IPod music suddenly becomes gibberish after a few minutes playing in a Bose SoundDock

When plugged into a Bose SoundDock (actually, two different ones) to play music, my iPod (5th gen 32G) suddenly changes to gibberish after a few minutes.  I have iOS 8.1.2 installed.  It does not do this when playing by itself or when plugged into my computer with the lightning connector.  My wife's iPod (also 5th gen on iOS8.1) isn't having this problem in either SoundDock.  I'm guessing there is either a problem with the lightning connector (but it works OK with my computer) or maybe more likely, some kind of software glitch with 8.1.2.  Has anyone else experienced this problem??

You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
However, the problem may be that the car system is not compatible with your iPod and its iOS.  You might want to use the communities search box in the upper right and search for your car's make for similar problems.

  • IPod Classic 160GB skipping songs after a few minutes play

I've got an annoying problem with my iPod Classic 160GB.  It gets to about 3 minutes or so into a song (sometimes more sometimes less then just skips to the next one.  It's about a couple of years old (I got it as a replacement when the battery of my 120GB Classic failed) and has been excellent.
It doesn't just do it when I'm walking along - I've put it on my desk now for experimental purposes and it's the same thing.  They all play fine in iTunes.
Most of my iTunes recordings are now Apple Lossless - the lower bitrate songs and podcasts seem to play through fine.  I've hard-reset and restored the machine.
I have heard some noises coming from the hard disc - could the HDD be failing?  Very disappointed if so - and what else can be done short of converting my large iTunes library to a lower bitrate?  But that defeats the object of having the Classic's high capacity which is the ability to store and play higher quality recordings. It never did this in the past - nor on my original 120GB

I've done the iPod diagnostic tests on the HDD (select-menu then select-back) and it comes up with no errors or bad sectors.  Hmm

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Crackling audio after a few minutes

Hi, I have a problem with audio playback using iTunes on my Thinkpad T40 running WinXP Pro. When I play back music files in iTunes, after a few minutes the audio gets kind of staticky / crackly / jittery. If I pause the audio then then play again, the problem goes away for a few minutes and then comes back. The longer the computer is on, the sooner the problem crops up. Any ideas on what might be causing this?
    Thanks!
    Thinkpad T40   Windows XP Pro

Goto control panel>quicktime>audio tab and check "Safemode" hit OK and reboot for the setting to take.
Also goto the PC makers site and look for updates for your model, like sound card/driver updates and things like BIOs and stuff

You may need to do a Restore in iTunes.
Clicking sounds from an iPod that has a hard drive is probably not a good thing.  It is possible that your iPod's hard drive is becoming unreliable.

  • The screen on my ipod nano 2nd generation turns black. It still plays music. I've tried resetting the ipod to clear the black screen and the screen goes back to it's normal state but after a few minutes the screen goes black again.

The screen on my ipod nano, 2nd generation, turns black. It stills plays music. I've tried resetting the ipod to clear the black and the screen goes back to it's original state. But after a few minutes the screen turns black again, while the music is still playing. What can I do about this?

That's just the iPod's backlight timer going off, signaling the iPod's backlight to turn off to conserve battery power.

I have that exact same problem! It plays albums fine. But individual songs including ones downloaded from iTunes either skip or play the music of another totally different song. All play fine on iTunes and my iPhone... Got this one to replace my dying 5th gen classic.
I hope there is a fix for this, cause it *****!!!!

Hello, I've installed Apple Tv and everything seems to work properly. I've intalled also Remote app on my ipod touch. Unfortunately after a few mimutes playing songs (10 / 15) it simply stops. The only way to go on listening is to press the ipod button...
I've checked the settings on the ipod but I didn't find any helping point.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance!

Most likely the ATV is going to sleep or shutting down the Wi-Fi to reduce power consumption.
My ATV is connected via Ethernet and is always visible via the Remote app.

  • 1st Gen IPod Touch Volume Controls won't come up after a few minutes

I've got a first gen IPod touch and ever since I upgraded to the OS 3 family I've had a problem where after a few minutes of playing a video, if I tap the screen to bring up the volume controls, nothing happens. If I tap the screen in the first few minutes, the controls come up fine but after a few minutes a screen tap does nothing. Returning to the home screen and re-launching the video player didn't work either. I was turning the unit off and back on to correct the problem but after reading that a new "feature" of OS 3 pertained to volume control and headphone detection I tried a new tactic. When the volume controls would not display, I unplugged my headphones (the video paused when I did this) and plugged the headphones back in and the volume controls display auto-magically and would appear on with a screen tap for a few minutes then I was back in the same situation. Is there anyway a setting could be created to disable headphone detection and the "features" that it brings? The headphones work fine when the volume controls won't display so it doesn't feel like a headphone problem. Thanks.

  • 8520, call ends suddenly after a few minutes, repeatedly! (grey phone icon appears)

Hello, i have this problem today, when somebody calls me, after about 10 mins talk, the call suddenly ends, and the phone kinda shuts off because if they try to call me, my answering machine jumps out. After a few minutes, the icon that appears, which is like a missed call icon but all grey, goes away and people can call me normally again, but again after a few minutos the call hangs out and the icon comes back again.
Any idea how to solve this?
    thank you.

Hmmm...well, if we take what your provider told you, then your best course of action might be to do a clean reload of your device OS. I'd suggest these steps:
    Backup your BB:
KB12487 How to backup data on a BlackBerry smartphone
Do a clean reload of your device OS:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Do selective restore of your critical data only (don't to a full restore as it might restore something that was causing the problem -- just restore, for instance, your calendar, contacts, tasks, and email databases...select the least amount that you can get by with):
KB10339 How to restore data from a backup file to a BlackBerry smartphone
Then run for several days with it in this bare minimum state to see if the problem happens. If it does, then head back to your service provider for additional support. If it does not, then start slowly adding your other things back on, waiting several days between. When the problem happens again, you will know exactly what is causing it as it will be the last thing that you added back.
