Ipod-nano-7th-gen-won't-synch-from-itunes-or icloud?

I have a Nano 7th generation. I am beside my self trying to get the music I buy in i tunes onto the Nano 7th gen--my iphone 4S automatically downloads all the music I buy via Wi Fi ( I also have an icloud account that has all my music in it)
But, No matter what I can not get the the music into the Nano.  I launch itunes, plug the Nano in, it shows up on the left side of the itunes store screen (sometimes)-- I have never been asked to register it-- and it never shows up with my authorized devices in the My account info section of itunes-- the Laptop I use  & the iphone show up-- but I can't figure out how to get the Nano to show up as a recognized, authorized device.
Why does Apple make it impossible to learn how to use the devices they make?
I have all my  music  on the i phone ( which is really NOT the quaity music player that the Nano is, I would like to listen to it on the Nano).
Is there any way I can move the music from my icloud into the Nano 7th generation?  I am completely at a loss, and don't know what to do or who to ask
Please, can someone help me?   Music is one of the only things I have in my life, and this is frustrating beyond belief to pay for music I can't listen to.
Thanks for any one s help

Hey liznofears,
Connecting the iPod to iTunes and having it show up on the left is the first step. It sounds to me like you want your music to sync automatically whenever you connect your iPod - if so, follow these directions:
Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
Click the button with your device's name, below the Spotlight window.
In the main iTunes browser window, select Music.
Select Sync Music. You can select "Include music videos" if you want to sync Music videos to your device.
Your device needs to have enough free space to sync the content that you selected from your library.
Tip: You can use the capacity bar at the bottom of the device settings window to see how much free space is available. The window will update with an estimate as you select content.
Click Apply. iTunes will sync the content you selected to your device. The iTunes LCD will show the sync progress and notify you when the sync is complete.
To disconnect your device, find your device in iTunes and click the eject icon.

  • IPod nano 6th gen won't synch with iTunes 12.1.1

Since I upgraded to iTunes 12.1.1.4 on my Windows 7 PC a couple of weeks ago, I have been unable to synch my iPod nano 6th generation (SW version 1.2) with iTunes. I have followed Apple's instructions to uninstall all of my Apple SW, restart my PC, then install iTunes again, restart my PC, then attempt to synch. I get the same failure I had before re-installing iTunes. My iPod connects with the PC and displays an icon on iTunes. I can select the iPod icon on iTunes and select the menu items under "Settings" and "On My Device", and all of the music and podcasts stored on my iPod are displayed. But when I select "Synch", I get the following two error messages:
    1. The iPod "Larry's iPod" cannot be synced because it cannot be found.
    2. The iPod "Larry's iPod" cannot be synced. The disk is not available.
I never had such problems with any prior version of iTunes during the several years I have owned my iPod. Help!
    Thank you.

    What solved my problem:
I restored my iPod nano on my wife's PC, which had version 11 of iTunes. I was then able to sync it on my PC. Why didn't I restore it on my PC? See following details.
    Additional details:
I first took the iPod to the local Apple Store, where the only course of action they could offer was to restore the iPod. So they did. When I got home, it wouldn't even connect to iTunes on my PC, which was a regression from the day before. Out of desperation I plugged it into my wife's PC, and her older version of iTunes immediately told me the iPod had been formatted on a Mac and it needed to be restored on a PC to be usable by a Windows machine. Why my newer version of iTunes couldn't tell me that is a mystery.

  • IPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4

iPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4.
This iPod was synced with another iTunes library. I had to transfer iTunes library from another laptop.
Launch iTunes (12.1.1.4), plug in Nano, Nano display says connected, Nano appears in iTunes, but when I attempt to navigate to Nano nothing occurs, or if I am able to navigate to Nano then I can't go any further and select music to sync and the Nano comes out of connected state. I have had to close iTunes, sometimes reboot laptop, but nothing I do appears to make any difference. It won't allow me to continue music selection process and start the sync process. Is there a way to simply reset the Nano and reconnect to get it to sync? I don't care about content as it needs to be resynced with this iteration of iTunes because it is currently associated with the other iTunes library.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Ipod nano 7th GEN no audio out from head phones jack

I am trying to use my Ipod nano 7th Gen with a monster wireless remote that connects to the charging and sync connection. The remote works fine and I can control the Ipod just fine with it, but when I connect the headphones to the headphone jack there is no audio. If I remove the wireless remote receiver from the charging sync connection the headphones jack works just fine. I am using a lighting speed to a 30 pin adaptor because the monster remote receiver is of the 30 pin format if that matters.
Please let me know if this is normal or if there is a work around. My intention is to use the Ipod connected to a motorcycle sound system using the headphones connection to connect it to the motorcycle system amp and control the Ipod wirelessly.
    Thank you!

Can you provide a link to the monster product, or the model name/number?  If it's a Bluetooth product, it seems superfluous to connect the receiver to the dock connector, because the 7th gen nano has built in Bluetooth.
So, IF the remote control device is Bluetooth, you may be able to pair to it from the nano without connecting the receiver device to the dock connector.
If it's not Bluetooth, you may be able to find an equivalent remote control device that IS Bluetooth, and not need to connect anything to the dock connector, which seems to be the source of the problem.

  • Ipod nano 7th gen won't charge or sync to itunes.

I recently purchased an Ipod Nano 7th generation. When I plug it in to charge or try to sync it to my computer I get an error message saying that the accessory is unsupported. I am running Itunes in Windows Vista. I have synced this Ipod and charged it before so I am unsure of the problem. I have tried multiple cables, and other things work in the usb charge on the same computer. I have reinstalled Itunes and reset my Ipod and nothing has worked. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Ipod nano 7th gen cannot be detected by Itunes after restore

Following the recent death of my Macbook Pro (due graphic card problem) I've switched to my backup laptop and moved all my files to the windows 8.1 laptop. I knew that connecting my Ipod Nano (7th Generation) to the new laptop would result in losing all my playlist and music currently stored.
I needed to update my ipod's list with new things so I took the chance (innocently thinking that all I needed to do was just remake my playlists and re-sync it). Initially it started off well, but towards the later parts of restoring, iTunes gave an error saying that the restore could not be completed and led me to a thread on Apple Support. Following the steps, I disconnected my ipod and reconnected it. Nothing happened. Itunes did not recognize the ipod, and the ipod goes into a grey looking screen with a simple message that says okay to disconnect.
My question is, how am I suppose to restore my ipod, when itunes can't detect my ipod.
I've been struggling really badly with the loss of my Macbook Pro and now this. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance
Currently running on Windows 8.1 and iTunes version 11.4.0.18

    Hello there, lycusfenriz.
It can definitely be frustrating when your having trouble with multiple devices at the same time, but the steps in the article below may help with getting your iPod recognized in iTunes. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great, in-depth recommendations for troubleshooting an iPod not being recognized in iTunes:
iPod nano (7th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4433
    Connectivity/syncing
Follow these steps if your computer doesn't recognize your iPod or you have issues with syncing your iPod.
iPod not recognized by iTunes or computer
Make sure you have installed the latest iTunes software from www.itunes.com/downloads. Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer. Your computer needs a USB 2.0 port or a USB 3.0 port to connect iPod nano. If you have a Windows PC that doesn't have a USB 2.0 port, in some cases you can purchase and install a USB 2.0 card.
If iPod nano is connected to a USB hub, try connecting iPod nano directly to your computer's USB port.
iPod nano might need to be reset. Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button until you see the Apple logo appear.
If you're connecting iPod nano to a portable computer using the Lightning Cable, connect the computer to a power outlet before connecting iPod nano.
Check the cable connections. Disconnect the cable at both ends and make sure no foreign objects are in the USB ports. Then reconnect the cable.
Try reinserting the Lightning connector into the iPod. The Lightning connector can be inserted either way.
    Try restarting your computer.
If none of these steps resolves the issue, you might need to restore the iPod nano software.

