  • My ipod keeps pausing by its self

my ipod keeps pausing by its self and i cant get it to stop. It usually does it when i am walking with it or if i change the volume but it will just play normally if i leave it alone. I dont know what to do to fix it and it is starting to get annoying because when i change to a diffrent song it will keep pausing by its self.

It might be, for some reason, that your iPod is just really, really sensitive to movement. I noticed that in an earlier post you mentioned that if you just leave the iPod alone, it plays fine, but when you're moving with it, it pauses.
I do have one question for you, though. When you say your iPod "pauses" does the symbol on the screen physically change from the triangle (play) to the double lines (pause) or does the music just sort of hang?
    Try this:
Create a playlist (either an on-the-go playlist on the iPod, or a playlist in iTunes and then update it to the iPod).
Set the iPod down on a table, select the newly created playlist, and press play. Let the first song of the playlist play for about 30-45 seconds, and then try to pick up the iPod and walk with it. See if it still skips as much.
Also - What kind of iPod is it? Is it every song that does this, or is it a handful of specific songs that cause the problem?

my ipod touch is acting dumb!!! it keeps typing its own messages n  changing my setting all night> i  tried to restore it and after it is acting the same..HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

  • Ipod keeps restarting on its own

I just plugged my ipod into my PC, and it just keeps restarting over and over again. The apple symbol comes up and looks good, then goes dark and restarts again. Then sometimes it gets to the menu and shows the do not disconnect logo, but then restarts immediatly. It did this all night long...hours and hours....what do I do?

Take a look at the article I provided a link to in my first post. Make sure your Hold switch is set to off, and try resetting your iPod a few more times. If your computer detects your iPod, try a restore with the latest iPod Updater (version 1.1.1). If your computer doesn't detect the iPod, try forcing it into disk mode.
If the problem persists, you may have to contact Apple.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • My iPod keeps locking up my PC

I have had iPod for 12 months with no problems. I recently had to upgrade my PC, buy a new motherboard. Luckily my hard drive was OK, and I have used my old harddrive as backup for my new one, as well as the old drive holding a lot of my critical data, including my music library.
I have twice now had to restore my iPod and start again, this is fine, although I have big issues getting my iPod recognised by iTunes, I eventualy succeed in this and then some weeks later, when I come to update my iPod with new tunes etc... it locks everything up, and eventually after "Autoplay" my iTunes says that my iPod is corrupt and please restore. This takes some doing, but eventually I am able to restore it, until a few weeks down line ?
My iPod works fine on it's own, it's only when I connect to iTunes, I have done all the 5 R's etc....
    Anybody got any ideas ?
    Please !

  • Ipod touch 2g reboots its self

    hey there.
my ipod touch 2g 4.1 reboots by itself every time i go to WiFi settings .
i had the Al-Jazeera app for few days, and today it wouldn't connect to the internet.
and when i tried to enter the wifi settings it rebooted by itself.
    another thing.
for the last couple of months there's been some problems with the battery.
i'd full-charge it and it'd go empty after like 10 hours even though i didn't use it that much.
    thanks

  • IPOD RESETING ITS SELF

My ipod is just reseting its self. it keeps showing the apple logo and does nothing else but reset. i dont know whats wrong can someone help.

Mine did this aswell... my response may sound funny, but here is what's happening, and what I did to correct it. In my case, the hard drive was infinitively reseting because the needle on the drive was knocked out of place. Taking the iPod and hitting it on the palm of your hand rather firmly, corrected this issue for me... if this kind of bothers you, simply take it to your local Apple store and they'll replace it for you..

  • My ipod touch keeps turning the volume down by its self  and when i try to turn it back up it wont let me also when the sound is off the speaker that comes up when you turn it on down on the screen wont go it just stays there it doesn't go!Any ideas why?

I got my ipod for christmas this year its the 4th generation. It keeps turning the volume down by its self, when i try to turn it up it does not work. It wont let me i dont know why so i cannot play music on my ipod which defeates the reason i got it.Also when it turns the volume down its self or i on the rare occasion that the volume works and i turn it down the speaker comes up and will not go.It stays there which is making my ipod difficult to use.Its been doing this for about a week now.I used it alot and i feel lost without it haha. Does anyone know why its doing this? Or a way i can fix it? I've cheaked for updates and there is none!
    Thankyouuu
it looks like that when it is locked and when its unlocked it looks like this

Have you checked the volume button? It might be physically stuck. To determine whether a hardware repair is needed, you need to follow these steps:
    1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
After that: test the device to see whether the issue is solved.
    2. If the issue is not solved, you should backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup.
If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
    Good luck

  • Aftrer 2.0  my ipod touch keeps turning off by its self

when i got the 2.0 sometime when i press and app to use it will turn off by its self. any suggestions?

I have a same problem, not just on my iPod touch, but on my two iPhone, the original iPHone with 2.0 update, and the iPhone 3G.... (which I got for free, since it's under corporate account( and this bug is really starting to tick me off....
I am a developer who depends on both my iPod touch and the iPhones to write an app, and this bug is really starting to get into my development for the next app that I'm writing right now....

  • My iPod keeps showing the apple logo + a blank screen and the lock screen keeps freezing when trying to unlock it.

Last night I turned my iPod touch 4g off randomly and then when I went to turn it back on and went to unlock the screen it froze up right there and will not unlock to the home screen to where all my apps and all that are. Ever since that happened the iPod keeps showing the apple logo repeatedly, as well as a screen being completely blank when still turned on. Also when i plug in the iPod to the computer it recognizes it for a second but the iPod does nothing and shuts off and repeats in showing the apple logo and blank black screen. I can get it to the home screen where the slide to lock button is but every time i even attempt to slide it, it freezes up and doesn't do it.
I also having been trying to restore it by plugging in the cord and pressing the home button to get the screen with the usb cord to pop up but no matter what i do, it will not let me turn the iPod off period because every time i keep trying to do that it just shows the apple logo and all of what i said up above again. I have also seen it get a white screen to show a few times , which i assume means the white screen of death. I have never seen that screen before this happened.
I know this is not making any sense whatsoever but this is very hard to put into words in explaining. I have searched the internet but i can't find a single problem that sounds like this one in solving to fix it. The iPod is on right now as i'm typing this. I haven't attemtped to push the buttons down again to fix as i would assume maybe to just leave it alone as i sleep through the night in hopes of it maybe working or even dying. I've only had this iPod for 4 months now and i just don't understand why it won't let me turn it off completely or work properly for me to restore it.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
