IPod messes up every time I update.

Hey all. I have an iPod touch 3rd Generation. I just updated it yesterday to the new iOS. When I updated it gave me an error message saying (usually 9 or 37) and told me I'd have to restore my iPod. I had to restore it on a totally different computer...because it won't restore on my laptop. It has no problems restoring on the other computer, then I add all my stuff (apps/music/videos, etc) back on from my laptop. I have this issue every time I update my iPod. Am I the only one out there with this problem??

Sounds like some kind of conflict.
Next time, try turning off any anti-virus or spyware software. Also, try plugging it into a different USB port - and don't use a hub. Be sure you are using a 2.0 USB cable.
Maybe that will solve your problem.

Your system is missing a couple DLLs that LR needs, but the fix at Adobe is to copy them to the LR folder which gets replaced for each install, so you have to redo it after each LR install. It would be worth documenting the process and saving the DLLs so you don’t have to ask about it each time:

You might also use the AIO210 program to add them as detailed in this YouTube video—maybe this is a more permanent fix, but since the files are from media-fire be very careful about what you do so as not to install a virus on your computer.
I’d scan the downloaded ZIP you download with whatever virus and internet security software you have and don’t be fooled by extraneous popups you might see during the download process. I was able to download the aio210.zip after authorizing one Captcha window and closed at least one bogus popup trying to get me to install other software. How can my ex on a separate plan with a separate apple id receive my iMessages every time an update or phone change happens?

Every time an update happens or we change phones my ex's iPhone and mine get linked somehow and he receives my messages. If we are no longer using the same apple id and are on separate phone plans how can this be happening? I have changed my password but this keeps happening. We do not share a computer for it to be iTunes? I have called and got it fixed, but it happens repeatedly anyway...any ideas?

Once our information was appearing under each other's iMessages so we went to the apple store and called the phone service and they said it was fixed, but it happened again. Their information is no longer under my iMessage; however, they are receiving my iMessages with every update and I am not able to know if my information is showing under theirs. my ipod mini dies every time our power goes out.it has been working great with a new(ipodjuice/milliamp)battery, but we've had 2 power outages since, and it shows no signs of life for days and then suddenly next time i pick it up the logo is showing and we're back to normal.we've got a safety switch on our mains circuit board, every electronic gadget is plugged into surge protector power board, and yet this happens every time. the ipod lives on its no-brand charger/speaker-could this be the culprit? & now it's got a new battery it takes forever to fully discharge & come back to life.

The HD is 500GB. I think by default 2% or 10GB is reserved for restore points. Once the limit is reached the restore points are overwritten - last in, first out. I have a preferred restore point established that I'd like to be preserved.
My concern is the way in which Windows Update is used to update MSE definitions. Everytime (daily) MSE AV definitions are D/L it creates another restore point. Eventually it will overwrite the restore point I established. I guess I can always remove the restore points MSE creates using CCleaner or use a different AV program but it's something that should have been addressed by MS. They should have provided users with the option of not having MSE create restore points. I know I can always turn the feature off altogether and create restore points manually but there are times when having a restore point created automatically can come in handy - like when installing a program for example.
Aside from this issue I've also noticed other little annoyances throughout the Windows 7 / 64bit - Home Premium OS.
I'm sure I'll discover more annoyances with this OS over time.

If I click on the one for yahoo, Firefox says UNRECOGNIZED.

Stop Installing MCafee Antivirus every time you update!

Getting really tired of having to uninstall this garbage every time you update. I am updating flash, which is annoying enough as one of the most nonsecure programs on the internet. Piling more garbage on top of it is just insult.
Please give an option to not install McAfee. I don't need it.

Installer update method changes every time i update an adobe product!

hello, it is REALY anoying, that the user have to set/chose the update method e.g. "Notify me to install updates" EVERY TIME you update adobe products!!! Because Adobe Installer resets these settings every time, they offer a new product update (adobe flash or adobe reader e.g.).
I dont wont to "Allow Adobe to install updates"!!! I only want to be notified about new updates! So I have to read every time the options again to choose the right option.
Another alternative would be to me, not to install product updates, but I think this is not what adobe wants the user should chose.

Every time I update iOS caller ID is deactivated in Settings > Phone > Show my caller ID
That means that I have to activate the setting after every update. Why is this bug happening, can I do anything to prevent it, and how will I notify Apple about this error?

Speaking very generally, each update of any software tends to have a few more features than its predecessor, and should be expected to take more space.
But putting that aside, if you get told "I didn't have any more MB left!", then there is a real issue, because you should never allow your iPad to get that close to being full. At a minimum, you should keep 10-15% of the space free.
