Ipod music lyrics

Question

I once had a song on my iphone 3G and i used to tap the screen and the lyrics would appear whilst the song is playing. I don't know how it happened but it did. I was wondering if anyone knows how it happened and how to make it do that for all my songs.

By and large, songs from iTunes music store do NOT include lyrics. I have never understood why this is! It's the responsibility of the labels & artists to provide them, but it's like they never do, even for albums where the full lyrics ARE PRINTED in the CD dust jacket.
Lyric display IS supported on all iPhones and iPods with a display, though, which is awesome. You're right, too, the way to see lyrics on an iPhone 3G is to tap the album art while you're playing a song in Portrait orientation. (If you can see the Genius button, that's the lyrics display screen.)
To get lyrics for your music, you can do two things basically.
1) Type in all the lyrics yourself. If you're a perfectionist, this will be the best way; you can have all the spacing, iteration, punctuation, etc. worked out exactly the way you want it. Only downside is that's a lot of typing.
2) There is a plugin you can get for iTunes from LyricWiki (lyricwiki.org), which is in my opinion by far the best lyrics site, that will scan all your music and automatically download lyrics for every track. Use it at your peril though, as the website is a wiki, and not everyone formats their lyrics the same way; at least you can use it once and clean them up yourself afterwards, though.
