could someone please tell me how to erase photos from the ipod? do they take up a lot of memory?

Remove the photo from the folder that you linked to when you set the preference "synchronize photos from" and update the iPod. For example, if the iPod is getting the pictures from the folder "My Pictures," remove or delete them from My Pictures.
If you are having space problems, a way to to prevent all your photos going on the iPod is to create a folder on your hard drive called called "iPod Photos" or something similar. Under the photo preferences for the iPod, point iTunes to "synchronize photos from" and update from there. If you keep a dedicated folder like this, you won't need to edit your normal pictures folder just for the iPod and you can add and remove pictures from it whenever you need to.

How to get my photos from my Ipod nano 2gb (colourscreen) to my TV

I've got an iPod(2Gb) with colour display. And I've got the AV connection Kit. The music is no problem, but I just can't seem to find a way to show my photo's on the tv.
I read somewhere on this forum that I should click on "TV on" in the slideshow menu. But there is NO "TV On" in this feature. Under "transitions" there is nothing! I read that there sould be the TV On option!???

At the Apple store they said that it should be possible to connect the iPod nano 2Gb to the TV!

Unfortunately for you, the iPod nano does not support TV output through either the headphone port or through a dock. The only iPods that facilitate TV output are the iPod with color display and the iPod with video (5th generation)

Ipod nano 2GB only allowing 44 songs then full

I am trying to import songs from my CD collection and I only have 44 songs on my nano and it says the memory is full. Can someone please help me? There is nothing else on the ipod except songs, no contacts, no photos, nothing else. Please help!!!

As it happans I am a wizz on the keboard and can help.
when apple say the iPod nano 2GB can fit what 500 songs?, they estimate this at ACC encoding 128 kbps, at 4 MB per song.
If you have imported your music from CD then it is probally in the uncommpressed format of AIFF, which takes up 20 time more space!!!
iTunes can convert the songs for you, you go to edit>preferences>advanced> here you can choose where you want your music to go after conversion now from here go to importing and , I would suggest using
ACC format at 128 kbps (High Quality)
now back in your library go to edit>select all ( select 1 of the songs first or this will not work) and then click advanced>convert selection to ACC now just let it chew through all of that (it might be an overnight job depending on the number of songs you have being converted).
Now you should delete your ebtire library of the big AIFF files and under file add new folder, and add the folder that you converted your music too (by default this will be C:/documents and setting/my documents/my music
then all of your new compressed songs will come on your library at the same quality as they were but 1/20th the size!!.

Ipod Nano 2Gb Not Recognized

Hi.
Today I bought a Second Generation iPod nano 2gb. I've downloaded iTunes and connected the iPod via USB 2.0. All my usb ports are on and they don't turn off. When I plug in the iPod, it charges, but does not show up in iTunes or under My Computer. When I plug it in, my computer prompts me to the New Hardware Installing Wizard. It is always of no help to me so I just cancel it. Under my computer, the Ipod does not show. It also does not show in iTunes. I have done the 4 R's 3 times now. I am sure I've searched everything to make my iPod work. I've looked at all the help topics on this page and I've done everything advised and it still does not show up. PLEASE HELP!

I tried Run Ipod Diognastics and the Ipod connection has failed even if they Ipod is connected and charging. It comes up with this text.

Ipod Nano 2gb charges very slowly

My Ipod Nano 2gb needs about 24 hours to charge...
My is not covered for service anymore but maybe there is a solution without sending it to apple...

After the 24 hours does it have a full charge, or just a partial charge? If it is a partial charge or considerably less then the original charge you might want to consider getting a new battery. You can send it out to get a new battery or replace it yourself with a high capacity replacement. You can go on ebay or the web and search for a high capacity battery for your nano. It will come with the tools required to take it apart and instructions for take apart. It is not a very hard job to do and if you have any mech skill it will be a quick and cheap fix.

Ipod nano 2gb click wheel doesnt respond

I got my ipod nano 2gb for christmas and it worked fine. Now when I go to use it the click wheel works and I pick a song and play it but then the click wheel would'nt work anymore. I have tried reseting it and updating it but nothing worked. Any ideas are good thanks.

is the ipod nano 2GB really 2GB? or for example 1.78GB?

well it is 2gb it is exactly 2 gbs but with all the menus ect. it makes it a little less. i would rather have an easy functioning ipod then something hard.

