and menu to reset, but nothing happens. What does this mean? Where do I go from here?

The Apple instruction for resetting an iPod is that you have to slide the Hold switch to on, then off again and then press-and-hold both the Menu and Select buttons simultaneously for up to 8 seconds. Did you toggle the Hold switch on, then off and wait up to 8 seconds?
I assume that you are talking about a Classic iPod since some of the early iPod models require a different sequence of buttons. Check here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320?viewlocale=en_US for the precise instructions for resetting various iPod models and further help to get the iPod to respond.

  • IPOD IS STUCK ON APPLE IMAGE

my ipod is stuck on the apple image and no matter what i do, reset or anything it will not get off. the screen goes off and on with teh apple image and makes a clicky noise
does anyone know how to end this??

When I spoke to the second level technician, when I found out that they wanted to send my Ipod to the engineeers for evaluation of the problem, I asked if my Ipod was the first to have exhibited this problem. The technician laughed and sad "Oh, no, there have been a number before you!" On further searching through several discussion areas, it seems that a number of individuals are having the same problems. My Ipod was stuck from the time it was taken out of the box. I only managed to restart it once and I thought that I had the problem solved when it started downloading songs. However the hard drive started and stopped repeatedly and the unit began to heat up. It became so hot that I raised it from my desktop so that it could be cooled. I left to continue downloading but it failed and a folder with a triangle with an exclamation point appeared with a web site address to view. I do not claim to be an expert but I know that I am not alone in having this issue. I do not know what percentage of hard drive units will fail in general but if you look around this discussion group, you will find a number of similar complaints and we are the first crop of users.

  • IPod Touch stuck on Apple Logo Screen

Today, I spilled some water on my iPod touch, but I dried it up right away. Now, however, the iPod is stuck on the apple logo. I've tried holding down the lock and home buttons and the screen will go black and then the apple logo appears again, but it won't go any farther than that. I plugged it into my computer to restore it, but my computer won't recognize it.
Did I kill my iPod, or is there anything I can do? It's less than a year old, so it's still under warranty, but is there any point in bringing it in?

my ipod touch is doing the same thing. it is so frustrating because it is frozen on the apple screen with two lines and won't respond to the computer and sometimes it will go to a screeen we pink vertical lines with the apple screen in the background. i called apple yesterday and they made me wait a day but nothing happened. any advice?

  • IPod is stucked in apple screen and it's not recognized at iTunes, iPod is stucked in apple screen and it's not recognized at iTunes

I have an iPod Touch 4th generation and a windows7 machine; and it's stucked in apple screen. And it's not reconized in iTunes program. Please, help.

this just happened to me as well. i've found several other threads here that amount to people with the same problem. the posts are all from this week and no one has goten an answer yet. the phone help amounted to the 'hold the sleep and home buttons' advice that only puts you right where you already are: looking at the 'connect to itunes' picture. then my help guy says 'let me ask a supervisor' and basically hangs up on me.
this is the second time for me, though, so i already know that if you go into the store they can do the restore there. what i want is advice on how to prevent this without just refusing all future updates.

  • IPod nano stuck on Apple logo; won't boot.

I have an iPod nano that seems to charge, but won't boot. There's no sad iPod logo or anything, just the Apple logo. I can boot it into diagnostics mode, and it seems to be fine. However, it won't go into disc mode.
    Any advice?

This tread (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=723183) is about the same problem you're having. At some point it's said:
"Hold down Select / Menu (to reboot the iPod)
As soon as the Apple logo appears, hold down Rewind / Select until...
...you see a backwards Apple Logo.
At this point, you will have entered Diagnostic Mode. It'll test the RAM, and then tell you to HIT PLAY TO CONTINUE. Hit 'Play'.
You'll be in a menu that you advance by hitting FF (Fast Forward). Advance to the 'DISKMODE' entry.
Hit 'Select.' This will put you into Firewire Disk mode. The screen should change to the familiar 'Do Not Disconnect' mode. At this point, connect it to the computer.
Run the restore utility; it should now recognize the iPod and offer to Restore the factory software. Do so. You'll lose whatever's on it, but you'll avoid having to send it back in to Apple and paying repair fee."
