IPod nano 2g not turning on

hi folks.
had this ipod for a while now. was charging it this mornin and all was good.
now it wont turn on, ive tried charing it again
and its not workin, iTunes wont even open.
any idea on whats wrong/how to fix it?

I've tried many different things to turn it on such as press and hold menu and the select(center) button for 6-10 seconds and wait for ipod logo to appear. that does not work for me. Also the one where I move the button on the upper part of the ipod nano and moving it to the hold position and back and there againa and back. nothing seems to work...PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!! my friend thought that the battary could be so dead that it is not turning on at all. My ipod nano will not power off. Even the sleep button does not work. I have reset everal times. Any thoughts?

I've been through 4 of those R's, as well as the Quick Fix and about 5 hours on the phone with Apple. It will now turn off, but it is still not visible to iTunes and the iPod updater won't run because it also can't see the iPod. Windows sees it just fine, so now I'm awaiting a 3-5 day response from an Apple engineer about what is wrong. This all started when I installed the 6.0 update. I'm now back to the older software, but it still won't reconize my iPod, so therefore will not update it with new songs, etc.

HI my daughter has a brand new ipod nano, it will not turn on at all and is now not being recognised when the usb is connected to the pc?

If your iPod is still under warranty, you might want to take the iPod to an Apple Store, or send it in for service:

Recently I bought a Ipod Nano from ebay.I charge it and upload a song it was worked perfectly then i turn off by press down Pause button for a few second.Now i try to turn it on its not turning on, not even when i connect it with a laptop.What should i do to turn it on.

IPod Nano 8G Not Turning On

I have an iPod Nano 8G. I can't remember exactly what generation it is, but you can determine it from the information I will give throughout this post. Short information on the iPod.

Problem: My iPod does not turn on. The screen displays nothing. It is just blank and appears to be "dead." However, when I connect it to my computer using the USB cable which it came with, the computer detects it. The iPod appears on iTunes, and iTunes suggest I do a recovery for it. So I did the recovery, but as soon as I finish the recovery, iTunes suggest another recovery. It goes on like this. It's like a recovery loop. I tried everything, I even tried resetting it, but the iPod just wouldn't turn on. I searched all over the internet and I can't find nothing to solve the problem, please help. I even have pictures to make it clearer.

I tried holding the play button to turn it on. I tried charging it for a couple of hours. I tried resetting it. I tried plugging it into my computer. None of this made it turn on or even make a flicker of light. What should i do?

The iPod will need to be serviced, to determine the exact fault and repair it (if possible). You can get the current 7th gen iPod nano as an Apple-certified refurb for $99 (with a one-year warranty)

Be sure to rule out the other possibilities. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can make a reservation at the store's Genius Bar and take it there (along with your docking cable).

My iPod Nano will not turn on. The screen is always dark.

For no apparent reason, my 4th Generation Nano stopped working. The screen is dark and when I attempt to plug it in to my computer, iTunes does not 'see' it. Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My Ipod nano will not turn on

Yesterday mt Ipod nano was working, today it has no power, will not charge and even when plugged into my computer, Itunes does not acknowledge it. I think it must kaput. It is only 3 months old, it wasn't dropped or anything. Any suggestion?

i am having the same issue have tried holding down the power button to reset but it isn't even bringing up the loading circle let alone the apple logo, the last time i used my ipod it was fully charged as well. this is frustrating as i got this for a christmas present due to my last one wouldn't hold it's charge it would fully charge then last 5 mins and die. (it is 2 years old though). my computer doesn't read the nano 7th gen and tells me that is an unknown device and to reset it and if this doesn't work to replace it.

If you have and no luck, it's likely a hardware issue meaning you'll need to have your iPod serviced or replaced. You can choose to have Apple swap it out for a flat fee or send it into a third party repair company to be repaired.

Try this:
Connect your iPod to the computer
Reset it while it is connected:
Move the hold switch on and off, leaving it in the OFF position (so that no orange is showing). Then hold the MENU and the SELECT (center) buttons for about 10 seconds.
You should get an Apple logo on the screen... and this should allow your iPod to charge up and turn on. The reason that it feels warm is probably that the hard drive is spinning up a little too fast. Once you get it up and running properly, this should stop. If not, you should definitely have it replaced under your warranty.