    Cheers,

  • IPod Nano 6th gen. won't sync to iTunes 11 on Windows 8?

Hi, I recently acquired a new Windows 8 laptop and after installing iTunes 11 I decided to sync my iPod Nano 6th gen. My iPod was last synced to iTunes 10.6 on Windows 7. When I synced the iPod to the new laptop I was receiving the problem of the WDF_VIOLATION which had something do to with Windows 8 and iTunes 11 being in compatible. I changed the compatibilty settings for Itunes to Windows 7 and the error has passed. The problem left standing is that my iPod will now not sync the library. After clicking"sync" either a very fast recognition happens or nothing at all will hapen and either way I'm left with the same music as I had on the previous iTunes. Is there a reason or anything I can do to change this? Thanks

You can only sync with one iTunes library. See the following for switching syncing computers.

  • Ipod nano 4th gen won't synch with windows 7

I recently reset my windows 7 laptop. Ever since, itunes has not been synching with my 4th gen ipod nano. The device is being recognised and charges, but music would not synch. This wasn't too much of an issue for a while. But today I wanted to update my music so i tried updating itunes and restoring my ipod to factory settings and seeing if that helped. it successfully wiped the device, but will still not upload music. Whenever I click synch I begins the process but immediately states the synch is complete even though no music has been added. So now I have an empty ipod which cannot have any music put on it.

You probably need to set up automatic syncing.  If you do not set it up, it will still "sync" but it will sync nothing.
In iTunes 12, select the iPod so that you see its Summary settings screen (click the "device button" on horizontal bar).  In the iPod's sidebar, under Settings, click Music.  To the right is the iPod's Music settings screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This enables automatic syncing for songs.  Below that, if your entire iTunes library fits on your iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library.
Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select what you want to sync from the lists below.  On convenient way to set this up is to create one or more playlists in your iTunes library with songs just for the iPod.  Or you can use existing playlists.  On the iPod's Music settings screen, find and select (checkmark) just those playlists under Playlists.
When you click Apply, iTunes syncs your iPod with your selection(s) on the iPod's Music settings screen, and keeps it "in sync" automatically.

  • Ipod nano 7th gen won't sync

I bought a new 7th generation ipod nano for my son for Christmas to replace his broken ipod Touch. We have a library of songs in our account that he has purchased and would like to access on his new ipod nano. I have spent over 4 hours today trying unsucessfully to understand how this should work. I have updated to the newest version of iTunes. I can see all the songs in the library. I have registered the new ipod nano. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how this works. We had similar problems with the ipod Touch and found that to be a frustrating experience as well, which makes me wonder why I bought this. I have looked at the online communities, the manual that I had to download and topics on the "help" on Apple.com. I am seriously regretting my purchase. It should not be this hard to migrate the already purchased content onto the new device. I can't believe that I have to write a question in forum just to see if I can get an answer. If this cannot be resolved quickly it will be returned.
    Please help!!!!!!!

Please give us some more details on what is not working. The more details we have, the more we can help you.

  • IPod Nano 7th Gen won't work

I just got a 7th generation Nano. It was a gift. I tried to sync it up, and the first problem I had was that it said it was formatted for a Mac, and needed to be restored so it can sync with my PC. No problem. Then it ended up in a loop of saying it has to be restored. When I decided to heck with it for one day, disconnected and unplugged, the display on the Nano wouldn't turn off. I tried the trick of pressing both the home and power buttons at a time and it went blank, now it won't turn on again.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes on my PC (Windows 7) and nothing is working. Help?!?!

If your version of iTunes is not the latest, go here to download the latest iTunes installer
    http://itunes.apple.com
I would try putting the iPod into Disk Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
On the computer, run iTunes.  If there are other USB devices connected (other than standard keyboard/mouse), disconnect them for now.  Connect the iPod to a direct USB port on the computer, by itself.  If iTunes prompts you to do another Restore, do the Restore.  Hopefully, no "loop" this time.
