IPod Mini looking for missing owner.

April 19, 2006 I stayed at a hotel in Hollywood and on the desk was an iPod Mini, well, I pondered whether to take it or to leave it, upset at the hotel I took it.
Feeling bad since then I am now looking for the rightful owner.
If you can correctly identify the color, the engraving, the name of the iPod, and the serial number, I will ship it to you.

If you turn on the mini and goto settings>about, you may be able to find some small details on whos Mini it is. Most people will name there ipod by there own name, so if its bo's ipod he might of named it that. Maybe if you eamil apple about this with the S/N they will pull the records up on there side and be able to send it to them. Since your on a mac, you can also see if its formated for a mac and maybe see some pics of the person so you know your giving it to the rightful owner.

Ipod mini looking for "IE Temp movie file"

Anyone have an idea out of this problem. Everytime I go to update songs it says that it needs a "temp movie file" to play movie. I dn't have any movies on my ipod. That wouldn't be such a problem, but it locks up my POD.

Ipod mini formatted for mac not recognized by PC

I have an ipod mini that was formatted on an ibook at work. i no longer have access to that computer and tried to connect the ipod to my PC. my pc does not see the ipod either under my computer or in itunes. i think it's a mac formatted ipod and i would like to restore it to windows, but it appears i need to have itunes find it in order to restore it. what do i do now?

First, put the iPod into forced disk mode.
See: How to put the iPod into disk mode.
Now can iTunes see it?
If not, you could try a format of the iPod in Windows.
On your PC, go "my computer" and right click on the iPod, then choose "format". Ensure the settings are at "default" and choose "quick format".
When that's finished, restore the iPod using the updater in iTunes.
To exit forced disk mode, reset the iPod.

Best way to look for missing sequencial numbers in infocube?

I'm looking for some ideas on the best way to do the following:
The characteristic transaction number is in a cube by day, store, and register. I need to ensure there isn't a missing transaction number across days...
Example:
5/16        Store: 5     Register: 1       Txn: 12345
5/16        Store: 5     Register: 1       Txn: 12346
5/17        Store: 5     Register: 1       Txn: 12348
(So in the example above txn 12347 is missing.)
We are talking about 300,000 transactions per day
First Idea:
I was thinking about using an infopackage to extract the 2 days from the cube(600,000 records) and I could use ABAP in the start routine to figure out if there is a missing txn. Would that work? I vaguely remember something about a start routine only having access to a package, not the whole dataset.
Second Idea:
Is there a way to have a query get the last txn # from previous day and the first txn # from the current day? Then I could use a workbook with VBA to figure out the missing txns.

Not sure if the following method is the most intelligent, but worth a try if you have no better way...
1) Create a query with required variables (like Register, Calendar Day etc) placed in the free characteristics and the Txn Number placed in the rows. If the Txn number is a characteristic, from the properties, choose SORT ASCENDING. Else you can use listcube t-code and sort the output in the ascending order, then save the list as a local file (excel sheet) onto the desktop.
2) Create a separate Excel file with the transaction numbers in ascending order (assuming that you know the txn number range for those days in the period of interest). This is very easy to do in Excel especially since they will be in order (type 1 txn and drag it downwards which will increase the number serially).
3) Now that you have two files (first one is the as-is records and the second one ideal records) compare these two files using a software like <a href="http://www.scootersoftware.com/beycomp_062808.exe">Beyond Compare</a>. I have used this software before and found it to be useful.

Looking for the owner

Yesterday, I found a Verizon Sony Ericsson Xper and am trying to find out how I can return it to the owner.
Obviously I cannot get into the device without the code etc. to look for any phone number.
Who could I call for help in finding the owner?

Sorted.
Contacted Verizon. Told me there is a MED (?) number under the battery. They checked that number for the owner. I then took it to the nearest Verizon store where they will contact the owner.

Startup hang looking for missing file

DVD SP 4.2
Hangs looking for a file it can't find.
'stop" won't stop it.
reinstalled and it does the same.
i guess its a file from a previous job that's been deleted.
how to fix?

