IPod keeps rebooting on wake up

You know how when you let the iPod sit it "goes to sleep" so to speak. The screen goes black but as soon as you touch the wheel it wakes back up. Well mine doesn't just wake up, it reboots. And by reboot, I mean the silver apple comes up and the menu doesn't appear for a minute or so. I have it exchange at BestBuy 3 times now and it still does it.
Anyone have any clues?

How long do you leave your device?
Normally if the ipod goes to sleep, yes touching the click wheel wakes it up. However if it stays extended periods of time alone, then it does do a cold boot with the apple logo. This usually occurs if the ipod is left for a extended period of time... I forget how long it takes before the complete shut down occurs.
And if that's what is occuring, it is by design.

-I've already replaced my old 60 GB Ipod in exchange for an 80GB, I bring it home, sync it up with Itunes v7.02 and everything works fine for a while. Not even 24 hours later I go down into my artist/song directory to play a song, and it freezes again. I do the menu center key soft reboot a few times to bypass it and it works for awhile. I've tried looking for current updates for software on it, Restoring it, Resyncing and now It gets to the point everytime I unplug the ipod from charging I get back to the menu and try to play a song or video and it does nothing, it freezes everytime.
There has to be an explanation as to why my first one did it and why my new 80GB is doing it.
I've already ran a diagnosis on all the files in the ipod all of them come back clean.

My ipod is having a similar problem. The black apple logo has been the only thing I see on my ipod. I went a step farther and held the select and play/pause button to get it into disk mode. Once I am here I cannot proceed. I do not have computer that I hook it up to and have transferred the desired songs from an ex-girlfriends computer which I do not have access. What can I do once I have it in disk mode if I do not have a computer available?

hi.. when i put my new 80GB ipod on shuffle, it will play for a while (sometimes fine for many hours) and then suddenly it will reboot.
i never had this happen with my old 60GB model. i have tried removing all songs and putting them back on again, and i have reflashed the firmware. nothing seems to work.
any suggestions?

My Itouch started rebooting, when i plugged it into itune it told me I needed to restore from back up after several attemps ( I received an error 9 message) I finaly got it to restore, but it just keeps rebooting!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mod

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable or another computer

30g Ipod Video keeps rebooting

I just got the new Itunes 9.0 and synced my Ipod video as usual, but now it just keeps rebooting and is stuck on the black screen with the white apple.
I have tried (twice) going into disk mode, and restoring the Ipod, but it still has the same issue. I have also tried plugging it into a wall charger.
Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advanced!

Brand new 7th gen iPod nano -- just received today. Keeps rebooting every 5-15 seconds. I've tried reformatting, rebooting, resetting... every single "fix" I can find on the Internet and nothing works. Please HELP! Support closed for holiday...

Hey everyone I just got my wife a nano for her birthday, but it keeps rebooting on songs. I cannot go for more than 5-10 minutes before the machine buzzes off and I see apple logo on my screen. Ive tried restoring, the secret menu by holding down home,power, and pressing the vol up and down on the 2nd black screen to check the nvram. passes. But still problems on numerous syncs and restores in-between, never in any other mode but playing mp3s..
she did not save my gift reciept nor the box, can we still get a working one without doing some sort of switch-a-roo at the store.
pretty bummed out here. Its was so sweet until it started zapping off and on.

You're lucky MachRc... same situation here... 7th gen stuck in reboot infinite loop. Was xmas gift for wife 18 months ago... "Geniuses" at Apple fiddled with it for 5 minutes, said it's dead and only option is BUY a new one. Then told me I should have bought Apple Care... COME ON, if your products won't last 18 months then you really have a problem.
My solution, pulled out the 10 year old Sony Walkman mp3 player, charged it up and threw the ipod POS in the garbage... My lovely wife is now happily listening to her 10 YEAR OLD Sony product without any problems.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Why does my 60GB Ipod keep pausing?

Yes, I have the hold button on. I'm not moving the Ipod. It can just be sitting there, and then it pauses in the middle of the song, and I have to unpause it. This happens all the time. Furthermore, the Ipod keeps freezing when I turn it off, so that I have to reboot it almost every time I turn it on. I had an early-generation Ipod that never had a problem (except that it was stolen). What's going on?

My 30Gb does the same. Very annoying. I have different earphones from the standard "mug me" / "I'm a posey t**t" white buds and the slightest wiggle causes it to pause. This usually happens when I've just turned it on, it tends to settle down after a short while.

When your iPod freezes, it's not necessary to wait until the battery drains, you should just be able to reset it. If the freezing persists, then try restoring it.
Yes, you should be able to get it serviced under the warranty if the fault persists.

IPhone 5 keeps rebooting since iOS 7.1 upgrade

Since upgrading to iOS7.1 about 36-hours ago, my iPhone 5 keeps rebooting itself. I've also noticed that the screen wakes itself up (as if pressing the Home button) as often as every 10-mins.
Anyone else seeing the same/similiair thing?
Any news from Apple about a fix?

Here are the basic troubleshooting steps:

My iPad 2 keeps rebooting since the new iOS 7.0.2 update, anyone else having the same issue? What can I do to fix it that won't involve me hooking it up to computer, as mine has kicked the bucket. It's brand new in bought it this summer, it still has over 76GB Of free space.

Try a reset .
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.
