Ipod nano 6g doesn't turn on, screen turns white

My ipod Nano (6th generation) doesn't work anymore.
When I try to turn it on, nothing happens. Sometimes when I hold the sleep/wake button for several seconds, the screen lights up white. After a few seconds it turns off again. I have also tried this while charging it, which didn't work either.
I have tried to reset it using itunes, but that didn't work.
Hope someone can help me with this problem.

we have the same problem! i already tried restoring factory settings twice, it's still not working! I hope this gets resolved soon. Apple, this is so disappointing!

  • HT201210 ipod nano 6g doesn't turn on and won't be recognized by itunes

Hi, I bought an iPod Nano 6g a couple of years ago.
I tried to use it about a week ago. It did not turn on (not even the screen), no music, nothing!!
I connected it to my Laptop (Mac), turned the iTunes on, nothing again!! It didn't even recognized it.
I have connected it directly to the electricity, no charge!!
I downloaded the iPode Reset Utility, but since my Laptop doesn't recognize it, I don't know what to do.
    Please advice!!

How long have you left it to charge?  It can take up to at least 30 minutes (sometimes longer) for the iPod to show any signs of life.  After leaving it to charge for a few hours, try resetting it. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • I accidentally washed my 6th generation iPod nano. It will turn on still but now it has a computer screen setup on the screen, is there a way I can get it back to normal?

I accidentally washed my 6th generation iPod nano. It will turn on still but now it has a computer screen setup on the screen, is there a way I can get it back to normal? I can plug it into my computer and it works and I've click the restore button that comes under the nano's summary when it's plugged in. Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Take your iPod Nano back to the Apple Store.  Let them see what you are seeing.  Only this time............
Prior to leaving the Apple Store:    ***Make sure you have the store staff power the iPod Nano up and demonstrate that it is indeed working properly to your satisfaction.***

  • My iPod nano has a lock on the screen. How can I unlock and use my nano?

My iPod nano has a lock on the screen. How can I unlock and use my iPod?

Do you know there is the lock/unlock thing on the top or bottom right? If that doesn't work, hold down the middle circle and top portion of the circle button at the same time and hold until the screen goes black. Let go and soon an apple will appear. If you wait / press some buttons (i am not sure exactly how this part works) it will turn white and then the screen will appear again. You have all your music and everything still but the problem should be gone. This also works if your iPod ever freezes.

  • My ipod nano 5th gen. wont turn on and is not being recognized on my mac or itunes

my ipod nano 5th gen. wont turn on and is not being recognized on my mac or itunes

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting?  After leaving the Nano to sit and charge for at least 30 minutes, try resetting it by pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. You'll want to make sure the Hold Switch is not in the On position as well.

  • I accidentally press Off  the Backlight in my 3rd generation  iPod Nano, how can I turn On the Backlight again?

I accidentally press Off the Backlight in my 3red generation iPod Nano, how can I turn it On again? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

What do you mean you turned off the backlight?  How did you do that?
Have you tried a hard reset to see if that takes care of it?  To this, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

My New iPod nano 6g, just stop working the screen is freezd in the menu? Pleace HELP!!!

try resetting. Hold down volume down and sleep/wake button until you see apple logo.
If that does not work, connect it to itunes, then restore.
If none of that helps, you may need to contact apple. Has it gotten wet?

  • New ipod nano(5gen) won't turn on

So I got my new iPod Nano(5th generation) a few days ago. I put it in the computer to charge, it synced all the music to it, I eject it from the computer and the screen flares up with all the music and everything, but the moment I disconnect it from the usb cable to the computer the iPod goes off and I can't turn it back on. I tried the hold/center+menu thing, it doesn't work. I left the battery to charge, it still won't turn on. I am not sure what else I can do, it simply won't turn on unless it's connected to the computer.

I disconnect it from the usb cable to the computer the iPod goes off and I can't turn it back on
Did you eject the iPod first before disconnecting?
    Hold button on or off?
Read the iPod Nano 5th Gen. User Manual and if the solution cannot be found there, call iPod Nano tech support.

  • Ipod nano 7th gen not turning on or connecting to laptop??

My son's ipod nano 7th gen won't turn on and when I connect it to the lap top a message comes up saying device driver not recognised - he was listening to it just last night, can anyone help? He's only had it since his birthday in November.

I reset the ipod by holding down the power button and the menu button and the apple screen came up after a few moments - this seems to have done the trick!

First, your iPod may need to fully charge which can take a couple hours. You may benefit from downloading the 2nd gen nano manual if you haven't already. If after allowing it to charge for a bit longer and still no life (try this with the iPod ejected from the computer to see if it will power on) then there may be another problem.

  • IPod Nano 7th gen not turning on but recognized by iTunes and Windows

My two-month old 7th gen iPod Nano is not turning on. I've reset and restored it using both Windows (My Computer) and iTunes and have downloaded the and installed the latest version of iTunes. It was working fine and now just will not turn on. It is being recognized by Windows as a removable disc and by iTunes as an iPod that I can sync data onto.
I've tried the 'hold the power button for 5 seconds' trick to try to manually reset it, as well as other variations with pressing down on the power and menu keys simultaneously. The iPod is new, ordered online and the nearest Apple Store is over 2 hours away from where I live.
    Please help?
