IPod nano 5 date & time and screen problems.
My iPod nano 5th gen. The screen has white lines going from side to side. And more and more keep appearing. Also when I go to change the date and time setting it keeps shutting off and restarting. I've tried to do a hard reset and it didnt work. Someone please help !!!!!!!!!
I have sorted out the playing problems.
However it's still not showing battery is charging either through usb or mains charger - although I can play music - but cannot switch nano off. Any advice appreciated

iPod Nano updated to 1.3 does not have any place for Indian date & time settings. is there any specific update for this or Apple has forgotten India.
as a workaround, perhaps try setting your main clock to one of the Indian cities, as per the following document:
iPod: Setting up multiple clocks
(there are settings for Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi ... are any of them in your specific time zone?) -

I got an iPod Nano for Christmas and loved it. Then the screen died. I got a replacement but it no longer repeats Playlists. Is it a setting I have to adjust to get it to repeat the entire Playlist?
Make an appointment at the genius bar.
If you went without an appointment, then it would make sense that you could be turned away. -
I got an iPod Nano 3rd Generation and it has scratches on the screen, and the warranty is already expired. Can it be repaired and how much is it going 2 be.?
Hello HernanOtt,
Depends on where you have it serviced. Here are Apple's repair quotes.
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
You would probably save a lot of money by having a 3rd party repair company do the job for you instead. Just do a simple Google search for iPod repair and you'll get a plethora of results.

Hi everyone. I have a iPod nano 5th gen and every time I charge it, it comes up with the apple sign. It just won't turn on. I can restart it but it goes to the apple again. Is there a way I could get it replaced? I did win it in a game at penrith bowling .Any thoughts????????
Can you play the song in iTunes?
If you can't the song file is probably corrupt and needs to be replaced. -
Hi, I just got my new iPod Nano 4th Gen. and the screen is blank... It's not on and its plugged into my Mac OS X Mountain Lion. I don't know what to do. Help!?
If it is plugged into a USB hub (or the spare keyboard port), try connecting it to a direct USB port.
Also, try doing this Reset procedure, while it is connect to power.

I have an iPod Nano generation six, and since I had to get a new hard drive on my Macbook pro, the nano no longer registers in iTunes. My other devices show up fine. I have followed all the trouble shooting advice, and nothing works.

I have my ipod nano 5th generation and when i plugged to my computer it is recognized but i cant do anything. On the ipod all i can see is a blackscreen with the apple sign! How can i fix this?
Howdy Lumagofe,
I was thinking that you may need to reset the iPod Nano, outlined here How to reset iPod http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If that doesn't quite get the iPod going again, then it will need to be restored. Use this article to help with that Restoring iPod to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339.
All the very best,

I used to have a Ipod nano 5th gen. and used the radio to fall asleep. I would set it for 30 minutes and it would shut off after 30 min.

I went to use my iPod Nano this morning and it won't play music. My headphones work, and it still makes the sound when I shuffle it. It also appears to be significantly lagging by 2-3 seconds. I have a half battery. What's going on?
If none of the 5 R's of troubleshooting are able to solve the problem, the issue is hardware related, meaning you'll need to have the iPod serviced or replaced. The LCD screen may have simply burned out or wore out over time.
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/.
It wouldn't also hurt to the let iPod's battery full drain. Then charge the iPod back up and go through the 5 R's again.

TS1412 any ideas about how to fix an iPod Nano with a white screen??
any ideas about how to fix an iPod Nano with a white screen??
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

O wn 2 iPod nanos series 4 and series 6 I want to sync different music on each iPod but I get the message when trying to sync the series 4 that there is too much data for the sync to take place. It seems both iPods have the same name, so I guess I have to rename one, how do I do this?
Or is there another solution
Any help appreiated
Wighill 13It would be useful to you if they had a different name, but the computer knows they are different. Create separate sync playlists for each device and go to the Music tab when it is connected and specify which playlist should be used for the sync.

I have the iPod nano 6th generation, and I have had it since Christmas 2011 so it isn't that old; recently I went to listen to my music and found that the volume increase button is stuck (basically it's like when you press the volume button down to increase the volume, except it is stuck down like that and won't come back up) but it was only stuck about 3/4 of the way down. For about a week this was ok, I just had to press the button harder to make it go down and increase the volume, but now it won't increase the volume at all and it feels and looks as though the button is stuck the whole way in, even when I press the button with some force. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could fix it or if I need to take it to an apple store for them to fix it?!
Sorry if the way I have explained the problem is confusing, it's difficult to explain but it's extremely frustrating. This happened to me a few weeks ago. Instead of taking it to the Apple store and paying $ the 99 service charge ( I did give Apple 139.00 13 months ago! for this ipod), I saturated the end of a q-tip w/ WD 40 and carfefully rubbed around the perimeter of the power button. I waited a half hour and then cleaned of the excess WD 40. This unstuck my power button. I guess the WD 40 dissovled all the dirt under and around (also the consrtuction of the buttons is done w/ double sided tape-- maybe a design issue) the button. A friend tried isopropyl alcohol w/ great results. Try this before you give Appple any more $$ or get a new ipod. It's been 6 wks. and my button functions perfectly,

Got a refurbished iPod Nano 6th gen, and went to connect it to my PC,
Got a refurbished iPod Nano 6th gen, and went to connect it to my PC, it said it was configured to Mac and went to restore it and install software. Now shows white screen with little computer icon and warning sign. won't reset
By a reset, I assume you mean pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
Can you try and force the Nano into Disk Mode and then connect it iTunes and restore it again?