Are you clicking on a prior project to open DVD SP (it sounds like it)
If so, just try launching the application directly.
If that does not help, delete DVD SP preferences and/or repair permissions and try again. (Though you mentioned you reinstalled the app coulkd be something else then - did you get all updates?)
repairing permissions -> go to Utilities folder open up disk utilty and then the first Tab is first aid. Highlight the disk then select repair disk permissions.
As to preferences delete the file User->Library-Preferences->com.apple.dvdstudiopro.plist and also com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist if needed
As an aside on prior projects you should be able to skip past the missing files, though if you have many files or bought in reference movies from Final Cut, it can take a long time

Ipod mini charger for 30GB Video?

I had my ipod mini for a long time, then decided to get the 30gb video. But I noticed that the video only comes with the USB cable and I can only charge it when its plugged into a computer.
Would I be able to take my charger for the Ipod mini(the one that has the firewire outlet that plugs into the charger) on my 30gb Ipod video? Would it create any problems with the battery?

USB wire that came with the ipod = Updates + charges.
and the firewire charger block thingy = charges when plugged into a wall socket.

OS X keeps looking for missing network drive

Hi there,
I notice, I am not the first to ask the question, but is has not yet been answered and I'm a bit puzzled. I am using OS X 10.7 by now and ever since OS 10.6 I have noticed that - sometimes - finder seems to be looking for a network drive (a former time capsule) that is no longer mounted and available. Every once in a while I get the message that the drive "name" cannot be found.
Where can I check to get rid of any references to that old drive? It must be mapped somehwere, alas, I don't know where.
It is not in the startup items, I've checked there and there is no file sharing activated.

Mac looking for missing NAS drive upon startup

Every time I reboot I get a message that an old NAS drive I used to have can't be found. How can I get my Mac to stop looking for that drive when it boots up?

Check +System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items.+
If the drive is shown there, highlight it and click the minus sign at the bottom.

Found a ipod looking for the owner

I found a ipod at the baggage claim last night at newark airport, the flight coming from las vegas to newark.
The serial number is 8K64xxx
If this person has registered the ipod, please notify the person, or if not can anybody from apple support advise me what to do

Unfortuantely Apple will only have the ability to tell you who registered it, not who owns it. As an example, I might have an iPod, register it, then 8 months later I decide to sell it. The buyer never registers it and then later loses it at the airport. Kind stranger finds iPod, contacts Apple, who then calls me and says they found my iPod. Great, mail it back to me! Free iPod!
To the original poster, have you looked in the Contacts area of the iPod to see if the user had any in there. That might help you track down the owner, especially if they have contacts marked as "Mom", "home", etc.
I once found the owner of a cell phone I found by simply calling the address entry for "Mom".

Stop Mac Mini looking for keyboard

Hi
I'm using a G4 mac mini as a media centre in my living room running Leopard 10.5.8
The mini is only plugged into my TV via VGA and into my hi-fi via USB interface there are no other peripherals connected.
I use the logitech touch mouse app on my iPhone to control it.
However, every time I boot the mac it starts keyboard setup assistant and asks for a keyboard/mouse. Until I connect a mouse or I VNC from my laptop and cancel it, I won't let me do anything else.
Is there anyway to stop it doing this? It's a bit of a pain to do it every time it starts

Open System Preferences>Bluetooth>Advanced button... Uncheck "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant" and select OK.
You may also need to disable the keyboard assistant, especially if your also using a KVM.
Open a Terminal window and type or copy paste the following at the prompt...

sudo mv KeyboardSetupAssistant.app/ KeyboardSetupAssistant-OFF.app

Look for missing items across 2 tables

Hi All
Basically I have following 4 tables (including two lookup tables)
My intention is Basically first needs to find out what are the matching records
between ModTab and MedTab through link keys (ItemID & TrfCode through Lookup1) and then
missing OptCodes in MedTab which are in ModTab and viceversa.
Can I do this with one go
Key fields are the one with same name.
When linking MedTab & Lookup2 needs to use both StateCode and OptCode

How do I tell iPod to look for its PhotoCache?

I remember answering a question about the PhotoCache, and the photos did appear. I since deleted the photos in the iPod PhotoCache, and now it doesn't seem to find them (in MyPictures) anymore. How do I return to the Photo-location-question and re-tell it where to look?
