Ipod mini voice recorder?
I am looking for a way to record voices with my ipod mini. Any suggestions?
I do believe there is a extra accessory where you can record noise straight onto your iPod, though i am not sure it is still out.
Or, you can just use GarageBand and export your recording to iTunes and add it to your iPod, if you have a PC, i am sure it would work with the voice recording program it has.
Hope this helps.

IPod Touch - voice recorder ...?
I've been hearing a bit of buzz around the hacker(s) who built an external device that plugs into the iPod Touch and records sound.
The reason I came across this info, is because I'm looking to purchase a digital voice recorder as a christmas gift for my boyfriend (who owns already owns a Touch). He once had a 3rd-party device that attached to his older iPod, that allowed him to record. With all this hacking going on, does anyone know if apple or other companies are already in the works of developing such a product? In this case, my idea for purchasing a (sony/ olympus...) voice recorder is not so exciting. I'm sure he rather have the extra piece to stick into his iPod Touch, rather than carrying around a clunk of gadgets. Anyone know of such plans? Is this a few years away? or coming up sooner than I imagine?
Thanks for your thoughts!thanks VIP- but I don't think I'll be buying parts for marion to build for me. Even if it means spending a lot more on a brand, I just feel more comfortable purchasing the actual released product.
Or, since so many people are writing up on eok & marion, maybe I'll keep watching over the next week or two to see if people have been using it.
Is this device risky? Is there a chance of it screwing up the iPod? -
XtremeMac MicroMemo Digital Voice Recorder?
Hello,
Can anyone tell me what their experience is with XtremeMac MicroMemo Digital Voice Recorder? Is the quality good enough to use for creation of a CD?
Best regards,
Cath999
toshiba Windows XPI don't have any experience of that voice recorder, but if you are meaning can you record live music with an iPod and voice recorder and expect the results to be at or near cd quality, the answer is no.
Far from it in fact. It's meant simply for voice recording, using it for anything else and the quality of sound will be very poor. -
IPod Touch for Voice Recording. Any Thoughts?
I have an iPod Touch and I love it. I am wondering if anyone has experience with using it as a voice recorder. I understand that I would have to buy a microphone adaptor, so I'd like to hear recommendations on which to buy. I will be using it to record lectures at college in relatively small rooms. I had used an Olympus digital voice recorder every semester until now. However I've lost it and before I buy a new one, I wanted to see if maybe I could add another use to my iPod Touch. The most important thing is that I can transfer the recordings to my computer as I like archive all lectures and labs.
To summarize my questions:
1. Is this even a good idea? Does anyone have experience doing this or something similar?
2. What microphone adaptor would you recommend?
3. What program(s) will be needed?
4. Any other input is more than welcome.
Thank you kindly, Apple site.
-Vincent.Heck yeah! I use mine all the time for recording voice memos! The built in app works perfectly fine for me although there are most likely tons on the app store. In terms of what mic to get, It doesn't matter as long as it is the 'passthrough' kind. Not that it has to have a headphone jack on it, but it has to have the 4 connectors on the male end that plugs into your iDevice. You can buy little tiny 'stub' microphones all over on ebay that will fit perfectly with little footprint, DOWNSIDE to those is that you can't plug in a pair of headphones at the same time (unless you're using the iPhone earbuds that have a built in mic, that kinda thing) Hope this helped! have fun!

