My Ipod is empty and i got it connectet to my computer but it still isn't giving any sign of live
and and accourding to my pc it isn't even connected
(i got it already 1,5 hour connectet to the pc)

So I picked up my iPod, and it got snagged on another powercord, it fell on the padded leather recliner, no biggie. So I picked it up, popped in my headphones, and hit play... no audio. So I pulled them off, and noticed that altough it may be annoying, there was no clicking noise coming out of the tiny speaker. So, I tried resetting it, checked my notes section, looked through all of my music, plugged it into my comp to see if it worked, and everything seems fine. I even found my old stock headphones and tried it, but still no audio. Any help? I'm trying to avoid a complete restore if possible.

Oh no my ipod isn't working any more! HELP!!!

See When I was on my Pc and not my ibook I pluged in my ipod and it wasn't coming up in my itunes so I looked in "my computer" and look at the thing were it showed my ipod and i clicked it and it said this needs to be formated so i clicked yes on the format thing and it did it then I unplug my ipod and it stops and when i try and put it back on it never comes on, how can I help this?

What causes "Windows Live Sign-out isn't complete-Finish signing out"?

When signing out of email at www.hotmail.com, I get the message “Windows Live Sign-out isn’t complete…Finish signing out” instead of the "signout successful" screen. The message suggests deleting all cookies, which I did. Then I deleted firefox 5 and reinstalled firefox 4.0.1.
Same error occurs with firefox 4.0.1.
The error does not occur when I use MS internet explorer to access hotmail.

Why does my Ipod say its charging when it isn't reseaving any power?

I read every article on the support part of the apple website and nothing could help me. My Ipod touch is a 3rd generation and has 32 gigs, if thats relavent at all. So, my Ipod has a picture of a dead battery with a lightning bolt on it, and it only shows when its charging. The apple support said that picture means that the Ipod is charging, but is so dead that it cannot function, and to let it charge for 30 minutes and it should be better. It sat on a wall charger (a usb outlet that is plugged into the wall) for 3 days now and theres been no progress. So why does my Ipod say its charging when it isn't reseaving any power?
I've tried 2 wall chargers, and tried connenting it to all three of my computers, and tried about 4 differant charger cords. On all of them the Ipod says its charging, but it isn't getting any charge. So I don't believe its a severed power cord. I have also reset it a few times, and it won't show the apple sign, only the same battery/lightning picture.

It could also be the charging circuit in the iPod. The Genius Bar is free. You could try to replace the battery yourself but that may not fix it.

i have had my ipod mini for eleven months and this is the first problem i have had with it.
i went on a vacation to flordia, and while i was there my ipod crashed. i had dropped it once a few days before the crash, but it continued to play my music after i dropped it.
when i go to turn it on the apple logo appears, then the depressed ipod.
my ipod isn't recognized by any computer or tunes. when i plug it into my computer, the 'do not disconnect' screen doesn't even appear. all that happens is the apple logo screen, then the depressed ipod screen, then a recharging screen appears that is stuck on the lowest point possible.
i have already tried the "five R's" and everything else in the support pages, and so far they have helped me none. all they do is bring you around in huge circles, and you end up on the page you started on.
i run a windows xp, and have everything fully upgraded.
i know, i know, many of you are having similar problems, but could you please only post if you have an answer, thanks.

I know!!! It worked just fine one day, computer recognized it and i could add or remove songs at me leisure, but now I can't even charge it on a computer becasue it doesn't exsist to it. I also tried the five steps, but you can't restore the settings on it if the computer can't find it. Finally I had my sister bending the charge piece in the ipod just for it to show up, I restored it and it didn't make a bit of difference! I lost all 800 songs on it but I still can't charge it or add songs. If you find anything out, let me know!!!

It's not designed to work like this. When you sync, the iPod stores some information that basically says 'this iPod belongs to computer xyz'. Apple did this to prevent copyright issues (syncing someone else's music).
If you really want to do this, you'll have to at least tie both iTunes installations to the same account. Maybe have them sync with each other.

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store because of the shock issue. I doubt it was caused by the update.

One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.

- Power off and then back on the router

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Go through the steps here and see if anything works for you.

You might have to bite the bullet and restore the device if nothing else works. If that doesn't bring it back to life, make an appointment at an Apple Store and let take a look at it.

My Ipod isn't responding to anything. I was listening to it and then I stopped listening to it. Two hours later I tried to turn in on and it wasn't turning on. I checked to see if the hold was on, I tried holding the center button for 10 seconds. I also just charged it last night so it had full a battery. Try sliding the switch/hold back and forth a couple times, and then reset it 3 or 4 more times (in a row). And if that doesn't do anything, you might just have to take it to your local apple store!

By all of those suggestions, do you mean the ones I mentioned in the paragraph about or the ones in the support article I linked? Does this 5G iPod via still power on? DId you try connecting it to another PC or Mac to see if it is recognized there? Did you check the dock connector for any signs of debris or damage to the pins that could be preventing a connection to your PC?
Any idea how long the average iPod should last? Ours if from 2006.
Most people never get the iPod to last 6 years, so consider yourself lucky. That's quite a time span!

Ipod Touch has the logo sign and wont turn on

My ipod touch is giving me problems. It had low battery today and suddenly just out of nowhere turned off. I plugged in for charging however it appears that the logo sign is only on and doesnt do anything else. Could anyone please tell me a solution for this. I have already tried holding the power button as well as the home for several seconds but nothing seems to work. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First, charge it up and try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
