IPod Nano 7 clip, lanyard, watch strap?

After a having a number of iPod Nano, i was really surprised that the new iPod Nano 7 has what appears to be no way to clip it to clothing, a belt, bag, or best of all the lanyard from the iPad Nano 2 (unsure of version). It seems most people I know that love the Nano use it why doing physical things, and many of them dont want the weitght of size of an additional case with a clip/etc. Am I alone in the need for an attachment device of some sort or are people willing to purchase a case?
We may just have to visit the refurb store and stock up on the Nano 6 just to clp the thing while working around the house...

Does it play properly in iTunes?
If it DOES play properly in iTunes, you may want to try creating a version that is optimzed for iPod.  Select the video in iTunes.  From the menu bar
File -> Create New Version -> Create iPod or iPhone Version
NOTE:  This function is disabled, if the video is a purchase from the iTunes Store, such as a movie, TV show, or music video (which use DRM).
This new version appears in your iTunes Movies library.  Remove the original version from the iPod, and sync this version.  It should play properly in the iPod.

    Hello all,
I have a 14.88G iPod Nano that I currently use as my primary watch. A week or so ago I started to experience a blank white screen when I press the "sleep/wake" button instead of the watch face (I have it set to wake from sleep to display the clock). When I hard reset it, it will come back fine and the screen will respond and work as normal, as soon as I manually put it to sleep by pressing the "sleep/wake" button and then try to wake it the same thing happens and I have a blank white screen that doesn't respond to touch gestures or anything.
What I have tried so far to no avail:
Numerous hard restarts (holding the "sleep/wake" button with the volume - button).
Tried this: iPod nano (6th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
Changed the watch face to display.
Recharged the device overnight (without full discharge).
Since none of this works I'm out of ideas. Eventhough I have a 6G Nano it should no longer be under warranty since I was sent it as a replacement for a different (older) product.
Any ideas? Is this a known problem? Thanks in advance for any insight any of you could provide. Also, what time is it??
    Regards,

    Hey,
I have the exact same problem as you have described. I also used my ipod as a watch but starting from today, whenever I unlock it the screen turns white until a reset is done. Even a factory reset through itunes didn't fix it.
    Have you found any solution?
    Bah, this is annoying.

  • Free iPod Nano 6th Generation Always On Digital Watch Face "App"

I created what I call the Slideshow Clock.  I have only tested it for a couple hours, but it seems to work great, and should help quench the thirst for those of you who really wanted their Nano watch to stay on, or wanted a digital display.  Yeah, it's a little ridiculous but it's all I could do.  I tested other ideas, but they all failed.
It would also be helpful if someone would mirror the zip file, as my free host is not known for reliability.
    http://nicktech.heliohost.org/ipod-nano.shtml
    From the site:
The Slideshow Clock is a set of images to be used as a slideshow on the iPod Nano. These images show the time accurately when the slideshow is started on the appropriate image for the current time. The Slideshow Clock provides functions not otherwise available to the iPod Nano. These include: Always on, never sleep, constant clock face display; digital display; custom display. These functions are primarily desired by those wishing to use the nano as a wrist watch.
To use the Slideshow Clock, make sure your slideshow settings are set to repeat, and 20 seconds display time. Then open Photos and select the image that corresponds to the current time and hit play. There are 3 images for each minute of the day since each only displays for 20 seconds.
    Drawbacks:
-Slideshow Clock 1 is a 1.18MB zip file, which expands to 15.9MB, but unfortunately iTunes "optimizes" it into 1.09GB. So you will probably not want many different watch face styles installed on your nano at a time.
-Rapid battery drain. Suggestions: minimum brightness, use only during key geek moments, use while charging.
-Accidentally touching the display stops the clock.
-You have to "set" clock every time you want to use it.

    Hello NickTech,
I want to keep my iPod nano on all the time because recently my sleep/wake button stopped woking - it has become compressed. so every time I want to wake it I have to connect it to the charger or I can shuffle around a little with my music with the buttons on my earphones. So i was wondering if you have a solution for that? And if not than I want to Slideshow Clock thing like how you've explained above but that link you provided doesn't open. http://nicktech.heliohost.org/ipod-nano.shtml
    Can you help me out?
    THANKS!!

  • Can you watch movies on the new iPod nano?

I know you can watch movies on the iPod video, but i wasnt sure if i'd be wasting my money on buying a movie from the itunes store and not being able to watch it.
      Windows XP

The iPod nano does not support video. The processor is not strong enough, along with other things.
Also, do not try iPod Linux, even though you might hear that its awesome.
    1. Even iPod Linux does not support iPod nano downloads.
    2. Voids any Warranty you have on yoru iPod.
    3. Not unusual for it to leave your iPod as a large domino, and with no warranty, you're out of luck.
    I hope this helps!

  • MY new Ipod Nano does not hold a charge.  I use it mostly as a watch, perhaps look at it 5 or 6 times in 8 hours, and leave it in sleep mode the rest of the time.  I drains to the red line in less than 2 days.  My husband's nano will last a week this way.

You are still under warranty if your iPod is "new."  Take full advantage of it by either calling iPod tech support, Apple Care if you have it or take it in to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

  • IPod Nano 6th Generation Default to watch.

I love using my iPod Nano as a watch. However, while I accept that it goes off after a few seconds, it then defaults to music, so when I press the button I have to close music down and scroll accros to watch and open it before I can see the face. How do I get it to default straight to the watch? ...

I was just messing with my nano trying to find a solution to this particular problem. Somehow I stumbled upon this quick fix to the issue. I applied the settings above before hand and still ended up with the same results. So I kept working with the iPod and here is the solution. Instead of going to the clock menu opening it and then locking the iPod (which will open up to your music menu). Go to the Grey music menu and open it then lock the iPod. (Which will open up to your watch face).

  • HOw can I keep the watch on all the time on iPod nano 6

I don't think this is currently possible!

  • Lanyard headphones: why did apple discontinue them for ipod nano?

i'd love to purchase the new generation of ipod nano (i need more HD space on my 2nd gen ipod nano), but i have a basic need for the lanyard style headphones. i can't bring myself to wear the old style headphones (i have many bad memories of dropping the lanyard-less ipods).
i have never had a problem with the lanyard design in the 4+ years that i've used them. why did apple stop production?
and, more importantly, does apple have any plans to bring back lanyard headphones in the future?
    thank you.

Since we are all end users like you, nobody here would have the answers to such questions.  Only apple knows.  Either way, I suggest you leave feedback to Apple through one of their feedback channels.

  • How to keep the watch to display without press the button on my iPod Nano 6th)?

    Dear Guys,
I have purchased a watchband for my ipod nano 6th recently, overall is okay but i don't know how to keep the watch to display without pressing the sleep/resume button on edge? Also, the screen is not showing the watch immeditaly when I press the button, it shows the music/cd folder, then I need to scroll the screen back to the watch display.  Please help.

There is no way to keep the display on permanently, as doing so would significantly reduce the overall life of the battery.  It would maybe last only hour, maybe not even.
As for having your iPod wake up to the watch view, head to Settings -> General -> Time on Wake -> On.
