IPod Music Management during Photo Shows

I have not figured out how to control music next song, last song, fast forward, rewind, etc. when pictures are playing. Is this a (surprising) oversight by Apple, or do they really only want us just controlling volume and using the controls to move through photos? I would think adding music control via the center-of-the-dial button would do the trick.
Any and all help will be appreciated.

The result was that my iPod died mid-sync
The iPod should charge while syncing. If it's not, make sure you are connected to a high power USB port. Try a port on back of the computer.
Also, you could get a powered USB hub.
To get rid of the Other, you will need to Restore the iPod.

Unless it has recently changed you can only watch rentals on the device or mac you rent them on.

Changing iMovie background during photo show

Does anyone know how to change the background during still photos in iMovie HD? Ideally looking for a complete white matte (rather than generic black), for when some or all photos are not the same size as the QT movie or TV screen. I'm not talking about backgrounds during transitions here. I figured there must be a way to do this because it can be changed in iPhoto, but really need change in iMovie. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Unfortunately, you cannot change the background in iMovie.
If you don't mind spending some money, Photo to Movie will allow you to. It can also do multiple key frames and rotations.
I believe there's a free trial version.

I would really appreciate it if Mac or some one could fix this problem or tell me how.
I just up graded to IM 11 as 09 would not work.. I have put 2 calls for help. No answers . can some one just tell me is some one looking into this . As I need to do some thing fast.

fixed it my self need to take out in finder all files from I Movie . Reinstall Mac OSX Leopard and everything on the disc . including X code and Quick time. Down load any up dates . re boot down load up dates again. Re install I Movie 09 or 11 , re boot down load up dates . And this seems to fix the problem.

Ipod songs ratings are not showing in Itunes (manually managed)

Ipod songs ratings are not showing in Itunes, however I can see the ratings in my iPod Touch 4 (that is manually managed). I have an iPod 3 an it works. Why?
I don't want to sync anything, I'm looking the songs that are in the iPod through iTunes and the rating information is missing.
Any ideas?

When I connect my iPod touch to iTunes on my PC - under library there is a Music folder and under iPod there is a Music folder. Which music folder isn't showing the track rating?
If the Library Music folder isn't showing ratings then see A) Updating Ratings in Library Music
If the iPod Music folder isn't showing ratings then see B) Seeing Ratings in iPod Music
I have 20000 tracks in iTunes and 5000 tracks on my iPod which I am rating as a listen to them. 1000 have ratings 4000 have none.
A) Updating Ratings in Library Music
This is on a PC. When you manually manage music on your iPod the ratings you assign on your iPod aren't automatically synced to iTunes but it is easy to do it manually and only takes a few minutes.
1) in iTunes on a PC click Music under iPOD, sort your tracks by the Rating column and select 5 star tracks.
2) Click File > New Playlist From Selection and call it 5 STAR. This creates a new playlist on your iPod.
3) Right click the 5 STAR playlist and click Export. I save the playlist export file to my Desktop.
4) Click File > Library > Import Playlist > navigate to the location you exported the playlist to (in my case Desktop), select 5 STAR and import. You may get a warning saying some tracks don't exist, you get this if you change track info in your iTunes library, it'll omit these tracks from the playlist your creating. 5 STAR playlist will appear under iTunes Playlists.
5) Select 5 STAR under iTunes Playlists and you will see your 5 star tracks from your iPod but the Rating will be blank. Select all tracks, right click, select Rating and then *****. All the tracks will now be rated 5 star.
6) Right click iTunes Playlist 5 STAR and select Delete, this won't delete your tracks.
7) Right click iPOD Playlist 5 STAR and select Delete, this won't delete your tracks.
8) You can repeat this process with your 4 star stracks then 3 star, etc.
9) an optional step. Once I've rated my tracks I delete them from my iPod.
I do this process every few weeks when I've got a reasonable batch of tracks to update ratings in iTunes.
B) Seeing Ratings in iPod Music
In iTunes iPod Music my tracks are sorted by rating and I mistakenly thought the rating column is blank. I clicked on the Name column to resort and saw some of the tracks had ratings. I then noticed that when I clicked on iPod music it didn't display tracks from the top of the list (my 5 star tracks) which I expected but half way down (0 star tracks) which is why I thought there was a problem. So now when I look at my iPod music in iTunes I scroll up the list to check they are showing ratings before doing A) above.

Tap Settings > General > Usage to view the amount of space each app and its content takes on your device.
Tap an app for more detailed information about its usage.
Depending on the app, you may also be able to delete some of the app's content, or delete the app and its content.

you can connect the iPhone to your mac and import those iPhone photos and videos to iPhoto assuming you have iPhoto. You can create a folder and export all those photos to the Finder. Keep safe somewhere. Also keep the iPhoto library for safe keeping. When you restore your iPhone you can sync all those photos back to the iPhone. so you will lose nothing. Just remember when you export from iPhoto select jpeg for photos and original for videos taken with the iPhone.

Photos abruptly stop during slide show

During slide show using apple tv either my music or the photos will abruptly stop. Music stops if I start it from the photo slide show set-up. The slide show stops if I set the music to play from the computer to my stereo house speakers. Wireless connection works. I removed the apple app from my ipad because that made the problem even worse. I couldn't start the system as long as I had the app on my ipad or iPhone. Any ideas how to fix? It's driving me crazy.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Can you give us a little more info on your setup: model, RAM, HD size and free space, system version, QT version, and iPhoto version. When did this start? If recently did you run any updates shortly before it happened?

Ipod music does not show in Itunes

Hello! I am new to the forum and was hoping someone could provide some advise please. I previously used Windows with my Ipod - they were synced. I have since purchased a Macbook Pro. My previous Itunes playlist (windows) is on the Ipod, but no longer on my current Itunes (macbook). I want to play music from my Ipod on my Mac and possible transfer music from the Ipod to the Mac. I have ticked 'manually manage', when I plug in the Ipod, however, it does not show any music Ipod content on Itunes. Am I missing something basic? Thank you so much.

possible transfer music from the Ipod to the Mac.
First, if you have not done so, launch iTunes on your Mac. From the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now connect the iPod.
Now from the menu bar again click File > Transfer Purchases from ...
For "non" iTunes purchases you may need to use a third party utility.

With your iPod connected to your computer and iTunes running, select your iPod form the left pane, click the File menu in top bar, from there select "transfer purchases from iPod"

Video and audio not sync when i play all forms of video. from music videos, to tv shows. but they play perfect on my iPod. and tv shows display out of order on iPod, but in correct order on iTunes/computer. I even ran a virus check just to make sure.

they are in sync on iPod, but not on computer.
another issue that might be from the same cause is, the order of episodes of the tv shows i have downloaded, they appear in order on computer, but on iPod they show out of order.
any tips on how to fix this would very much help.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
An old version of iTunes will cause this and mess up the videos on your iPod. Always make sure you always use an up-to-date version of iTunes.

You can transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer

However, your app data such as saved games will be lost unless you have a backup file from your old computer.
