IPOD NANO 5G --- VOLUME FADES IN/OUT

My son owns a 5th Generation Nano that has begun to develop a problem with volume fading in and out. Is this a hardware problem or is there some setting that can be adjusted ?

Hello nacho_x93,
I would start with a hard reset of the iPod. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If no luck there, continue working through the remaining R's described here.
iPod Nano (5th Generation) Troubleshooting Assistant
If each of these fails to resolve the issue, it's more than likely hardware related, meaning your iPod will need to be serviced.

  • Ipod Nano 7 - No sound comes out of the headphones, and i tried different headphones... Can you help? What shall i do?

Hello ! No sound comes out of my ipod nano 7. I tried different headphones, all working on other players, but nothing comes out of the ipod nano. Of course I turned the volume up and made sure to press on play... Anybody to help me out? Thanks a lot !

The jack on the Nano is very tight when it is new. Push the headphones all the way in until the plastic on the headset jack is flush with the body of the Nano.

  • Recently synced ipod nano no volume on device

I just synced my recently purchased ipod nano and music is displayed on my device.  I selected a song and I get the forward arrow on the screen but it does not advance and there is no volume even after I turn it up all the way up.  Has anyone else experienced a problem of this sort with the nano?

First, make sure the headphones plug is fully inserted into the headphones jack.  The fit can be tighter than expected, especially when new.  It should "snap" into place when fully inserted.
If that's not the problem, I would try a different set of headphones, to rule out faulty headphones as the cause of not getting any sound.

  • Why does my ipod nano shut off after taken out of charger

Whenever I take out my iPod Nano Generation 6, out of the charger cord, it works until I press the power button, and stays in sleep mode. Even after holding the power button, it won't turn back on.

This used to happen once in a while with my ipod classic.  You need to "reset" the ipod.  For the 6th Gen. Nano, try holding down the sleep/wake button and the volume down button simultaneously, for about 8-10 seconds, or until the apple logo appears.  You can also see the info here: support.apple.com/kb/HT1320

  • IPod Nano v5 trouble - device blacks out anytime, doesn't work again until battery dies. What should I do?

I have this iPod nano v5 for about 2 years now, and since I bought it I had this tiny problem, which I managed to solve everytime, though it is annoying: the device has this awful "habit" to black out without any apparent reason (it doesn't receive blows nor it falls on the ground) and to not respond to any command (if I press any button, there's no reaction) until the battery dies (I usually have to wait 'til the battery dies, which oddly takes less time than if the device was just not being used - over the night, usually). Also this happens most often when the battery's full (or maybe it's bad luck?).
When I try to revive my iPod through connecting it to iTunes, it says that the device is corrupted (or something like that) and suggests something I don't remember (I don't try this for a while, since the inconclusive result) that works a while on the iPod and then says something like "Sorry, man, I can do nothing".
Have anyone had a similar issue and worked it out in a less time-requiring way? I'd appreciate any kind of help.
    Greetings~

First I would have returned the iPhone to Verizon the minute I discovered dust under the camera lens and had them replace it with a new on.
Second, the instant there was a problem with sending it in I would have used a telephone and called AppleCare and discussed the issue with them.
Do the pictures that are on the phone show any of the issues you claim are present?
Incidentally, you can do an out-of-warranty replacement of the iPhone for $269 USD, not $700.
But finally, I would call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to Customer Service. Give them your service number and go over each of your complaints with them.

  • When will the 32GB iPod Nano 7th Generation be coming out?

I know the new iPod Nano's (7th Gen) just came out, but they are only the 16GB. I was wondering if anyone knew when the 32GB would be available?

Who says there will ever be one? New iPod models will be unveiled next fall.

How can i obtain a user guide for the ipod nano 16GB 5th gen. without printing it off the computor.

You can't, at least not the one provided by Apple.

  • Ipod nano 7th GEN no audio out from head phones jack

I am trying to use my Ipod nano 7th Gen with a monster wireless remote that connects to the charging and sync connection. The remote works fine and I can control the Ipod just fine with it, but when I connect the headphones to the headphone jack there is no audio. If I remove the wireless remote receiver from the charging sync connection the headphones jack works just fine. I am using a lighting speed to a 30 pin adaptor because the monster remote receiver is of the 30 pin format if that matters.
Please let me know if this is normal or if there is a work around. My intention is to use the Ipod connected to a motorcycle sound system using the headphones connection to connect it to the motorcycle system amp and control the Ipod wirelessly.
    Thank you!

Can you provide a link to the monster product, or the model name/number?  If it's a Bluetooth product, it seems superfluous to connect the receiver to the dock connector, because the 7th gen nano has built in Bluetooth.
So, IF the remote control device is Bluetooth, you may be able to pair to it from the nano without connecting the receiver device to the dock connector.
If it's not Bluetooth, you may be able to find an equivalent remote control device that IS Bluetooth, and not need to connect anything to the dock connector, which seems to be the source of the problem.

  • My ipod nano 6g volume goes down by itself. It adjusts itself to no volume.

My ipod 6g's volume goes down by itself. It will go back to 0 volume. I wonder why sometimes, it will be fixed again, i think not the hardware, which is the buttons are destroyed. I think the software is the problem?

try to reset your iPod (press the volume down and the sleep button for a few moments to the ipod the apple logo let see), a few moments ago i have the same problem

  • Just got the old iPod Nano and Apple immediately came out with a second gen

Hi. I bought the 1st generation iPod Nano on Sept. 2, 2006 and literally 2 weeks later Apple introduced a whole new line of iPod's. I am wondering if it's possible for me to exchange my recently purchased 1st generation nano for the new 2nd generation nano. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm thinking you might have just got some bad luck there. Try calling Apple or checking with the store you bought it from (some have a 30 return policy...)

  • Ipod-Nano-4GB volume limit locked

    Hi,
For my Ipod-4GB nano...somebody locked the volume limit.I am unable hear the songs.
How to unlock that code? I tried to unlock with so many tries, but i am unable to do that.
    Help me in this thing.

"Go to settings on main menu, then hit Volume Limit and adjust it as wanted."
And how do you do that if the combination has been forgotten?
If you set a combination, you must enter it before you can change or remove the maximum volume limit.

  • I have a ipod nano and i cant figure out how to put my itunes music on it

i cant figure out how to sync my music to my ipod nano

It's easy. When you added music to iTunes (buy it in iTunes or just add your own music), just connect your iPod, click on the iPod button in iTunes (it will appear), then choose music and enable syncing all your music (or just some artists, genres or playlists). Then just sync your iPod with iTunes.

  • My 7th Gen iPod Nano spits it's charger out...

I bought my iPod a few months back and has worked great up until a few days ago. I went to plug in the USB and it wouldn't hold it in.. I looked inside the port and everything looks like its in order. My guess is the two prongs that hold it in are bent somehow? What I don't understand is how. I take good care of it and can't seem to grasp how all of a sudden it wont take the charger anymore. Even trying to force it in, it just results in the plug spitting back out.. Can't charge it period.. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Ipod nano 6g volume button got stuck!

Is there any way to adjust the volume now? I just want to put it on the maximum volume and leave it that way... please help... I cannot return my ipod because it's off the warranty

There is a simpler way to go about it. Try cleaning it with alcohol and cotton swab. The buttons accumulate dust and sweat around it and get jammed. I had similar problem and tried it and the buttons work !
    Good Luck !

No. There is one in Red and one in Black only (both of which I have). Always be careful of ebay sellers when it comes to iPods because there have been several fake iPod sellers.
