Ipod keeps returning to power off screen,

Ever since my Ipod touch was left on and the battery died, I have not been able to use it.   I charged it and now it keeps going the the power off screen.  I  hit cancel and it promptly returns.  How do I fix it??

Connect the iPod to its syncing computer. If iTunes sees the iPod restore the iPod.
- If not seen see if resetting the iPod will make it visible so you can restore it.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next see iuf placing the iPiod in recoverymode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

My iPod keeps trying to power off ,have done restores ect

What do you mean by "trying to power off"?
If you restored to factory defaults/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod Keeps Asking To Power Off

Basically my iPod keeps asking me to "slide to power off", and it usually happens only when i use the speaker volume. So in order for it not to say anything i have to have the volume off.(which isn't the solution i wanna hear)
Any way I can fix this?
I've already tried restoring my iPod and i have searched Google for a solution, so far nothing. *Returning or Sending it in to Apple is not an Option* But if that's the only answer/solution then thanks.

I have this SAME problem. When I'm using my 32 gb iPod Touch, currently, it will turn off automatically, and CONSTANTLY asks me to power off. When i hit CANCEL, it will shut off. It's starting to really **** me off. I have done a restore, and yet, continues.
If anybody could help, it would be much appreciated.

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • 3rd gen iPod Touch (refurb) keeps asking to power off.

Hi, just purchased the above for my son and it keeps going to the slide to power off screen without pressing the off button. This occurs sometimes every few seconds (you can just hit cancel ok and it does)then stops. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all. Is this a setting somewhere? I have searched but cannot find anything. Help!

    - First try resetting your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to restore from backup via iTunes
    - Then restore to factory defaults/new iPod via iTunes
    - Last would be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare.

  • TS1702 My garage band app has crashed & keeps returning to the main screen when I try to open it... I've tried most of the trouble shooting options with the exception of re-installing the app, because I fear I will lose a number of recent projects I have

My garage band app has crashed & keeps returning to the main screen when I try to open it... I've tried most of the trouble shooting chart (no updates available, tried restarting app, restarted device) all I have left is to re-install the app... My main fear is that if I do this I will lose a load of recent projects that are saved to the app that I've spent the last few days creating... Help...

I have tried all those things I even updated the software to the new iOS system and it still did fix my problem.
What happened is that my garage band looks like it will open then it shuts down.
I have lot of important things on my garage band and I'm afraid that if I uninstall it deleting it then reinstalling it all my work on it will be gone and I can't have that happen.
Everyday I am hoping that when i go to open the app that is will work but it doesn't it gets ready to turn on then it shuts off , the app doesn't even open all the way and turns off.
I really hope I don't have to erase it.
It'll say it's ,lading my songs then it shuts down .
If I waited for the App Store to come up with an update for garage band should I wait till then to update my app so it doesn't get damaged . I don't want to erase it and all my data get erased . I figured if I wait for an update then my garage band will reset itself but won't delete my data. I'm not sure if that will help. Is there anything you or anyone else might know that can help me with this matter ?
    Thank you

  • How to resolve "you need to power off" screen looping

I fitted a new hard drive to my MacBook.  Have restored from a Time Machine back-up.  I have the "you need to power off" screen but every time I power off and power back on I first get the Apple logo screen and then the "you need to power off" screen.
I have read elsewhere it is probably caused by restoring a Snow Leopard backup using a Leopard disc.  So I think I need to do the restore again but can't get out of the "you need to power off" loop....

  • Camera going to "Slide to power off" screen

Yesterday, as I was taking a video, after about 2 seconds of recording my phone would pop up the "Slide to power off" screen. When I hit cancel, it went back to my home screen. I tried this a few more times and it happened again and again. I then power cycled the phone and it did it again. This would happen for both the video and still camera. It finally went away and now I can not duplicate the problem.
Do I need to take it into the Apple store?
    iPhone 4 with 4.2.1OS.
    Thanks.

So no one has experienced this? Please let me know if you have.
    Thank you

  • Hello I just barely updated my iPhone software to the ios7 and it's stuck on the power off screen asking to connect USB to iTunes. How is it for me to continue past that?

Hello can someone please help me solve my issue to my iPhone update iOS 7 software. I updated it and now it's stuck in the power off screen showing an demonstration of the USB connection plug with an arrow pointing towards the iTunes logo. How do I go from there?

    Hey Bianca71,
Thanks for the question, I understand how frustrating this may be. It sounds like the update process may have been interrupted, and to resolve the issue, we’ll need to restore your device in recovery mode with iTunes:

  • Odd iPhone 4S Power off Screen

Hello, I got a new iPhone for my mom and was setting it up for her.  At one point, I got an odd screen on the 32 GB white phone.  I was downloading some of the apps that she wanted (QVC, facebook, etc).  At one point, the screen showed a different "power off screen"?  The screen was black with the letters "power off" at the top of the screen, it said "touch here" or something like that.  I touched the home button and it went away.  It hasn't come back at all.  This was a brand new phone and this weird screen came up.  It hasn't again and now I'm starting to wonder if I was seeing something???  Anyhow, did anyone else ever experience this?  The phone works fine.....just wondering.....thanks
    JJS

I bought the phone directly from Apple via the apple store  So I'm assuming it's not fake and/or jailbroken ( I don't even know how or care to do so). Could they have resold it as new and it was at some point?  That would be disappointing or is that something apple does?

  • Suddenly power off screen came on

All of the sudden, the power off screen came up asking me to power off the phone. When I clicked cancel, it went back to the home screen and I pressed the home button, it kept taking the picture on the screen and went back to the sxreen asking me to power off the phone. Or just frequently comes up the power off screen. If I did power off the phone and turn the phone on, it will be fine for a few days and it happened again. This had started to happen a numbers of time since April.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer..)
    Release the Buttons...
    Note:
Also consider Deleting any Apps you have Purchased / Downloaded but you now never use...
