IPod keeps taking screen shots by itself

I've tried rebooting and restoring to its factory settings on numerous occassions... It still hasn't helped.
Also, whenever I open an app or anything it goes right back to the home screen then to the search option
The buttons don't seem to be stuck or anything either.

When restoring to factory defaults/new iPod does not solve the problem it is likely due to a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • IPod touch keeps taking screen shots

Is there a way to shut off the screen shot feature? My touch is continually taking screen shots - this happens when I'm touching it and when it's sitting in a stationary position. I have removed the cover to eliminate the chance that the power button and menu button are being pushed at the same time. Wondering if I have a faulty touch? Touch also has trouble starting up - have to press the power button at least three times before screen turns on.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Sadly, I was suspecting the actual *application procedure* may have created the problem and not the film itself. Perhaps some of the application fluid got into the crack near the Home button and gummed it up. I don't know what you could do to fix that either.

    helppp
i keep talking screen shots but they dont show up on my desktop and i dont know how to find them!

I have the same problem. One of the reliable things about Apple OSX, that we could count on screenshots being simple. Then DropBox came along. I suspect DropBox is the culprit here. I don't mind, even am grateful if DB captures my captures, but who gave them permission to totally changes my whole universe!!?

I've been taking screen shots for years and opening them from my desktiop. Suddenly, today, I've lost the ability to open them. I can right click on the picture and do "quicklook", but that's it. They just won't open.
Similary, if I scan an image and save it as a PDF file in pictures, I'm suddenly not able to open it either!
    Why?

Move the com.apple.screencapture.plist file out of /username/Library/Preferences/ to the Desktop, log out and back in, and try again.
BTW, use the default 10 point setting for text. Your choice just wastes screen space.

  • Restricting user from taking printout, copying and taking screen shots

    Hi,
In KM,   is it possible to restrict the user with read permission from taking printout, from copying the document, from taking screen shots for a document.
If possible , how to achieve it.
        All helps will be appriciated.
    Regards,
    Shanthakumar.

    Hi,
Once the user has read permission and able to view the document, there is no possibility to stop this user from taking printout, copying and making screen shots.

  • How do I print a long chat session, without taking screen shots?

I need to print a chat thread going back about 4 months. I'd like to avoid the tedious process of scrolling to the beginning and taking screen shots. Is there a way to send the entire thread to a printer or request a transcript from Verizon?

This should help! Its a program that will allow your computer to extract your itunes backup message files, and put them out as printable documents.

    - Are you also having problems with the Home button?  Maybe it is sticking a little since to take a screen shot you depress the Home and Power/Sleep buttons at the same time.
    - I have not seen your problem discussed here before.
    - I would first try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to restore the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • How to delete photos from iPod after making screen shot?

    Hello!
I just figured-out how to take screen shots with the ipod... And was playing with it for a while! heh heh
Now I have a bunch of screen shots saved to my ipod, is there a way to delete them with out connecting to iTunes?
    Any tips are appreciated.

On a Mac, iPhoto launches automatically if there are Saved Photos. In Windows XP, there's a "new device" dialog where you can select the Scanner & Camera Wizard (no view files option in XP, unlike Vista), or you can go to My Computer and you'll see an Apple® iPod device (the only thing accessible will be the Saved Photos).
I think we've covered all the OSs now.
    Hope this helps...

  • Iphone 5 taking screen shots by only pressing on/off button

I know it's supposed to take screen shots if you hold down the home button and the on/off button together, but my phone is taking a screen shot every time I turn it off (i.e., without pressing the home button).  Anyone seen this issue?

Maybe the home button is stick.  Try
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).

  • Not Taking screen shots

Hi, i have a mac mini, and a third party keyboard. whenever i try to take a screenshot, nothing happens. the keyboard is connected to a hub. does anyone know what to do? i have tried to connect it directly to the mac, but it doesn't help.

If you open the "Keyboard Shortcuts" tab of the Keyboard & Mouse System Preferences, you can change the shortcut for taking a screen shot to whatever you like. If Windows-shift-3 wasn't working before, maybe you can just change it TO Windows-shift-3?

  • OTM not taking screen shots specified in openscript steps

When i record a script for EBS in OpenScript, at the beginning of each step, a screen shot is taken and can be seen in the results in OpenScript. But when the same script is scheduled in OTM, it does not capture the screenshots. Those are not even seen in the folder where OTM saves the script results. C:\OracleATS\otm\Temp\1358971798821
is there some setting i am missing?
    Thanks

Does it pop up in the middle of the screen, or the upper right corner?
If it's in the upper right corner, it is most likely notifications (email, messages and various other apps will send you notifications when you receive emails, messages, or other items).  They pop up for 5 seconds by default, and if you are watching a movie in full screen, they might bleed through, but quickly disappear as the movie refreshes the screen.  You can show your list of notifications by clicking on the far right icon (looks like a text list) on the tool bar at the top (or by doing a 3-finger swipe from right to left on the touchpad).
Notifications are the only pop up boxes I'm getting, but then again, I don't have a lot of 3rd party software installed.
