Ipod & itunes not correct

For some reason my itunes library & ipod albums don't appear the same following synch.
I've got ADELE 21 which appears as a full album in my music library but when I look at it on my ipod it shows the album minus track 1 which is listed separetly. I want the album as a complete album so I can listen to it. How can I ressolve this issue??
I did purchase the single track 1 first & then went onto complete the album & have noticed on my ipod it shows as two different covers on the albums.
Anybody help???
thanks

I'm having the exact same problem with my 5G video iPod since upgrading to iTunes 7.3
Also, it deletes podcasts off the iPod when syncing. It never did that before. Sometimes it deletes most of my subscriptions, then I have to sync all over to get them back.
Question: How do you selectively mark podcasts as "not new" & "new"? I don't see how to do this..

Re-installed but half-way thru got msg: 'Apple mobile device failed to start. Verify you have sufficient privileges to start system: abort/retry/ignore'. Tried retry and ignore but got another message: 'error 7 (win error 193)
I tried with and without my iPhone attached. iCloud has been updated from iPhone so there was successful communication during failed reloading of iTunes.

  • IPod software not correctly installed.

Lately my iTunes started giving me an error message when I plug my iPod into my computer. It says something like "The software required to communicate with the iPod has not been correctly installed.Reinstall iTunes to reinstall the iPod software." So i uninstall iTunes, clean out temporary files and leftover files from the installation, reboot my pc, then reinstall iTunes, but it still gives me the same error. I've also tried restarting the iPod service, but still the same error.

    Hi,
That message generally means software isn't installed or there is an application conflict. Try reinstalling iTunes as described in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926 which provides *General installation troubleshooting* tips that resolve most installation issues.
If the issue persists after trying the tips in that article, you may want to look at the security software running on the PC. Try updating, reconfiguring or uninstalling the security software.

  • Possible Solution to Frozen iPod, iTunes not responding and sad folder

There may be hope for frozen iPods, unresponsive iTunes and sad folders. This solution is totally anecdotal at this point as it only has worked on my iPod. However, try it you got nothing to lose. Our iPods broken right? It's a $300 paper weight right?
    History
My iPod 4G 20GB started skipping songs then rebooted and gave me the sad folder. I reset and everything went downhill from there. I would:
    - not be recognized in My Computer
-when I did get a drive on My Computer it would lock up My Computer
-reboot and either give me sad folder or Menu with no songs
    -refuse to be updated
-be seen in Device Manager as ipod both with Firewire and USB connections
I read through the many threads here and tried all Apple's Solutions to no avail. I even called and they told me, very nicely and free of charge, that I would have to send it in and because the repair price was such to "look at the new models to see which one I wold like". I was totally bummed. I went and bought an new Nano 4GB (with warranty this time) swearing I would never buy another with a HDD again until they became more reliable. I even tried the smack it to get the disk head unstuck method. I figure my iPod was a paper weight at this point so what the ****.(Oddly this method works rather well with all sorts of broken electronics)
    Solution
Then I cam across this special Diganostics Mode that you can get to by resetting and then while the Apple is showing pressing the Select and backwards keys simultaneously. It bring up and weird Diagnostic utility witha a abunch of tests. Here is what I did
    - I tried the 5in1 test and got and error on Firewire.
    - I did the HDD R/W and surprisingly it passed.
    - I went on to the HDD scan. This supposedly tkaes acouple of minute so I waited. I think 4-5 dots appeared then nothing. The iPod started to get hot. THe disk was spinning away. After a while the battery got very low. THis test chews up the battery. So I escaped out by resetting and went to connect it to a power source.
My USB was dangling out of my computer and I was too lazy to get the Firewire AC adapter thing going so I connected expecting the whole lockup thing with iTunes. Surprise. IT was recognized immediately and has been working like a champ. So go figure.

Details on Diag mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/index.shtml

My ipod only gets the sad logo and whenever I try to start it up I can hear the hard drive trying to start and then failing and it does so like 3 or 4 times. After I read your post I wanted to try that diagnostic thing but I can't get it into that mode. How long should I have to hold select and back? After I reset the ipod, it goes to the sad face, the hard drive seems to fail a few times and then the screen goes blank and stays like that for as long as I hold those buttons. I'm so sick and tired of dealing with a broken ipod but I really want to get this thing working again so I can never buy another Apple product again. Thanks.

  • Ipod & itunes not communicating

    60gb w/ video
    itunes 6.0.5.20
    Version 1.1.2
    Running Windows XP SP2
I connect my ipod to the USB cable. Windows recognizes the connected device by playing a sound. The ipod is flashing the "Do not disconnect" screen. Under "My Computer" it finds the device and labels it as "Removable Disk (I:)" instead of the actual name of my ipod (Myipod) which it would do in the past.
At this stage what normally happens is once the ipod is connected to Windows it then launches itunes and the sync process starts. However, what happens is that the ipod remains in the "Do not disconnect" state and itunes does not launch itself. When I launch itunes before I connect the ipod it still does not start the sync process and Windows labels the device as "Removable Disk (I:)" instead of the actual name of my ipod (Myipod).
I've checked in start->control panel->system->hardware->device manager->USB controllers to see if its USB related issue, but it finds the device and its labeled as "USB Mass Storage Device" and its working properly.
This issue just started in the past week or two and I'm completely stumped as to how to solve it. I've had this ipod for close to a year and never encountered any problem with it until now. My hunch is that its an itunes related issue because Windows finds the device but for whatever reason can't name the device properly. I upgraded to all the current versions of itunes and the ipod updater software and that didn't cure the problem.
    Please help!
    Thanks

itunes must be reading an external hard drive or network drive as your ipod. check your local/external/network drives for a folder called 'ipod control' if you do find it then itunes is reading that drive as your ipod.
try changing/swapping your drive letters by going to control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management and change/swap the drive letter of ipod and/or network drive.
    hope that helped.