How do I convert my old iPod into a voice recorder?
PART No. MA003FB/A iPod 60GB White Model A1136 Serial No. 4J547DUSSZA purchased in June 2007
iPod (5th generation)—also known as iPod with video or Fifth Generation iPod 2005/2010 click wheel.
(It is not a nano, shuffle or touch, it may be a classic or just an older iPod)
How do I turn this iPod into a voice recorder? What do I need to buy and will I need to update the iPod software.Hi Patdean,
Yes, you can use your 5th Gen as a voice recorder. I used to do this with mine. You have to get an external microphone for it, and it has to be one that connects through the connector port, not through the headphone jack. Later generation ipods will take a mic in the headphone port, but not this one. There are several companies that make them, mine was a Belkin Tune Talk, and it worked really well. No additional software needed. To make a recording, use the wheel to go to "Extras", and plug in the mic. The voice memo recorder won't show up on your ipod until you plug in the microphone, and once it does, hit the record button, and you're good to go. Check on Amazon or someplace similar, I think these are still being made, but be sure to check compatability with your ipod, as not all dock connector microphones are compatible. Hope this helps!

I noticed they sell a device that connects to the ipod that records your voice, why can't they make a device that records audio so it's not nessisary to use a computer?
You still need your computer to download songs into itunes software, transfer them to your mini and update software. I never heard of such voice recording device that works along with iPods, what's it called??

Recording audio to iPod Mini?
I'm having trouble finding any way to record audio to an iPod Mini - the Belkin and Griffin products appear to only work on the full-size iPod. Is there a solution for this?
Unfortunately no. The iPod mini software does not allow for voice recording.

Voice Recording - Ipod Nano 3rd Gen
Hi,
Recently, i saw a mini microphone in the market. At the back of the packaging, it said "This accessory is compatible with iPhone, iTouch, iPod Nano and iPod Classic by installing iTalk Recorder or Easy Recorder".
The dealer had confired that it can be used on iPod 3rd Gen so i was so excited that my ipod finally has voice recording function. I'd downloaded both app with iTune but it cant be sync/installed to my iPod Nano...
Can anyone pls assist me on this critical issue because i need a 2-in-1 mp3+voice recorder?Thank you for the reply, however, I'm using APPLE; 10.5..... op system. I have been using this ipod with this APPLE comp for a few years--- I read somewhere that the mobile device could be auto turned off somehow. If I DO follow the directions for the uninstall..do I lose all my songs, etc when I put the itune.app in the trash and re-install?

in my iPad mini some apps are not seen (voice recorder, calculator, compass etc)er
Those apps aren't included in iOS on iPads
iPad Mini built-in apps : http://www.apple.com/ipad-mini/built-in-apps/
iPad manual (which has a chapter on each of the built-in apps) : http://support.apple.com/manuals/ipad/ -
I just bought an iPod Classic, and in the shop, the demo model had a "Voice Recorder" option on the menu, and I read somewhere that my ipod could be used as a voice recorder, and I was just wondering how to do this? Do I need a microphone??
Yes, you'll need to purchase a microphone for it. Just do a simple Google search for iPod Classic microphone, and should get a number of good hits. Here is one such product that would work.

How can I use my ipod touch 2G as a voice recorder?
I'd like to use my old ipod touch as a voice recorder. It's an ipod touch 2G (8 gig) using iOS 2.2.1. I tried updating the iOS but an unknown error (-1) occurred. I'm using iTunes 11.3 on a MacBook Pro 10.7.5. Any ideas?
Error (-1)
Try on another computer
Also see:
iOS: If you can't back up or restore from a backup in iTunes
Then see:
-1 error
-1 error too
If still problem that means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If you get it to work I then the 2G iPod has a built-in Voice Memos app but you will need to purchase an microphone since the 1G-3G iPods did not have built-in mics. The mic plugs into the headphone jack. -

I was using the iCloud for my iPod and had recorded several irreplaceable Voice Memos. It went up to the Cloud, but I wasn't too savvy with the Cloud at that point, so it wasn't syncronizing to my home computer. So, the thing is that the iPod died and the backup is in the Cloud and I would like to load the backup to my iMac to recover my data. How can I do that? Thanks
The new device I got to replace the iTouch is a iPad and I don't see the playlist I created with previous voice memos on it at all. Is there any way to access them on the iPad? If I erase the iPad and restore it with the old back up will the Voice Memos come along and get in to my home computer or will I be out of luck?
