Ipod mini not working HELP PLEASE!!!!!

my ipod mini is showing the apple logo, a sad face and then a battery sign with a fire bolt when i try plugging it into the computer. also, my computer wont recognize it at all. I've tried resetting and restoring it many times but its not working. what should i do!?!?!?!?! I've tried to make an appointment with the Genius Bar but they are too busy and my warrenty expires really soon!!

1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Microphone devices
3. Right click Microphone

Could you please describe how you are trying to delete a single text message and it will not work? What are you seeing in place of the trash can icon?

HELP ME!! iPod mini not working

ok.. my iPod is not working.. i try to turn it on and all that comes up is the apple logo.. and it makes this really loud whirring sound.. the apple logo goes away and then the little sad ipod icon comes up and it turns off.. i dont know what else to do.. i have tried charging it and connecting it to my computer.. i have tried manually resetting it but it wont work.. i cant restore it using the computer because it does not connect.. somebody please help me!

well first off I would contact apple and see what they say.. if they will fix it, how much it could/would cost etc. If they wont help you I suggest going with a ipod repair company.. something like www.ipodmods.com or www.ipodresq.com. Get in touch with them add see again if they are willing to look at it and how much it will/could cost..

Try closing all apps in Multitask Window
1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
2. Swipe up on the screenshot of the app you want to exit.

I have a mini and it won't show up on my computer, at least I can't find it anywhere, if anyone one has had this problem please let me know if you remember some simple, and basic steps please write them out, I would greatly appreciate it, Thank You.

Unfortunately, there is no one ‘Silver Bullet’ answer for this issue. Many things can contribute to the problem. Here are various solutions that you can try to correct your problem. One should work.
First, make sure that the iPod is fully charged.
Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Try closing and re-starting iTunes. There have been cases where iTunes refuses to see an iPod, but after re-starting, it works again.
Also try re-booting the entire computer. Especially if the PC has been operating for a long time &/or many programs have been opened and closed, repeatedly.
Other USB connected peripherals may be the cause as well. Try removing all connected USB items and attaching the iPod. If you have a USB keyboard, it may be worth a try using the adapter to convert it to non-USB. If the iPod connects, continue plugging things back in until you have the problem return. You may have then isolated the issue. Sometimes it could be a printer, camera, Flash Card reader, or other attached device causing a conflict.
If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter: Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management. Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”. Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused. Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” (or something similar).
If that doesn't work, Put Your iPod into Disk Mode then plug it in and you should be able to Restore the iPod
Your PC may have difficulty with the USB2 protocol and the iPod. See this Article for a possible solution: iPod not Recognized Correctly
Also try these hints (and the other suggestions above) from any other USB port you may have on the PC. Sometimes switching USB ports can make all the difference.

A reset should help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

Mini Not Working-Help Needed ASAP!!

I have pretty much a massive problem. I just got a 4GB iPod Mini and it isnt working. By not working I mean its not working!!
I installed the applications on the CD then connected my iPod expecting it to start charging and......nothing!!!
I thought my USB drive pooped itself so I tried all 4 of my USB 2 ports and not a single action on the screen.
So I went to the apple site, downloaded updates and all that, reinstalled twice and still nothing.
My laptop is plugged into powerpoint, so if it isnt getting enough power i dunno.

Yes, we have already bounced the server many times and check the about this page if the substitution has been reflected even before we checked using jdr_utils.. But so far no luck. What I forgot to mention before is that the vo we are substituting is composed of 6 EO and we couldn't change the query using the expert mode, so we just added one of the columns from the EO..

Second hand ipod mini- not working?

I ordered a used ipod mini off amazon cos it was cheap and it won't work. I've charged it for 4 hours like it says and when i turn it on it shows ther apple icon then it goes to a language screne. sometimes it lets me scroll through the languages nd others it just does nothing. Also when i select a language nothing happens? i've tried reseting it but that makes no difference.
Sometiems when i turn it on it shows a battery with a exclamation mark! what does this mean? i fully charged it so do i need a new battery?
I did once get past the language screne 2 the menu but i wouldn't let me play my songs that i put on it.

Try Restoring the iPod with the most recent iPod Updater (version 1.4.1 I believe). To get it, click the iPod+iTunes link at the top of this screen, then scroll down on the left.

I am not exactly sure what the battery symbol you described means, but I'm sure if you searched the iPod forums for something like "Battery with exclamation point" you would find it.

HSRP on 2 3550's not working, HELP please

Hello Everyone,
I am attempting to run and test HSRP but there seems to be some errors.
My first switch is a Catalyst 3550 - 48 Port with SMI image
My second switch is a Catalyst 3550 - 48 Port with EMI image.
I configured HSRP on Vlan12 to try and see if my second switch will take over once I pull the cable out of the first one but it seems like it doesn't.
In the "show standby" command, the second switch shows as "Active router" because I gave it higher priority and it sees the neighbor switch which shows as standby router, so hsrp sees both the switches, knows which one is active and which one is standby but yet when I pull the plug on the first one, network is down, as if it did not revert to the second switch.
My cabling is as follows.
First switch has the first GIG (over fiber) uplink to my provider, the second GIG port is connected to the second gig port on the second switch over fiber as well. The first gig port of the second switch is NOT connected to anything as I only have one provider.
The two ports communicate since hsrp seems the neighbor switches.
The two are configured like this 10.0.0.1 s virtual gateway. 10.0.0.2 is the address of first switch. 10.0.0.3 is address of second switch (backup one). Those IP's are on a MANAGEMENT VLAN which I gave as VLAN ID 100
Now for the VLAN12 I am testing HSRP on, it has VALID INTERNET IP's and not local internal IP's.
Once again, the virtual IP finishes with 225, and I configured 226 as IP on switch1, 227 as IP on switch2.
I am NOT using the track option as I am not sure what it does, I only use the standby priority and preempt options.
So to put it in brief, I am trying to make VLAN12 work with HSRP so that all traffic from VLAN 12 enters switch 1 (from the provider uplink) goes to switch2 since I set vlan12 with higher priority (hsrp) on switch2 goes to the servers, then comes back to switch2, routes to switch1 (since it has to uplink to provider) and out to the internet.
I hope my formatting is not very bad and pretty much understandable.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong and why is hsrp not working for me?
PS: I am suspecting the routing is not done well between one switch and the other so they cannot communicate the traffic, but I am not sure

Ok I am copy and pasting the configs of INTERFACE FASTETHERNET 12, VLAN12 and SHOW STANDY on BOTH 3550's...
NOTE: Port 12 is not connected at this point on standby 3550 to the 2950t anymore as I have disconnected the cable since it was not working, this is why there are less details for interface fast ethernet port 12 on standby switch, if you need full details I can give you more details once I connect it again, even with it disconnected, show standby shows the standby 3550 as active for Vlan12, but yet vlan12 operates out of active 3550 even when port 12 was active on standby one.
