Hi, if I were you I would uninstall everything that's related to the iPod (probably do a hard reset on the ipod itself also). Start out fresh. meaning download the cd that came with the ipod and go from there. i believe itunes whould be automatically updated for you once you've install what's on the cd. I have a 20G ipod with just the touch wheel. I've had it for 2 years or so now. at first i had the same sort of problem then decided to undo everything and started from the beginning. I've never had a problem since. not even with my battery. i charge mine using the BOSE speaker that's made for specifically for the ipod (it's a bit spendy, though) and only connect it to my dock (that's connected to my computer) when I'm getting music from my hard drive or cd. before i bought the BOSE speakers I have noticed that the ipod feels warm to the touch when I charged it from the dock. I've not had a problem with it being warm at all using the BOSE speaker to charge it. One more thing, if your ipod ever seems to freeze up try toggling the hold button back and forth (not too fast). mine froze once, also (sorry, forgot to mention that) and that's all i did and it started up again. i hope this helps you some what. Good luck with it.

  • IPod Touch won't charge or connect, but plays music in iPod sound system.

Thats about it. I plug my touch into my PC and it doesn't connect, yet my speakers still play music from it. I've tried another cable from my old iPod and I tried restarting the touch. What is wrong?

I just restarted my PC and it still won't connect. Now I'm nervous.

  • My front Facing camera just won't work It freezes everytime

My front Facing camera just won't work It freezes everytime

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If that's the case, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Power button on ipod touch won't work?

The Power button on my ipod touch won't work at all, any suggestions?

Okay it says here https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do that your warranty has expired, my recomendation is to either clean it out with a needle, or just keep pushing it hoping it will un-stick.
    hope this helped

  • New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3 says it needs 11.1 but I cannot load that on my macbook using OSX 10.5.8 any way around this?

New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3, says it needs 11.1 or newer but I cannot load that onto my MacBook running on OSX 10.5.8 - is there anyway around this?

No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.
    You can get 10.6.8 here:

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

  • IPod function won't work on iPhone 4

My iPod application won't work on the iPhone 4. I can play YouTube videos, listen to previews on iTunes, but for some reason whenever I hit the play button on a song in iTunes it doesn't start on any of my songs. I've tried the lyrics app to play music, I've tried powering off and restoring it by holding home and power down and still nothing, help!

Read in another thread a solution that worked for me. Basically, you need to delete the music from the phone and re-copy from iTunes with 2 syncs. In the music tab, uncheck the boxes in the playlist, artist and genre option, removing all music from the phone, then sync. Then, re-check the desired music to copy back to the phone and sync. Music should play now from the phone.
I echo the sentiment of another poster that iOS4 really is a disaster. Problem like this should have been solved before release.

  • Is it possible for your ipod just to stop working and lose all your music

I lost all my music and my itunes isnt reading that my ipod is hooked up to the computer

Is it possible for your ipod just to stop working and lose all your music
The answer to that is yes... Having the data on the device alone is a recipe for disappointment.

my mic won't work on my webcam? HELP!

OK, well you could try the "Macam" driver from here:
    http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/
...it supports lots of webcams - including some generic no-name ones from Staples!
Also: does the webcam ONLY have a USB cable? No 3.5mm minijack plug as well?
    What application are you trying?
If Skype... under the Skype Preferences menu, audio-visual tab: are there any choices on the microphone drop-down menu?
Under the Apple Menu: System Preferences: Sound - Input - are there any choices shown?

  • Ipod suddenly won't work with an FM transmitter

I have an iTrip that I used successfully plenty of times with my nano. I haven't used it in a year or so, but now when I plugged it into my ipod, the ipod says "FireWire connections are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided. Press Center to dismiss."
In the year or so that I didn't use the iTrip, my ipod froze and I had to reset it, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Anyone know why I'm getting that message now saying my iTrip won't work, when it did before? Thanks much!

If that doesn't work try this it just worked for me as i was having the same issue.
    1) Plug the Nano into the airplay and tune to the station
    2) When everything is set up, reset the Nano (hold down Menu and Select at the same time until it reboots)
    3) enjoy the music
