Ipod mini turns on by itself even though it's on a lock mood

My mini ipod is about one and a half year old. I use my Bose speaker as the charger and my ipod out of no where turns on by itself even though it's on a lock mood. It's been happening a lot lately, even when my ipod is not charging. By the end of the day, when i want to use it my battery is low because it's on even though i didn't turn it on. Sometimes, I caught my ipod being "ON" even though nothing triggered it because its on a lock mood. Any suggestion of what is wrong with it?

You most likely have an alarm set.
To check go to extras/clock/alarm and set it to off. Check the calendar also, extras/calendar/alarm.

  • IPod mini turns on by itself, please help!!

I have had my iPod mini for about 2 years now and I started to encounter two very annoying problems within the past six months.
    1. My iPod turns on by itself. It doesnt matter if the hold button is on or off, being charged or not... it just turns on and starts playing. I was actually sitting at my laptop with my iPod next to me (off) and I watched it turn on by itself! I dont know how to make it stop!
    2. When it is palying a song, it changes playlists in the middle of it! The weird part is, that the playlist that it changes to doesnt exist!
I dont know how to fix either of these two problems and it seems like no one else has these problems but me! Please help!

My mini turns itself on even when the Hold button is on, and I also have the alarm and calendar turned off. I've done the 5 Rs, retuned to factory setting, etc. No help. The thing is possessed, I tell you! Started happening about 2 weeks after the warranty was up. Go figure.

  • HT201401 Why does my iPhone 3G keep turning off by itself even when it's not dead?

My dad had his iPhone 3G and gave it to me when he had an upgrade. He never had the issue of it turning off by itself, but when he gave it to me, all of a sudden it decided to turn off by itself even when it was on like 80% still.
I took it in to the Apple Store near me and they said that I had too much "stuff" on it, mostly music.
So, I completely redid my phone. I reset it completely so that it looked like a completely new iPhone. And then downloaded only 12 apps and 195 songs. And, only about 50 pictures. (This is an 8 gig by the way)
Right now, there's less than 4 gigs on there so far meaning I still have more than half of my phone to fill. They guy at the store said it needs 2 gigs to run.
SO, it should have started working since theres way less stuff on there now, and more than enough space to run. Why does it keep turning off still though?
It's so annoying and inconvenient. If anyone could help it would be SO appreciated.
    THANKS!!

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as a new device.  Go through each step in succession until your issue is resolved.

Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have.

  • IPod mini turns itself on

My iPod mini will be off, untouched (not charging, either) on my desk or wherever and turn itself on over night or during the day. Most any large period of any unattended time, really. But not always, maybe once or twice a week. It doesn't matter if the hold is in the locked or unlocked position, it will still turn itself on and wear down the battery. What can I do? Thanks

  • HT1363 My ipod touch 32GB keeps clicking and won't turn on or charge even though power is getting to it.  The screen shows a sad face ipod.

We have an ipod classic with wheel.  It keeps saying low battery even though I have had it charging for ages.  It also makes this clicking sound but refuses to do anything else.  I can't get any screen to show except a sad face ipod and the "low battery" screen.  I have tried to do the restart option but it makes no difference.  Help!

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer

  • IPod disconnects & stops charging after syncing even though battery is low

I have a 5G 30GB iPod video, both the iPod and iTunes have the latest software updates, I've only had it a month and haven't changed any of the settings.
When I connect iPod to my computer (a laptop, running Windows 2000), iTunes starts up and begins syncing with iPod as normal. However, if there isn't anything new to sync across, iPod will disconnect itself within 20 seconds or so and stop charging, even though the battery is still nearly empty. I don't think its a power to the USB hub problem as some laptops seem to have, as whilst its syncing it recharges fine, and a long sync period will see it fully charged - I just don't do those very often. Surely there must be a way to get it to recharge through the USB cable when its not syncing?
PS - I've tried the Apple support article on switching on the power to the USB hub, but my 'power' tab on the USB settings didn't have a 'keep the power on all the time' button, suggesting its always on anyway?
    Thanks, Chris

    Any suggestions at all?

  • HT201401 Phone turned it self off even though had charge left will not come back on even when charged

Phone turned itself off and will not charge or turn on only had it about 12 weeks ????????????

    Hello Coley,
What I first want to recommend is resetting the phone with this procedure.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not resolve the issue then I recommend this part of TS2802, the article you came from all the way down to step 7 if needed:
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Regards,
    Sterling

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • HT201412 my phone will not turn on at all even though i tried charging it and turning it on

my phone will not turn on even though i tried turning it on and charging it and it still doesnt turn on

Take it to your local Apple Store and have the genius take a look. If it won't respond at all, it sounds like a hardware failure.

  • My iPod won't send a message even though it has full wifi

My iPod touch won't send a message to all the people in my message conversations list even though I have full wifi! They have already sent a million messages to me but I can't send one back now it just says messages not delivered!

The three steady beeps indicates no ram or failed ram. Try removing and reseating the ram first. If that doesnt help take one module out and try with just the other one. Still no good, try only the other module. You'll also have to swap slots with the modules. You'll hopefully eventually isolate the problem to one module,
If after all the testing you still can't get it going you'll need to take it to your Apple Store or AASP for service as you may have a bad ram slot.

why does my ipod touch keep turning off by itself?

Is it running hot? There are thermal limits that will shut it down.
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
    SMC RESET

    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
