Ipod nano 6th generation apple logo flashing

I have an ipod nano 6th generation that when connected to the computer USB it flashes the apple logo.  When not connected, it does not turn on at all.  I have tried all the reset tricks with no impact.  Also, my iTunes does not even recognise it as being connected to the computer.  Any ideas I haven't explored yet?

  • IPod Nano 7th Generation Apple Logo staying on screen

Hey guys, I had just bought myself this iPod today and had it for an hour listening to music and when i put it to sleep could not get it to wake up again.
I tried to reset it and the Apple Logo showed up but stayed like this and no matter how many buttons I pressed it would still stay on the screen.
It stayed on the screen for a couple of hours then went black.
When I plug it into my computer iTunes doesn't recognise it.
If (when plugged in) I hold the Sleep/wake + home button down and let it cycle twice the the reset process a sound will beep to signigy that my computer has recognised it and a message will appear on iTunes telling me to download the recovery program for my iPod.
When I click continue the iPod wakes up and again disconnects from the computer and keeps the Apple Logo on screen.

  • Is the IPod Nano 6th Generation Apple's least reliable product?

Do apple have a product that is less reliable than the IPod nano 6 G?
Do any companies have less reliable products than the IPod nano 6 G?
    If so, what are they?
I got my 6th replacement nano 6G (7th nano 6G since February) at the beginning of July.  It's now packed in - won't switch on, won't connect to computer. Some lasted under 3 days and given it took 2 of those days to sync to iTunes I only got a few hours use.  Going on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks so can't use the postal replacement service this time, but will need to do it when I get back.  Wish Apple will do what I asked last time and just give me a refund so I could buy a product that works for longer than an average of 3 weeks.
The forums have several other customers with similar tales of woe.
    What's going on?

def, either visit a apple retail store or call apple care 18002752273. Make sure you have warranty if not it will cost 65$ to repair replace.

  • How do I restore my Ipod Nano 6th gen, apple logo won't show up on Ipod when I do a hard reset just a circle with a line through it.

When it shows up in Itunes it said I need to do a restore. When I do that an error 1439  comes up. it is stuck in recovery mode.

Are you using the latest version of iTunes and have all the latest Windows updates and patches installed?  It might not hurt to try plugging the iPod into a different USB port, preferably a high powered 2.0 one on the back of your PC.
    See here for more troubleshooting.

I have tried restoring an Ipod Nano 6th Generation but it seems to keep looping back and saying it is in recovery and needs restoring, can anyone help?

Try doing a level reformat of the iPod's flash storage instead to see if that kills the restore loop using the instructions in the article below.

  • How do I play all tracks on an album sequentially on iPod nano 6th generation ?

I have an ipod nano 6th generation. I want to play all tracks on an album sequentially (as if I was playing a CD) without having to select each one in turn. On my ipod nano it repeats the same song and wont move to the next one automatically. can anyone help ?

The repeat setting can be found from the Nano's Now Playing screen.  While playing a track, swipe to the right to bring up additional controls including the scrubber bar, as well as the repeat and shuffle otpions. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for more assistance on the repeat setting.

  • The volume increase button is stuck on my iPod nano (6th Generation) and I can't turn the volume up. Is there a way to fix it?

I have the iPod nano 6th generation, and I have had it since Christmas 2011 so it isn't that old; recently I went to listen to my music and found that the volume increase button is stuck (basically it's like when you press the volume button down to increase the volume, except it is stuck down like that and won't come back up) but it was only stuck about 3/4 of the way down. For about a week this was ok, I just had to press the button harder to make it go down and increase the volume, but now it won't increase the volume at all and it feels and looks as though the button is stuck the whole way in, even when I press the button with some force. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could fix it or if I need to take it to an apple store for them to fix it?!
Sorry if the way I have explained the problem is confusing, it's difficult to explain but it's extremely frustrating.

This happened to me a few weeks ago.  Instead of taking it to the Apple store and paying $ the 99 service charge ( I did give Apple 139.00 13 months ago! for this ipod), I saturated the end of a q-tip w/ WD 40 and carfefully rubbed around the perimeter of the power button.  I waited a half hour and then cleaned of the excess WD 40.  This unstuck my power button.  I guess the WD 40 dissovled all the dirt under and around (also the consrtuction of the buttons is done w/ double sided tape-- maybe a design issue) the button.  A friend tried isopropyl alcohol w/ great results.  Try this before you give Appple any more $$ or get a new ipod.  It's been 6 wks. and my button functions perfectly,

hi my ipod nano 6th generation will not turn on what should i do ...no batery left and never pluged it into itunes

    Hi meganisawsome,
If your iPod will not turn on and you are getting indicators that there is no battery left, the first step would be to make sure that the iPod has been charged correctly. You may find the following article useful:

If you are still having issues after charging, you may want to look at this article:

  • My ipod nano 6th generation will not turn on.

My iPod nano (6th generation) will not turn on. I have charged it (attached to my computer) for 30 minutes. I have tried to reset it (held down Wake and Volume Down for 8 seconds)- no response. I have factory restored it (through iTunes)- no response. It shows up as connected to my computer and will sync in iTunes, but the display on the iPod will not turn on. Any ideas?

    Hey s.mccarter2010,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you have tried a lot of things and the iPod still will not turn on. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
    iPod won't turn on
If you have tried the solutions above and iPod still won't turn on, check the following:
Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works. Note: If using a portable computer, make sure it is plugged in to a power source and that the lid or display is open. If the lid is closed the computer may go into either standby, sleep, or hibernation mode and iPod will not charge properly.
If you still can't turn iPod on after performing these steps, it may need to be repaired. You can arrange for repair at the iPod Service Website.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

  • IPod nano 6th generation no longer synching runs to Nike+

Just got a pop-up when I connected my iPod nano (6th generation) that stated something that workout data would no longer be sent to Nike+ because iTunes no longer supports pedometer devices.  I can't seem to find any details about why I can no longer synch workouts, from either Apple or Nike.
Anyone know what's going on with this?

I found this info on another thread and it worked for me.