  • IPod/iTunes not updating

Never had this problem before, but I noticed when I de-select something on iTunes to take it off my iPod, it is not taking it off. Videos and music. I tried to remove some tv shows off my pod, but they are still there. I looked through the options, but didn't really find anything that lookedlike it might help. A few weeks ago I had to reset my iPod to the factory settings, would this have anythingto do with it?

I would check your ipod settings just in case, see if anything differs from the last time you tried to delete something off of your ipod. Resetting your ipod probably wouldn't hurt (toggle hold on/off> hold centre and play/pause buttons 10sec) Other than that I don't know what could be wrong. You may have to restore your ipod again if this problem continues or it could just be a problem with your itunes. Have you tried connecting your ipod to a different computer and deleting music/video.
    Hope this Helps!

  • IPod & iTunes not sync right :(

I used to have my iTunes installed on my main drive (I have a slave drive)but when my main drive was almost full of songs, I asked for an external drive for xmas and got one. So I uninstalled iTunes from my main drive and installed it on my external drive where I've transferred ALL my mp3s. Now since then, I've updated my iTunes and gone ahead and plugged in my iPod but even though the iPod says "do not disconnect" my iTunes on the external drive doesn't seem to be updating the iPod. I go under "File - Update iPod" and the option is greyed out. I listened to my iPod and noticed that songs I had originally deleted on iTunes were still on my iPod, is there any way to resolve this issue?
I'm wondering if the iPod is still reading information from my main drive, though the entire iTunes folder including all mp3s have been deleted from it.

    fixed!

  • IPod/iTunes Not Syncing

Hoping someone can help me here....I have an old ipod that is barely hanging out. Used to have iTunes loaded on a work computer I no longer have access too. Trying to get my 2000 songs loaded onto my new laptop before this ipod dies...It sees the songs; as shown in the capacity level but will not copy over. I have tried syncing, copying, burning, managing manually...and I feel as if I am getting a blank stare. This is a first generation ipod that I have and I recently purchased the new classic so I would like to get it all copied to itunes 8 and start over...Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance

If you computer is recognising the iPod, there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files (both purchased and tracks from CDs etc) and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

I cannot find "Other" devices. I found Apple Mobile Device under Universal Bus Controllers but cannot see "recovery mode" or any other status. I use Windows Vista.
When I try to restart Apple Mobile Device Service I get the following message: "The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". What does this mean?
During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes.

  • Error - The software required for the ipod is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes to install the required sotware

When trying to load music from ITunes to my ipod I receive the error "The software required for the ipod is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes to install the required sotware"
What should I do to correct the error?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies. The notes below the box include tips on removing troublesome components.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Itunes not syncing correctly with my ipod

So i was downloading this new album to my ipod and when i synced it, i made sure to see if it was fine on my ipod
there were these 3 songs that belonged in the album but were isolated in their own album.
It either only showed the album name or just the artists name
i tried to fix it but now i lost an album from the album category and its left as Unknown Album but on my itunes the songs are all where they are supposed to be and is fine.
This has happened to me with other albums but after 2 hours you obviously have to give up
Is there something wrong with my itunes or is it my ipod thats not syncing correctly?
And also i wanted to know if i can write a review on the whole itunes program because honestly, it is so difficult and all i'm trying to do is download music.

I looked through some older threads on this subject and, while bunches of people seem to have had this problem, I did not find a solution thta works for me. Also, for what it's worth, the last time the "number of plays" and "date last played" updated was 12/5/13. The only significant thing I can remember that happened on my computer around that time was some Windows updates on 12/11/13. I have no idea if that can affect iTunes or not. Looking at some of the other threads, some people had this problem on Apple computers, so I guess Windows updates could not have affected them.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times.  When I connect my iPod Classic I get the following message:  The software for this iPod is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software.  Any ideas?

Assuming you have windows, try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes.  You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful.  Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

  • Video and audio not sync when i play all forms of video. from music videos, to tv shows. but they play perfect on my iPod. and tv shows display out of order on iPod, but in correct order on iTunes/computer. I even ran a virus check just to make sure.

audio and video do not syncronize.  all forms of videos. music videos to tv shows.  what do i need to do the syncronize them again
they are in sync on iPod, but not on computer.
another issue that might be from the same cause is, the order of episodes of the tv shows i have downloaded,   they appear in order on computer, but on iPod they show out of order.
any tips on how to fix this would very much help.
    thank you.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
An old version of iTunes will cause this and mess up the videos on your iPod. Always make sure you always use an up-to-date version of iTunes.
Make sure all the software on your computer is up to date...
    iTunes
    iPod Updater
    Updating iPod's Software
You will then need to restore the iPod and then let iTunes update your iPod and put your music, videos, etc. back onto your iPod...
