Ipod keeps restoring

Itunes keeps telling me to restore my ipod which i have done 3 times now. I have also changed the letter in disk management as well. But it just keeps telling me to restore ipod. I ended up buying new ipod and it just says connected - can't even register that one. Any ideas most welcome

Guys,
I had downloaded the latest version of I tunes on 6th of this month. The new version was installed and then the Ipod was restarted by windows. After restarting the itunes did not detect my Ipod. Then I restored my Ipod, ever since then it never started again. I just see the apple logo, then it gets reset and I see the apple logo again. I gave for servicing and I was told that my Ipod is beyond repair and they say that there is some hardware problem.
I don't know what to do. In case you get some solution then please let me know.

Is that a "recovery mode" message, littlehippie?
If so, and the iPod otherwise seems to be working fine, it's probably worth checking on a Windows drive letter confusion, as per the following document:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • Why does every 3 mths my ipod keeps on asking for a restore when i did nothing to it

  • My ipod keeps telling me to restore it

My iPod keeps telling me to restore it from the computer. When I restore it from the computer it will turn off, and go through the restore process then the same white screen pops up saying "Please restore iPod from computer" I'll get on the computer it says it dectects a ipod in recovery mode. I have restored it 5 times and the same thing keeps popping up. does anyone know whats wrong?

Try this (and ignore the troll).
Click on control panel/admin tools/computer management/disk management/right click on the iPod to re-assign the drive letter.
Choose something lower down the alphabet, say 'M' or something similar.
The iPod can be confused by any other storage devices assigned a similar drive letter even though they may not connected at the same time.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Ipod wont restore it just keeps saying to restore again

i changed the password on my ipod touch 5 and i forgot it almost immediatley! It said connect to itunes after so many password attempts so i tried that! i had never actually synced before so it required a password to connect and obviously that didnt happen because the ipod was disabled...
i tried the advice on this site and set my ipod to restore mode, and itunes began to restore it, but every time it finished, the itunes store told me that it needed to be restored again! So it just kept going in this loop although nothing was actually happening! What should i do? Please i need an answer asap

    Did you already try this?
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

  • My iPod keeps showing the apple logo + a blank screen and the lock screen keeps freezing when trying to unlock it.

Last night I turned my iPod touch 4g off randomly and then when I went to turn it back on and went to unlock the screen it froze up right there and will not unlock to the home screen to where all my apps and all that are. Ever since that happened the iPod keeps showing the apple logo repeatedly, as well as a screen being completely blank when still turned on. Also when i plug in the iPod to the computer it recognizes it for a second but the iPod does nothing and shuts off and repeats in showing the apple logo and blank black screen. I can get it to the home screen where the slide to lock button is but every time i even attempt to slide it, it freezes up and doesn't do it.
I also having been trying to restore it by plugging in the cord and pressing the home button to get the screen with the usb cord to pop up but no matter what i do, it will not let me turn the iPod off period because every time i keep trying to do that it just shows the apple logo and all of what i said up above again. I have also seen it get a white screen to show a few times , which i assume means the white screen of death. I have never seen that screen before this happened.
I know this is not making any sense whatsoever but this is very hard to put into words in explaining. I have searched the internet but i can't find a single problem that sounds like this one in solving to fix it. The iPod is on right now as i'm typing this. I haven't attemtped to push the buttons down again to fix as i would assume maybe to just leave it alone as i sleep through the night in hopes of it maybe working or even dying. I've only had this iPod for 4 months now and i just don't understand why it won't let me turn it off completely or work properly for me to restore it.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
