Ipod keeps skipping? help
Hiya
i have a 30gb ipod.
When playing a playlist it plays only part of the song before jumping onto the next one. some times its 10secs other times its near the end of the song and anywhere inbetween.
can anyone help?
I have the exact same issue with a 5th Gen iPoad with 30GB. I also posted it on this forum without any reply. There doesn't seem to be any contact with apple support. Question: how do problems get resolved? - How does apply support stay in touch with its customers? Does apple have any support?

My iPod keeps skipping songs halfway through
my iPod keeps skipping songs halfway through. Its 1st gen firmware 1.1.5
Assuming the songs play OK on the computer
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Update the iPod
To update
The Settings>General>Software Update comes with iOS 5 and later.
Connect the iPod to your computer and update via iTunes as far as your iPod model allows

My Ipod Keeps Skipping tracks!! HELP!
my ipod keeps skippping songs when im playing one of my playlists!. it only plays any recently added songs and i have resest it but it doesnt do anything. Is it because i often charge it through the computer????...HELP!!....
I, too, amd having the same problem! When I have my 20GB iPod in "Shuffle Songs" mode and I hit the "next song" button, it will sometimes skip the next song, or the next two songs, or even skip 5 songs before settling on one to play -- this is getting to be really frustrating!!!

I can't play my music, it keeps skipping when I tap on it. I tried everything and nothing is working. Thank you so much in advance. I appreciate it!
If your music was purchased in iTunes you can always redownload it for free... but without any backups.. there's no other way to get the music back.

While i was listening to my ipod (it was in my pocket) i accidentally knocked the buttons. Now when i play my songs it just skips every song. Only when i press pause it stops but when i press play it starts skipping really fast again.
I think this is something to do with the settings. I tried using the "Reset All Settings" button but it still does it. Any help someone can give me on how to stop it skipping would be great. Thanksdo these links offer any help?

My ipod keeps skipping purchased tunes!!!!
Can anyone help, my daughter has an ipod mini and its skipping all her bought itunes. Why? Shes driving me nuts!!
I was havng the same problem except my iPod was getting locked up on the purchased tunes. I have found out a way around it although it is a little labor intensive.
Itentify all the songs that won't play on the iPod.
Copy them to a playlist and then burn them to a CD.
Eject then CD and then put it back in and iTunes should recognize the songs to import. Import the songs back into your library. This should create 2 copies of each of the imported songs. Once imported right click on one songs and left click on Get Info and check to see if it is a protected AAC audio file. If so repeat the previous step on the other copy of the song. Once you find the file that is a non protected AAC audio file drag and drop that one on the iPod. This process fixed my problem. Hopefully fixes yours. By the way Apple will not help too much with this problem I think they thought I was making this up. -
My iPod keeps skipping over songs?
I know they're all the right format, because they were working recently. Not too long ago, I got a few new songs and went to put them on my iPod, as usual.
When it finished syncing, I played the first song and it just skipped to the next song instantly, it kept skipping songs before it stopped on one and played it. When I hit the button to go to the next song, it did it again before stopping in another.
I've completely wiped and restored it three times, but nothing changed. I've checked the files of the songs and they're all normal - like I said, they all worked until I did a recent sync to add new music. But the files of the new songs are the same as the others. Nothing is out of the ordinary.
This was the best I could describe this, hope someone can understand and help me out.
It's quite frustrating having an iPod that won't play music.Assuming a PC I would try:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 -
When i want to play a certain song on my iPod, depending on the song, it'll skip it and go on to the next song. It seems to be skipping the songs i listen to the most. Is there a way I can fix this?

My ipod keeps skipping over the songs
i tried to plug my ipod into a different computer and so i did then it got all messed up i cant listen to my music they skip songs the new ones i buy dont skip its just the old ones i put from my cds skip and some that i bought from the itunes store i dont want to resore it beacuase ive spent about 150 ta 200 dollars on songs and videos but how can i get this to stop or if i send it to apple how long will it take for me to get it back
"i dont want to resore it beacuase ive spent about 150 ta 200 dollars on songs and videos"
And you don't have a back up of these items?
If not, you're in a spot of trouble here because either way (a restore or a return to Apple) will result in all the files on the iPod being erased. -
My ipod keeps skipping entire albums!!
Is it possible to geta virus in your i pod?? cause i downloaded a bunch of "FAKE" free songs and now it won't play any of my songs from my cd's i selecta song and then it skipps to the next then the next and the next ect. until the end of the album it won't play ANY of the songs from a cd the place where i got theese "Free" songs is EZ-Tracks
Have you tried restoring the iPod then reloading all your genuine music?
How to restore the iPod to factory settings.
The iPod has a hard drive just like a computer, so in theory it's possible to store anything on there (including a virus). Restoring it would return it to it's factory condition. -
As said in the title,my ipod keeps skipping songs. but it also won't download the songs i buy off it on the itunes app on my ipod.I would really love some help because this ipod was expensive and i use it all of the time. thank you:)

I have no idea what to do my iPod keeps skipping completely over my purchased songs please help. Thanks.
This exact thing happened to me and what I did was that I went to my itunes an unchecked all of the songs that were skipping. Then I synced my ipod without those songs. That seemed to fix the problem but just to make sure I rechecked all of my songs and synced again and everything is working fine now

My iPod nano skips some songs for no apparent reason
When i try to play songs on my iPod nano 7th gen, it skips some of them without playing.
The album art and track name shows up for a split-second and then it goes to the next track. Sometimes it skips several tracks by the same artist at a stretch. The songs the ipod keeps skipping play perfectly on iTunes. I tried erasing all the songs and sopying them again, but it didn't solve the problem. (I haven't tried restoring the ipod yet)Hi there,
You may want to check and see if the shake to shuffle feature is enabled. Take a look at the article below for more information.
