  • IPod Nano screen = white and blank

Hey everyone. Okay, I've had my nano for about 6 months now, I bring it to school every day, and I haven't had any problems until today...
I went to go turn it on to listen to it, and i notice that the screen is plain white (backlight on) with a black bar on the right side of the screen that randomly shows up.
I have two questions- is this covered in the iPod 1 year warranty? If it is, when I bring it to the Apple store near me, would they let me upgrade (and pay the difference) to the 30 gig video?
Thanks everyone for your help (in advance).

Hello. i cind'a have the same problem.. My screen is dead, but the music is there still...
I have gone thru the "send i-pod to be serviced" thing.. but i haven't recieved an e-mail from apple, which the prosess told me i would get. So what is the adress i should send my broken ipod? it olso said that if they dont recieve an ipod after confirmen the "sevrice" thing, they would charge my Visa for about 160NOK = 25$
    thanks..

Good afternoon, I would like some information I have an ipod nano 6th generation and has the same one-year warranty is only 2 months of use, and it fell down and broke the glass of the display, I called technical assistance in Brazil and informed me that Brazil has no repair services for Apple, which was the basis of its price change in the exchange is not worth half the value of the product.
I wonder how I do to change this device without the expense of 50% for the same product is in warranty?
    Thanks in advance.

yes agree, plus a multinational seeing a product and has no technical assistance to do the maintenance then it's no use I buy a new product if it is damaged I will always be because it has no prejudice in this maintenance.
sorry but even more products coming from China to Brazil in technical assistance.

  • Does the warranty for the iPod nano 7 cover a washing machine accident?

About a week ago, I left my almost new ipod nano 7 in one of my jeans pockets. My sister thought the jeans were dirty and did not hesitate or check the pockets before throwing them in the washing machine. I later got a call from her that she had found my new ipod in the washer (DUH) and it would not turn on. I tried everything and finally realized it was not salvageable. I was wondering if the one-year warranty cover accidents such as this. Please help!

The limited warranty doesn't. AppleCare+ does but must have been bought prior to the accident.

If it's a radioshack warranty read their paperwork or call them.
You can check with your homeowners policy.

  • Warranty question - iPod nano as a gift

    Hi everyone,
I received my iPod nano as a gift, but the person who gave it to me has lost the proof of purchase. The support website says that I need my proof of purchase to prove that I bought the iPod less than 1 year ago so that I can get support. What should I do? Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Apple should still have a date of purchase on file--at least close to the one that it was purchased. The iPod nanos have not been out for a year, so you could argue that it is impossible for it not to be under warranty.
See when Apple says it was purchased. Go here...

On the right, enter your serial number under "About Your Support Coverage"

  • Broken iPod Nano (2nd Gen), will my warranty replace it?

I had left my iPod in my jeans pocket then I put them into the washing machine. Yeah, well it's dead. The thing is it's still under Apple's Limited Warranty because its still under a year old. Will I be able to replace my broken iPod for a new one?

Nope the warranty does not cover accidents especially relating to water damage. THe best you can do is put the ipod nano upside down (screen down) on a towel and let it dry for a minimum of 2 weeks. After allowing it to completely dry then you can connect it to the computer and see if it possibly will sync or etc. THough depending on the water exposure there is no likelihood that the ipod will be fully normal and will need to be replaced. Next time be more careful and aware at where you leave our ipod.

  • TA44551 My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work.

My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work. I tried to restore it again and charged it in three different locations with different cables. etc but nothing. Suggestions?

    - After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod?  If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
    - If no, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
