IPod messed up. Don't know why. Please help.

My iPod has been acting messed up for about a week. Everytime I try to restore it on iTunes it doesn't seem like it does anything. Please give me some advice.

Also, when I do go through restore after taking a break from it, first it says my iPod is corrupted then after the second time it just says it is in recovery mode until I get tired and later come back and start the whole process over again.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

The serial number will not help you locate it.
IF you turned on the find my iPhone feature on the iPhone itself, then go to iCloud.com
If you did not, then you cannot locate it.

if it keeps asking for the password again just write "0000", add the controller to your favorites, close bluetooth before asked for a password again, and the open bluetooth again

Cannot connect remotely, setup is correct but did not try port mapping, i don,t know how please help

could someone please point me to the possible areas on my server where i can check why i cannot connect remotely. I have been trying for the past two months without success. i did not tru port mapping cause I don;t know how to do this and I was told that port mapping on my time machine is done automatically. I am running a mac mini lio server 10.7.3 Time capsule.

To properly close Firefox on your Mac use "Firefox" button -> Quit Firefox, and not with the "X" in corner of window which simply closes the window and not necessarily Firefox.

Windows swapping over - don't know why. Help

usually when I have programs open I can have them all on the screen e.g. I have photoshop open and Safari open and both remain on the screen, one over the other, whichever I am looking at. But all of a sudden, this isn't happening anymore, when I have photoshop open and then I open a Safari window, the Photoshop is snapping off the screen. I don;t know how I've managed to make this happen, but I don't want the programs snapping on and off the screen; any idea how to stop this?

It could be that each application is somehow opening separately in one of the Spaces panes. Go to System Preferences/ Spaces and uncheck "Enable Spaces" and see if it still happens after you've done that.

Trying restore my phone after the update and it's asking for a backup file password that I don't know. Please help!

After installing the latest update from apple my iPhone 4 will not complete the restore process with out a backup password. I don't recall ever setting up a backup password and there is no help button if you can't find the password. Apparently I'll loose all my data and have to set the phone up as a new phone. This is very frustrating.

Ipod photo won't mount to itunes - please help me! i'm desperate!

Thanks in advance to whomever reads this and answers... I've been fighting with my ipod for over 12hrs now (over 3 days) and am VERY frustrated!
here are my details:
20 gig ipod photo
Windows XP
itunes 7
Problem:
itunes told me it needed to be restored. So, I went through the process, but when I plugged it back into the computer (after plugging it into the wall socket), I found that it won't mount in itunes! BUT, I can see it in Windows explorer.
Have tried:
- changing disk drive
- uninstall, reinstall, reinstalling from CD (with old version)
- restore (when it was coming up in itunes)
- different usb ports
- fiddling with resets and disk mode
Things to note:
- in Windows Explorer it now comes up as IPOD instead of VANESSA'S IPOD. I don't know why!
- when I plug it into the computer it seems completely happy - it's charged, is flashing the do not disconnect... everything normal! And, when it's not plugged in, I'm able to browse through the menus like normal - the only problem really appears to be that itunes won't recognise it.
I kind of feel like I've been trying a lot of different things, and maybe not in the right order? It feels like something really small that I'm missing...
If you have any ideas or suggestions, please please PLEASE let me know... as I said, I'm desperate...

"Your email account" means to tap on the name of your email account. Whatever it is listed as in the settings.
In my mail settings, one of my email accounts is a Comcast account. I tap on the Comcast name and it brings up this window.
Then I tap on the arrow under the Outgoing mail server smtp setting to get to the next window.
In the resulting window, I then tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Primary Server setting.
That brings up this window in which I check to make sure that my user name and password have been entered correctly. If those items are missing, enter them in the appropriate fields and then tap done.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
