IPod Mobile Device Service
My iPod touch will not sync with iTunes because it says that mobile device service has not been started. The iPod is still listed under my devices. My account was recently suspended because I typed in the wrong password, but I have now corrected this and still can't get my iPod to sync. How do I fix this?
You might need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service.

On my registered iTunes computer, the following message appears every time one plugs in a device and refuses to load said device to be synced: "This iPod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". Each device has been registered onto this account and this computer, and all have worked finely in the past. I am so confused as to why now seemingly without reason, none of our apple devices (one iPod, two iPhones) are allowed to have music and other material downloaded onto them. Also, as a side note, they still are charged by plugging them into the computer, however they do not even show up on the left-hand sidebar in iTunes.

When pugging in my ipod touch on itunes, it says this ipod cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started. What can be done to remedy this? Up till yesterday I have not had this problem

Apple Mobile Device service and Ipod Service both necessary?
Do I need both Apple Mobile Device service and Ipod Service running on my Windows XP machine in order to use an iPod Touch Gen4? I have to restart both of these services to get iTunes 11.0.4.4 to recognize it. I wonder if they conflict with one another.

My itunes is no longer recognizing my new ipod when I plug it in . I am getting a message in itunes that says, " this ipod cannot be used because the apple mobile device is not started." I have tried the troubleshooting tips but not sure what to do next. My itunes is updated to 10 and ipod has not been connected to itunes since Oct. Should I update my ipod to 6.1.3? It is only at 6.0.1 I have not done this yet. My itunes is saying version 10. My ipod is not backed up on icloud so i do not know what I should do. After I had Best Buy restore my ipod to factory settings, went to itunes from computer to restore my music. Getting the error message " Ipod cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started". Ipod is connected to Wi-Fi, connecting to itunes o.k. on ipod

How do I start the Apple Mobile Device service? or maybe I shouldn't get it. I recently downloaded a Netflix app thinking it would work on my older iPod running version 3.1.3 and is only a 8 Gig device. Could this be my problem? The device doesn't even show up in "My Computer" or under devices in iTunes. Any help would be appreciated?
