Ipod nano AGAIN

i posted a topic earlier saying that my nano was displaying the folder and exclamation mark, after updating and restoring it again it later changed to the battery and exclamation mark icon and now it will not turn on, will not reset, and when plugged in it does not say it is charging. nothing is happening. is it broken?

It might need to be sent for repairs.
See if any of these links help you:

  • Registering iPod nano again ang again?

    Hi there
Was just woundering, why iTunes wants me to register my iPod nano everytime i connect it to my iMac? Shouldn't once be enough?

I have never seen any of the buttons you mention in the registration menue .
When plugging in the nano you have 3 choices:
    - don't register
    - continue
    - the other one i have forgotten... cancle or something.
By clicking continue you get into a page where to enter your acc, pw, and country. you can then either cancel or continue.
Next page you can enter further details like name, last name, phone number etc...
Best option here is the range of age where the iPod user is part of:
At least in German versio there is a typing mistake - the range between 10-33 that is choosable should probably be 10-13 but who cares.
You can then either choose cancel or continue again. By pressing continue you land in the iPod menue, where you can select which things to synchonice.. etc.
But there is never one of the buttons you mentioned.

  • Restoring ipod nano again and again

    Hi
My ipod nano is saying "use itunes to restore" when i am doing that, itunes keps telling me to do it again. I just cant restore my ipod.
    Need Help
    Michael

Try putting your iPod into disk mode:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
And then try the restore again.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
If it still doesn't work, you can try formatting the iPod:
Click on Start, right-click on My Computer and click Manage
Click on Disk Management (in the left-hand column)
Wait for Windows to connect to the Logical Disk Manager Service
When it does, you should see a drive listed that represents the iPod. (You can verify this by checking the capacity, which should be listed as slightly less than what is printed on the iPod. Or, you can open My Computer with the iPod disconnected, and then plug in the iPod to see which drive letter appears).
Right-click on the iPod’s drive and click on “format”
    Set the parameters as follows:
    Volume label = iPod
    File System = FAT32
    Allocation unit size = default
Uncheck the options for Quick Format and File Compression
Click OK to start the format.
When it’s done, try the restore in iTunes again.
If all else fails, the iPod may need to go in for service.

  • I had an iPod nano and then got a classic iPod, which then broke. So I wanted to start using my iPod nano again. I still have the same iTunes account, but when I try to sync this iPod with my iTunes nothing happens.

The music that was on this nano when I stopped using it a few years ago is still on it, and I want to replace it with other songs that I've added to my iTunes since then.

iPods (except for iPod touch) are not linked to any iTunes "account."  They are associated with your iTunes library. The account in iTunes is your Apple ID, and that is used to buy and download content from the iTunes Store.  It is not required to use an iPod.
The 1st (and 2nd) gen shuffle can only be used with one iTunes library at a time.  When you connect it, iTunes should prompt you to start using it with your iTunes library, and warn that the shuffle's existing content will be erased.  Have iTunes erase the shuffle, and it will be associated with your iTunes library going forward.  You can then add content to your shuffle.
The need for the previous owner's Apple ID and password should only come up if you are trying to transfer existing content from the shuffle to your iTunes library, AND the previous owner had content purchased from the iTunes Store.  Just cancel out of that step, if iTunes asks.

  • Grrr....1 Gb iPod nano again

Okay. So I uninstalled my iPod and then reinstalled it. On my toolbar, a message popped up and said that the hardware wouldn't work properly. So now, I have a dead nano and notihng is working.
    I desperatly need help.
    I'm getting angry.

    Hello,
    Have you tried this?:
Eject your iPod, Reset it, put it into disk mode, (try this several times until it works), then connect it to your computer. See if this works or helps you.

  • Ipod nano 6G error 9006

After several months I found my Ipod Nano again. In the meanwhile, I switched from Android to Iphone 5s and got quite common with ITunes.
ITunes does find the Ipod, but states, that he is in "maintenance mode" and needs to be restored by ITunes - done so, updated ITunes to newest version, IPhone works well, but when downloading newest IPod Nano software, at the end of the 4-5 minutes download I receive error message "unkown error 9006".
I've presed power button together with vol - also for x-times, but unsucessful.
Is there any hint I haven't been able to find via google??
    Please advise

That one can indicate a security software issue. In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

  • VERY unstable iPod Nano (crashes every time in iTunes) plz help!

