Ipod name is not changing

Hi,
I recently have been having problems with my new Nano. I had a ipod for about two days now and my brother decided to make it his with out asking. I was able to change the music but the name is not changing. It still says his name. I have tryed clicking on the name and changeing it. That works for as long as my ipod is connected on my computer. When i plug it back in it says his name again now it freezes and wants to shut down.
Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

Sounds like you're on auto-sync and with disk mode DISABLED. What you need to do is enable disk mode so that your Nano doesn't automatically disengage from iTunes until you tell it to.
To enable disk mode, connect your Nano to iTunes and as soon as it shows up you need to select the disk mode option on the Summary page that shows up, then click the Apply button. Do this quickly, before the auto-sync process completes, and don't forget to click Apply!
Once disk mode is enabled you should be able to change the Nano's name. When that's done you'll need to eject it from iTunes and the name should remain changed. Note that disk mode requires you to manually eject the Nano from iTunes each time, so if you don't want that you can disable this feature once you change the Nano's name.
The alternative to all this is to restore your iPod, which erases its contents and prompts you for a new name for the iPod. But the approach above is better if you don't want to have to re-load the Nano's contents.

I have a user who's Active Directory password is going to expire. I had her reset her password by going to apple > system prefs > user > and clicking change password. I had her change her password via the kpasswd command in terminal and that changed her password on the server sucessfully however the laptop has FileVault on it. Filevault is not recognizing the new password just the old password.
I have deleted the keychain which didn't resolve and now I am going to decrypt and reencrypt the drive. I'm hoping this is an isolated issue I have over 25 laptops configured like this.

I "think" the trick was unbinding and rebinding the computer account.
After unencrypting and trying to reencrypt Filevault would still not take the new password.
Rebooted the prompt to update the keychain appeared. Updated the keychain. Filevault would still not take the new password.
Unbinded and rebinded the computer account. It worked and let me add the user to filevault.

HT4236 edited event name will not change on iPad

I edited the spelling of an event name in my Iphoto App., but it will not change after syncing with my Ipad.
I tried deselecting the event and then sync the Ipad to delete the event on the Ipad. Then I selected the
edited event and then synced the Ipad again. But the spelling of the event name did not change.
Any Ideas?

Oh yeah I have synched several times. I have PC with VISTA. I think it has something to do with some titles being READ ONLY or something like that. I need to find how to make them writeable. No changes work on about 20 titles, the artist name? Genre? NOTHING will sync. After sync all changes work fine accept for that 20 or so. titles just won't budge. every time. If I go look on I tunes my changes are still there, just don't sync to Itouch. It not the end of world but the more I upload the more I come across this. I have about 900 full albums and maybe 20 is all that's doing it.

This happens to me all the time AFTER I sync all data onto my iPod. Everything syncs on it, and then at the end, it displays the error. Even though all data is on it. This just happened now that I updated iTunes to 8.2 and put the iPhone OS 3.0 (iPod version) on my touch

13019 appears to be related to Voice Memos. Remove (don't delete) all the voice memos then reimport them (they'll be in a "Voice Memos" folder in your "iTunes Music" folder) and you should be in the clear.

Problem importing to mp3_ file name will not change

I have experienced this problem multiple times before and still can't find the solution.
Every-time I Import a Cd to "MP3" a weird file name is created. When I located the mp3 after import then try to rename it. I notice that the weird file name is still saved and appears always on top of the player (quicktime)
how do i fix this bug?

Do you have the "save as a copy" checkbox checked in your "save as" dialog box? If that is checked, you save a file with the new name and keep your working filename the same. If it is not checked, you save a file with the new name and the open document filename does not change.
If you're talking about changing the name of the file in the finder after the save, you're right. The open Photoshop document will not know that the filename has changed since the save. If you hit save, it will create a new file with the old name.

My Ipod touch will not change songs or shuffle

My I pod touch will not change or shuffle songs. Everything else seems to be working correctly. Any suggestions?

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
Any luck there?

Content Type name is not changing on site level

I have one new SP2010 site. I am changing the content type name using following script, but it is not working. I have not used content type in any list or library nor in any existing ite, I am not using content type hub. Can anyone why content name is not

Can someone tell me why SOME artist changes made on Itunes do not change on my Itouch? <but most do just some don't>?

Sometimes album name will not change...

Sometimes when I am trying to change and album name (and I have say 10 albums) it will not change, remains "My Albums 6" ???

