IPod Menu mysteriously gets changed while connected to computer overnight

This is the second day of owning my first iPod and I left it connected to the USB port on my computer to charge overnight. When I got up this morning, I found that it was in the middle of an update and it instructed me not to disconnect the iPod. I let it finish its update (though I couldn't imagine what it might be updating), and after I disconnected it, I found that my main menu was significantly altered (it only showed about 3 or 4 choices). After fiddling around with it for a few minutes, I found I was able to reset the main menu and everything seemed to pretty much be back to normal.
But my question is why it would do this in the first place? Is this something I'm going to have to deal with every time I leave it connected to the computer overnight or is there some way to prevent this from happening?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

It's no different from the iPad 1 in that regard. When connected to a computer via USB it should charge when sleeping only. Hit the sleep button and leave it for a while to see if that works. It's much slower charging that way than using the actual charger.
Not all USB's are powered, or powered enough, so what the previous poster said could also be the case.

I have added configuration file path also i copied log4j file to xlClient from JBOSS_HOME/server/default but still i am getting this exception.

The new log4j JAR file has to be named exactly the same way the previous one was named (log4j-1.2.8.jar I think).

IPod plays only while connected to computer

I handed my Ipod (10GB dock connector) to a clumsy giant the other night and he dropped it. I immediately got the dreaded "!-folder icon." I tried resetting; that's when the ipod started clicking, restarting and restarting ad infinitum, and then... finally--the !-folder icon again. So I tried restoring using the software on my hard drive. At first, the ipod didn't appear on the desktop or in iTunes when I connected using Firewire, so there wasn't any apparent way to restore. After disconnecting from the computer and several resets, I decided to put the ipod in drive mode. I reconnected and the ipod icon showed up on the desktop. I tried restoring but it didn't work. I used the Apple Disk Utility on my Powerbook to verify the drive and it said it was OK. Unable to do anything, else, I used the ERASE feature in Disk Utility, reformatting to Mac OS Extended as prescribed (I did not create any partitions). I was then able to do an ipod software restore, and finally managed to put some mp3's on the gadget. As soon as I disconnected I got the !-Folder again and the infernal clicking. I reconnected, and a pop-up window told me that I needed to update the ipod to the latest version. I did. I then opened iTunes: the ipod played as long as it was connected to the computer. I ejected the ipod and tried to operate it, but still the !-folder and clicking. Tried another reset (Menu-Play/Pause-6 seconds), but still the dreaded folder and more clicking. Connected to the computer again and pop-up window tells me I need to update ipod to latest software version--AGAIN!!! I update again but updater never indicated completion of update. Disconnect. Reconnect. Same pop-up!!! I bypass pop-up and open iTunes. Songs still play. But when I disconnect I only get the !-folder. And everytime I reconnect, I am told to update. I have updated several times. I have even downloaded the most recent (Sept 2005) Ipod updater and updated. And then I updated to iTunes 5 when I discovered that while I was updating...and updating...,Apple had also updated iTunes. After all this, the ipod only works while connected to Powerbook, and Disk Utility still says the disk is OK. But I still am asked to update every time I connect, and the ipod refuses to work solo. It just clicks at me.
Can anyone help?

It sounds like a battery issue to me. When you connect it to the PC it draws power from the computer and thus it is able to function. Apparently it doesn't have enough of its own juice anymore. You probably just need a new battery.

yes, I had resolved this problem. It requires some configuration in ume database of the WebAS, where UCES application is hosted.
1) Create a user in ume.
2) Assign group "Everyone" and "Authenticated Users" to the user
3) Within Customized Information tab, create the mapping between your web user, reference user and business partner.
fscm_refuser: Use reference user id. ( user id to login to ISU system )
objtype_0: BUS1006
objkey_0: User business partner details ( business partner number in ISU)
If there is no customized Information tab, then open visual administrator and do the following.
1) Navigate to Services->Configuration Adapter
2) Click on Runtime tab -> Display configuration
3) Navigate to cluster_data -> server -> cfg -> services -> Propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service
4) Add the following in ume.admin.addattrs.

IPod Freezes, I Reset It, Then Get Message To Connect To Computer...?

