IPod just stops

when im listening to music and try to go into cover flow the music stops and sends me to the home screen. the same thing with music videos theyll just stop and then take me to the home screen, its so annoying. anyone else having this problem

No need to reset your iPhone. Just reboot it.
I had the same thing happen to me. -Though I'm not sure I was also using Safari. The iPod would just stop playing music and return to the home screen. This happened on any song, regardless of file type.
I turned the iPhone off and then back on. Since then, all music has played as expected.
When I plugged the iPhone back in to sync with my Mac, the Mac displayed a dialog telling me the iPhone had gathered information about a failure (I can't recall the exact wording) and asked me to approve sending that to Apple. It also gave me the option of viewing more details which opened a finder window displaying an iPhone folder with a text file and a plist file.

  • What can I do if my ipod just stopped working?

what can I do if my ipod just stopped working? I just purchased it on Aug 23, 2013. I was jogging with it then it just shut down and have not been able to turn it back on.

It could be, since Apple is not liable for user negligence. However, there is no way to definitevely say yes or no on these forums. Apple will run a diagnostic on the device and draw their own conclusions. I would advise not telling them that part though. Best of luck.

Ok one day out of the blue my ipod just stopped working it wouldnt turn on nothing but after recovering it, it's fine now but there is only one problem my screen wont work i can't do anything on it not even unlock it please someone help!!!!

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • My Ipod just stopped working, the screen got black and now I can't open it. I have tried to charge it but it doens't work.

My Ipod touch 5 just stopped working. The screen got black and now I can't use it or start it.
I have tried to charge it but it doens't start and when I tried to connect it with my computer it didn't work either.
I saw that you could hold down the "home" button and the "power" button at the same time but my home button doens't work so I can't do that.
Is there any other way I can fix it or do I have to go to an apple store?

    Try:
    Turn on without Home/Power Button

  • Help my classic 160 ipod just stopped working

my ipod classic has just stopped working. Wont connect to anything. dead as a dodo. help

thanks a million think that might have worked. I did it and seemed like nothing happen so before a threw it against the wall, lol, i plugged it into the computer via usb and it started to charge.
Now this leads me to another issue i have had before, that is itunes not recognizing my ipod when it is plugged in. That is what is happening now, and this has happen before. The solution i have had before was to shut down MAC and restart, which is very annoying when trying to add a pod-cast to ipod and leave the house. Any thoughts???
    thanks again!

  • My ipod just stopped working.

hi. I got my ipod shuffle 2nd Generation a while ago and it had so far worked fine, until I connected it today and windows gave the "USB device cannot be recognized" error message. I updated Itunes (which was a hard thing to do in itself) but I still get the same message. I tried the 5R's but I can't get them done because the ipod doesn't show neither in Windows nor in itunes. Do i have to reset my ipod? replace it? (Windows suggests I replace it :P) It still plays the music inside it, but I don't think the battery charges or anything, because the orange lights blinks twice, I get the message and the light turns off completely.
I tried the Ipod in my laptop (to which i had connected it in the past) and got the same message. any suggestions?
    PC   Windows XP Pro

me too! My (3rd) shuffle was working fine (versions 1 & 2 went back to the shop as they didn't work!) until suddenly it stopped playing music. I thought the battery was dead, but when i go to recharge the orange light blinks 3x & nothing else. The Ipod is not recognised by either Itunes or as hardware attache, by 2 diff pc's...my only guess is that this 1 is broke too, and I WILL NOT be getting version 4, just my money back...

  • Ipod just stopped recognizing my network

We have a network in our home with an airport extreme. There are three macs on the network, and it's also used by an ipad and my ipod touch. Suddenly, this morning, my ipod stopped recognizing the network. It sees it but then it asks me for the password. I input it, and it tells me it's wrong (it's not).
all the other computers and ipad work fine. The ipod was working fine last night. I checked the forum and several people suggested resetting the network settings. I did that, but it didn't help.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
    thanks,
    jeff

Reset the touch network settings - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Your touch will restart. If it doesn't reconnect to your network, tap Settings > WiFi > Other and re-enter your network name, security setting, and network password.
If you are still having problems, reboot the Airport Extreme (just unplug the thing) and when it restarts, reset the touch network settings again and then do the forced logon.

  • My iPod just stopped working.  No charging, no screen.. nothing.

I desperately need help.  My laptop is my life.  I don't have any idea why or when it stopped working, but I was using it and it was just fine, but then I got a notice that there was a 43% charge left on my battery.  So I made sure everything was plugged in and it was all fine, but it still wasn't charging and it just died.  Completely dead.  No screen except black, no buttons to show it is on or charging.  What can I do?  Is it my charging corrd?  Considering this is m y4th ****** charge cord, that wouldn't suprise me.
Are there any suggestions that I can try to see it I can get it to work or to check my cords"

    Try:
    - Another cable
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod just stopped working

I have an older Ipod nano. I unplugged it from the charger and the screen was black. I have tried charging it more than once since then. Will not charge in the wall or conncted to my computer. Also tried to connect it to the itunes on my computer but it would not connect. Resetting did nothing and the screen stayed black. Anyone know what is happening to it? Any way to fix it myself or should I take it into an Apple store. Thanks in advance.

First, make sure the hold button isn't engaged. Connect the iPod to power, and try resetting. Make sure you are using the right keypress for your iPod. (I know, but people sometimes panic.)
If this doesn't work disconnect from power and leave your iPod alone for 24-48 hours. Sometimes a locked up iPod can't even be reset. But once the battery discharges it will operate okay again.
If this fails, contact Apple. To be honest, I'm not sure what your rights are when a warranty replacement is made just before the original warranty expires. But common sense would seem to indicate that the replacement item has to have some coverage beyond the original warranty. Contact Apple customer service and push this point with them firmly but politely.

  • Help.. ipod just stopped working!!

My ipod pretty much has just stoped working. i didnt drop it or anything. i always use it in my car and it use to work fine but all the sudden it would just freeze..and i would have to wait for the battery to die so it would unfreeze. but then the same thing would happen again once i tried to play a song. the song would play for about 30 seconds before freezing. i have no idea what is wrong with it or how to fix it. i was reading other peoples post and people were saying to restore it?? i dont know what that is or how to do it.

    Tara1m,
    Welcome to the discussions.
Try resetting first, and then restoring if problems persist:

    Hello Angelina43,
I understand that your iPod nano is no longer responding. I would recommend resetting it:
    How to reset iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
How to reset an iPod nano (7th generation)
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo should appear after a few seconds, then the Home screen should appear.
    Thanks,
