IPod keeps resyncing tracks for no reason.

Grrrrr. All of a sudden, and for no apparent reason. Any time i connect my ipod classic, roughly 1500 tracks decide to resync themselves, even though they haven't been played, ratings haven't been added, haven't been added to any play-lists etc. As you can imagine, it's very annoying indeed, and probably not doing the ipod's HDD lifespan any favours either.
I've tried restoring my ipod, and re-installing itunes. But alas, it's still behaving badly.
Help!!!

First, please give us some time to respond. You posted only about 12 hours ago and it sometimes takes a little time until someone with an answer logs on and reads your post.
My suggestion would be to start a brand new iTunes library and resync your entire iPod. It sounds as though there is an issue with the library file in which the "sync indicator" for these songs is not being properly set.
You can start a new library by holding down the "Shift" key while starting iTunes (Click Here to see Apple's instructions). You will then be prompted to either open a different library, or create a new one. This procedure will not over-write your old library, but will, instead, create a second library in the location of your choosing (the new folder "iTunes 1" is the default location). You then need to replicate the settings from your old library (music location, for instance) and import all of your music to the new library. Make certain the setting to "Copy files to iTunes music location" is off (you don't want two copies of all of your music files). Once all this is done, you can sync your iPod with the new library. This will erase the iPod's contents and replace it with the contents of the new library (so make certain that all of your music is there).
Keep in mind that if you choose to try this, things like play counts, ratings, etc. will not be moved to the new library.
If this does not work, or the results are unsatisfactory, you can go back to using your original library by holding the "Shift" key again and choosing your old library when prompted.
If you have any questions, please let us know.

If the reset does no work
    Try:
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Maybe the replacement is defective.

Either a bad memory/storage location that manifests its infrequently or a intermittent hardware problem like a loose connection.

  • IMac 27'' keeps powering down for no reason

After about 2 hrs of editing sometimes my iMac 27'' keeps powering down for no reason and then rebooting.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after  you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Mac mini keeps shutting down for no reason

My mac mini keeps shutting down for no reason. If I try to turn it on right after it shuts down, it won't or I may hear a chine, power light lit up for about 5 seconds and turns off. I have to wait a while before it would turn on again. And sometimes it stays on for 15 min, 2 hrs or 1 full night ... but then the cycle happens again.

Make sure the power cord is attached firmly to the back of the Mini. If so, try a clean install of Snow Leopard (or whatever version of OS X it came with). If neither of those suggestions works, it's likely a bad power supply, in which case you'll need to take it to an Apple store or call Apple support.

My ipod touch shut down for no reason. now when i try to turn it on again, it goes to the apple icon to the spinning wheel, then it repeats.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • The SSD on my MacBook Pro gen 1 keeps filling up for no reason.

I've been having a problem ever since I installed Lion where my MBP gen 1 SSD keeps filling up for no reason, then I get the "startup disk full" error and my programs freeze.  I've disabled local Time Machine backups and cleaned out the SSD as much as I could.  I've found the only way to free the space on the SSD is to repair the disk using disk utility.  But after reparing the disk, it eventually fills up again and I have to keep repairing the disk to free the space again.  Does anybody else have this problem and know what's causing it?  And is there a fix?

    Samuraijohnny wrote:
the Repair Disk utility keeps finding there's an error in the amount of free space/blocks being reported.  To me this sounds almost like a problem with Lion itself.
I asume that you ran Disk Utility [Repair] in Recovery HD.  If the error keeps recurring then it may be a bad disk.

  • ITunes application keeps popping up for no reason.

For some reason my iTunes application keeps popping up to the front of the screen to be on top of all of my other windows. this is a problem because not only does it prevent me from doing anything on my computer like type or read things, but if I am typing or doing something and listening to music, it stop the music I am playing, or switching my play list or what have you. I have tried to repair and reinstall the program but it continue to do this. Can someone help me please?

I had the same problem and I finally figured out what was causing iTunes to pop up as the active window. I use FireFox and I have the add-on Foxy-Tunes, when I disabled that iTunes would work perfectly fine! I think the problem is that iTunes just updated to iTunes 10 and Foxy-Tunes hasn't gotten an update so it works with iTunes 10 yet.
    I hope this helps!

  • Office Communicator window keeps popping up for no reason

Has anyone seen an issue with Communicator (Office 2010) popping up from a minimized position for no reason.  The user is running Windows 7 and keeps Communicator minimized.  But the window pops up for no apparent reason throughout the day and
the user is not receiving a message from anyone.
If anyone has a solution, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks very much.

    Hi,
Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features to repair the Installation of Office, check if the issue persists.
If the issue still exists, I suggest you perform a clean boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with Communicator:

    Hope some one can help.
My nokia x6 will turn its self of for no reason normally though after sending a message, battery is full charged.
also I get the problem with the camera sometimes it goes to a black screen. I have to turn it off to get it to work. As mentioned before some pics you just don't get the chance to take a 2nd time.
also with regards to the camera the button on the side of the will no longer taking pics you have to use the onscreen touch button.
also the text when writing a message will want to delete its self whilst typing.
OK the camera and the text problem aside, the phone keep shutting its self down is a major problem as IM the carer for my very ill wife. If the phone shuts down and I miss a call it could be to late for my wife receiving medical attention if IM at work and she can't get in contact with me.

you should send your device to a nokia care point for inspection