So, I went on vacation and tried playing a movie. About 8 minutes into the movie, the movie froze, so I did a reset on the iPod and it turned back on with a white screen and black text to connect to a computer.
Since I was on vacation, I couldn't do that, so when I got to the hotel, I plugged it into the wall and the iPod came back on.
Tonight, I was coming home on the plane and watched the end of one show and went to play another, when the same thing happened.
What is going on? Why does it keep freezing and giving me this message?
I have not downloaded the latest 1.2 update - could this be the culprit? I am using iTunes 7. Yet, some things work and others do not?

A restore deletes everything off of the iPod.
Do you have everything on your computer?
Why don't you try a reset first. I doubt it will help, but it's worth a try, and doesn't delete your music...

Ipod touch 4 gets hot while using some apps like angry birds?

Is it normal for the upper back of the ipod touch 4 to get hot while using some apps like angry birds? Is this a potential battery problem? It doesnt get hot while charging or playing songs... Just when using some game apps. I assume that it has something to do with battery drain, should I be concerned?

When the iPod is used heavily like for games it is norma for the iPod to get warm. Unless you hav short battery life I would not be concerned.

When u press enter the value has been changed to .045.Is this u r problem.
U can do onething anu.
Declare one varaible with the local field.
Pass u r quantity field value into that variable.
While displaying thriugh SET_TABLE_FIRST_DISPLAY in your internal table pass this variable.
It will solve u r problem.I think.

TaxCode Determination in Adminstration > Setup > Finance > TaxCode Determination.
If so, delete those and check.

Screen get changed while clicking on button in enhancement CEWB_TSK_SCREENS

Hello Everybody
I am implementing one BAdI CEWB_TSK_SCREENS for customizing in CEWB transactions and I have developed one screen for that.
I have one table control on the same screen and I am providing some buttons like 'DELETE' 'CREATE' or 'DISPLAY' to perform some activity on table control.
But whenever I clicked on button the screen get changed and it sets to some other screen.
Can anybody help me out on the same?

IPod HDD never spins down when connected to computer

I've got a two-week old iPod.
I've selected "Manually manage music and videos" in the iPod options in iTunes.
Whenever my iPod is connected to my MacBook, the iPod's HDD is constantly spinning, and the backlight is always turned on. (I've got it set to turn off after 10 seconds when using it while not connected to the computer.)
Is this always-spinning HDD/always-on backlight normal behavior for an iPod connected to a computer?
I tried the "Five Rs," but nothing changed.

Just got back from the Apple Store, where they gave me a replacement iPod for the one that wasn't spinning down while connected and charging to the computer.
Got home, tried the new one--and the same thing. The backlight remains on and the hard drive spins away while it's connected to the computer.
Am I doing something wrong? Is this actually normal behavior for iPods that are enabled for disk use rather than to sync?

Just bought a used Ipod touch and I am unable to get it to be recongized by itunes or my computer (MacBook pro using Lion).
Computer - Itunes all updated. I tried to restore unit (sleep and hold buttons) but I can't get past he "connect to Itunes" screen.
Same result on two other windows computers.
USB cord does work for charging the unit (in wall outlet, not from computer). Is there a different cord for older units? (I'm using the one with my Iphone 4)

IPod Classic 80 GB Freezes when connecting to Computer

Hi.
My iPod Classic 80 GB Freezes when connecting to my computer (Vista... yes... I know). I've got my iPod for over a year now and I've never had real trouble with it.
When I plug it in (iTunes already running) my computer gives me the 'thumbthumb' noise because an USB thingamajib is connected to the computer. At this moment my iPod freezes and stays on. iTunes doesn't seem to find my pod. When I disconnect my iPod, it'll stay on (doesn't go energy safe mode) and stays frozen until the battery is empty. But by then, I've already lost my playing info (Which I really value).
Pllllllease help me out her.

Someone has finally found a solution to this problem and i decided that i would spread the word around ... so here are the steps:
1) Quit iTunes.
2) Delete iTunes from your Applications folder.
3) Go to your ~/Music/iTunes folder. Delete or rename the "iTunes Library" file.
4) Open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and look for the backup of your old pre-9 library; it should be dated at about the time you first ran iTunes 9. Copy it back out to the ~/Music/iTunes folder, and rename it to "iTunes Library".
6) Go to <http://support.apple.com/downloads/iTunes8_21> and download iTunes 8.2.1. The page says it's for G3, but the Read Me file says it'll run on G4, G5, and Intel too. Open the diskimage and run the installer.
You should now be able to run iTunes 8.2.1 again.
And your iTunes will restore to before you upgraded and you won't lose anything.