What would you rather have?
PSP with a 2gb memory stick or iPod nano 2gb
PSP has gaming and internet capabilities though
but iPod nano is EXTREMELY portable and with the nike + apple sport kit launching soon if your a runner it would be cool

They really serve completely different purposes. I have both and would never really consider using the PSP for music. It's just too big & clunky for that. It's great for games though.
What are you looking for, a portable music player, or a portable game system?

Hardware problem Ipod Nano 2gb

Recently I've bought Ipod Nano 2gb in the US. Now I'm installing it. When i connect the ipod at the pc, i-tunes recognize it. When I disconnect the ipod, the ipod doesn't react. It shows the screen for choosing the language but none of the buttons react to change something. The hold button is off.
I've already reset the ipod, without results. The Ipod shows that there are songs on it, and you can play the songs that are downloaded on it.
The PC recognizes the ipod as a medium.
Does anyone has a resolution to this problem ?

Just to make sure...when you say turn...you don't mean physically turn do you? Even though you stated the hold button is off, toggle the button a few times to see if that helps. If you have tried going through all of the 5 R's and the click wheel still will not allow you to make any movement through screens, then you may want to contact Apple for a warranty replacement. Few more questions...does the back light turn on when you touch the click wheel? Do you hear any clicks when you run your finger around the click wheel? I know you said that doing this doesn't allow you to navigate through the screens but I'm curious if it reacts in any way.

HT1353 Fault on my ipod nano 2gb.

my nano when connected to mains says battery is fully charged,when dissconected the screen freezes then goes off/out,and wont turn on unless mains powered again,also when connected to computer the apple logo on screen flashes on and off also does backlight,iv reset,checked all diagnostics and it says there is no faults,can someone please HELP,thanks jockski69er.

If this iPod is "2gb," it is probably quite old. The battery may be worn out and no longer able to hold a charge. That would explain why it works while connected to power, and goes off soon after you disconnect it.

Updating my ipod nano with photos from itune

I have been facing an error ("The ipod cannot be update. the disk could not be read from or written to")when I try to update photos from itunes to the ipod nano.
Although I have been updating music successfully and using the last version of itunes (6) and ipod software it persists with this error.
Do you have any hint to give me ?

Ipod nano and photos acting all weird ?

i have an ipod nano im having trouble with the photos...ok i know how to put them on and all...i wont to be able to put a photo on my ipod then be able to delet it off my pc and still be on my nano but its not....???? it delets the photos from my nano as soon as i delet it from my pc and if i unplug it then delet it from my pc when i add new photos to my nano the old ones are gone..omg i dont think this will make sence to you hopefully it does thank you so much for you're help if you could help me in any way i would apreciate it.

When you delete photos that are on your nano from your computer with your nano connected or connect it after deleting photos, the photos will be automatically removed from the iPod, since the photos are no longer in the folder that they were in the last time the iPod synced with the computer.
The problem with adding new photos sounds like it it caused by you selecting a new folder of photos to sync from each time you connect. For the old photos to stay on the Nano, you must use the same folder to sync new ones each time.
Just a note, I find it easiest to create a folder in "My Pictures" called something like "iPod Photo's". I then copy all the photos that I want on my iPod into this folder, and set the iPod up to sync from this folder. Photos can be deleted by simply removing the photo from this new folder, while it can still be on your computer main photo folder.

Ipod Nano 2Gb Plays music but I cannot hear it through any headphone jacks!

I can play the music and it shows that the time is elapsing but I can't hear anything! What is going on? I don't understand. Any advice will help! Thank You!

What does it mean when my ipod nano 2gb screen flashes.

It only flashes when it is plugged into my pc. It wont charge, the pc wont recognize the ipod. I can't get the ipod to reset its self. I have no disk for the ipod. It is a 1st gen ipod nano black 2gb.

Ipod Nano 2GB Not Playing Songs

When I turn my Ipod on and try to play a song, it just cycles through all of the songs and does not play any of them, I can change my settings and look through the playlists but when I try and play one it will start acting up. Can anyone help?

I believe I have remedied the situation. I took my ipod to another computer, and downloaded itunes and restored my ipod from there. And that seems to have fixed the issue. Course now I have none of my apps and only the music that I did purchase, but hopefully when I sync it with my other pc it will bring all that back, without the song skipping problem.