I tried that, and a couple other click here, click there... nothing? I had done about 5 successfully. Then would have to try over and over for the next few, and finally they changed too. Now I am still left with the last 2 albums... still saying, ablum#...:( I donno, gonna give up for now I guess.

BBM display name are not changing

Hi, I'm using blackberry Q10 and the BBM display name of my contacts are not changing whatever it says in the updates that they change their name but in contacts list and chat list it still the same! This problem have been appeared since 10 days ago

Portlet title and name do not change

Hi
We changed the portlet title and portlet name in provider.xml file. After the portlet repository has been refreshed we could see the changes in the repository. But on the pages where the portlets already exists it does not show the change. If we reate a new instance of the portlet to a page, the new name is reflected.Restarting the apache( and jserv) did not make any difference. Any more changes or refresh we need to carry out?.

There are 2 tables called WWPOB_PORTLET_INSTANCE$, WWPOB_PORTLET_INSTANCE_FLAT$. Each of these tables has a name column that does not appear to reflect the new name of the portlet for the records that existed before the provider.xml changed.

Cognos iView Name Property not changing

Hello,
I have some Cognos iViews that was imported into the portal. These iViews are pretty much similar to other SAP iViews with the addition of some CPS properties which is Cognos specific. I'm able to change the name of the iView but the change did not apply to the PCD object or at run time. The Name property shows the changed name but just didn't apply.
Upon looking into this further and wondering where the default name is coming from, it seem to be set at the ID level. I went to change the ID and seen the property where you change the object name but it's greyed out. I believe that's because the SAP Portal version that we're on. So, I'm unable to change this property.
First off, is there a way to override the defualt property object name setting?
Secondly, if no to the first question, is there a way to activate the object name setting so it can be changed?

I did have to export the role in the PCD to XML and then edit the instance of the iView's name to be a space. I was then able to re-import the role with out any problem.
If anyone else runs in to this, make sure that you set all properties on the object you need to re-name <u>before</u> you export it. Otherwise as soon as you open the object you'll get the same error.
Next I am going to create a ticket with SAP about this problem. I can see why they would not want to allow a null value in a property but they should allow a space.

Gateway server-name will not change

I have changed the name of my domain on a shared server at a
web host.
When a swf calls the Flash Remoting gateway, CF provides the
path to the cfc required.
After changing the domain name everything works correctly
except CF still provides the old domain name to the remoting
gateway.
I presume this happens in
CFusionMX7/wwwroot/WEB-INF/flex/services-config.xml where the
gateway is defined and the domain name gets bound to {server.name}.
Does anyone know where this name comes from and how to force
CF to reset it?

Problem solved. It required the web host to restart the CF
service so that the new domain name was picked up from the web
server.

My ipod touch will not change songs auto, I have to change song each time I want a different song?

The Repeat icon/control is the arrowed racetrack on the left side under the scrubber bar.. Tap to change. It is white for no repeat.

IPod Nano Is Not Recognised on Computer

Hello. My iPod has been working fine for a good while, but then it stopped being able to connect to my computer. It can charge on the mains, but the iPod screen does not change to 'please do not disconnect' while it is plugged in and the iPod does not show up in Windows or iTunes. I did upgrade Windows (from XP to Vista) and it worked for a few days, then failed in exactly the same manner. I have tried:
* 5 Rs
* Other Computers
* All of my computer's USB ports
* Screaming
But none seem to work. Apparently a lot of users have this exact same problem, will Apple speak? This is obviously a fairly common problem, affecting a wide range of hardware both on the iPod and PC side, so one would expect they would have a fix or workaround listed somewhere...
I am willing to do all manner of strange things to my iPod if it will work again, I can post more detailed technical specifications on my computer, etc. *What can I do?*

Hi! I was about to put a hammer through my ipod for similar reason. I could see my ipod in windows but only as a drive. So after many attempts of the 5 R's i did the following and it now works.
Removed all itunes, quicktime, apple and ipod components from computer including in temp files and cookies.
Reinstalled Ipod/itunes original disk.
Set Ipod to Disk Mode (hold down HOLDMenuSelect until apple appears, then release MENU+SELECT and Press SELECT+PLAY Don't release hold button, until tick appears.)
I updated Itunes to new version. I then plugged the ipod in disk mode in and it updated to the newer version and all good.
This took 5 long days of trying all solutions. Goodluck