    Hi Folks,
As I wrote earlier in this thread, the iPod nano I bought for my GF (and the one before that) suffered from the 'updater bug'. At least I know now how to revive it, thanks to the great tips of a few users here, but it's a nuisance that the nano(s) tend to crash every time I want to add some music to it via iTunes. Not to say it's absurd for a mp3 player in this category to have so many bugs apparently.
I looked up the computer's system log, and it appears it registers a 'disk' warning, logged as 'event 51' every time the iPod is connected to my notebook. If it's not connected, it never gives such a warning. When you click on the warning it states: "fault discovered on appliance \Device\Harddisk1\D during a file exchange operation". [NB: my OS is in Dutch, so I translated it as best I could, it may not be the exact text it'd be in English.]
What usually happens is that the iPod 'freezes' at the moment I manually add songs to it. Subsequently I get the familiar "use iTunes to reset your iPod" message on the nano's screen, and I have to go through the whole formatting/reset procedure again, as described in the other thread I mentioned above. I had some succes adding music with the 'auto sinc' option, but nevertheless, it crashed again when I wanted to update the music on the nano, still using the 'auto sinc'.
So every which way I want to add music, the iPod crashes! Only after a full format/restore operation it sometimes accepts music, but as soon as I want to add/update the music on the iPod nano again it crashes...
As said, this behaviour is very annoying as well as time consuming, and I'm on the verge of returning the iPod to ask my money back. But as it's a gift, I'd rather see it working like it's supposed to work.
Many thanks in advance for your help, it'd be most welcome!
    Some facts and figures:
    - The nano is updated to V 1.2 using updater 2006-06-28 -
    - iTunes is updated to V 6.5 -
    - I use a Travelmate 800 notebook with Win XP Pro [fully updated except SP2]
    - I did try connecting the nano to different USB ports (3) with no notable difference.
And here's the original text of the warning:

I had my ipod nano repaired, during which it was wiped clean. Now when I connect it to my computer it treats it as a new device and won't sync it with my ITUNES...how do I fix this so that it syncs again..please help

Go to Settings, and then turn iMessage and FaceTime on if they are off.  If they are on, then turn them both off, restart the phone, then turn them back on.
Go back to Settings > iCloud.  Whether the current or old email address is displayed there, try your current password.

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • I have a 4 GB Ipod Nano from 2006 I am trying to use again.  I leet the anti-virus on my old PC with the iTunes lapse and I think I managed to attract a virus.  If I plug my iPod Nano into this old PC, can it also become infested with a virus?

I have a 4GB iPod Nano from 2006 I am trying to use again.  I let the anti-virus softwarer lapse on my old PC, the one with my iTunes library on it.  Can my iTunes library become affected with this virus?
I have tried to fully charge the iPod but the message screen only displays ""Use iTunes to restore"
Do I need to re-download iTunes and start over?

    Hello Mike,
No, you shouldn't need to worry about your iTunes library being infected with a virus.  As to the restore message on your Nano, have you tried restoring it via iTunes yet?

  • How do I get my iPod nano to work in my car again?

My iPod Nano was working perfectly fine in my car, then all of a sudden it looked as if it was paused. I tried to push play in the car but it would not allow me to listen to music. I"ve also tried changing the chord, the iPod and my car is not muted. The iPod works normal when outside of the car. How do I get my iPod to work inside of my car again?
                                                                                                                                                                                 ~Thank you for your time

In your iTunes music library, if you sort the song list by Album, the songs within each album are sorted using the Track # field.  For the albums that have this problem, is the Track # field for the album's songs correctly entered?
On the iPod, are you viewing the album by selecting
Main Screen -> Music -> Albums -> (select album name)
    or by
Main Screen -> Music -> Artists -> Albums -> (select album name)
If you go through the Artist path, some songs may not appear on the album song list, because the artist field for some songs (on the same album) can be differently.  For example, one of the album's songs may have a "guest artist" named in in the artist field.
