IPod Nano black bottom bezel replacement.

Hi all, not sure where else to ask this, but here goes:
I seem to have lost the bottom black plastic bezel that surrounds the headphone+adapter jacks of my Black iPod Nano 4th gen. I have looked all over the Apple website looking for a solution but am unable to find one. Has anyone had any success getting such a part replaced by apple? Or does anyone know where I should be asking this question, as the parts and repair service form that Apple provide here does not go into enough detail to allow the selection of the part in question.
They don't seem to have any generic "email us" links either unless I'm missing it.
Thankyou very much!

We have the same problem. My Dad took his Nano store and the folks at the Genius bar told us that particular part wasn't covered under warranty. This is totally unacceptable. We've only had the nano since Christmas and it is already falling apart and Apple is refusing to stand behind their product.

AAll of your iTunes purchases can be re-downloaded again. Log into iTunes Store, select the Purchases tab for Apps, Music, etc.
if you've been syncing your old iPod with iTunes, you can restore everything to your new iPod from the old backup.

  • For the iPod nano 1st gen replacement program what generation of iPod nano will it be replaced with?

For the iPod nano 1st gen replacement program what generation of iPod nano will it be replaced with?

8GB. Nice little unit when used by itself. BUT don't even think about connecting to any docks or other third party interfaces 'cause IT AIN"T GONNA WORK RIGHT!
Both of my Pioneer car stereos have the same problem with both of my 6th generation iPod Nanos:
The first time you connect the iPod, the radio recognizes the it and works. BUT THE NEXT TIME YOU TURN THE RADIO ON THE DISPLAY FREEZES. The only way to get it working is to disconnect the dock connector from the iPod and reconnect it. THIS ***** AND IS NOT THE WAY THESE UNITS BEHAVED WITH MY 1ST GENERATION NANO. Both of my new 6th generation ipods have been restored (several times) and have the latest firmware which, as of this writing is 1.2 and still the problem persists.
My two Pioneer car stereos that don't work right with the iPod Nano 6th generation:
    Pioneer DEH-P4900iB
    CD-i200 iPod cable for above
Scion XB iPod enabled head unit T1808
I've made an AppleCare adviser aware of the problem but I doubt that this information will ever make it to engineering so I don't have much hope that this will ever be fixed.
I would suggest that all 6th generation Nano users check it's compatibility with any third party interfaces they have and report their findings on this discussion board. Perhaps we can get Apple to FIX THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM.
    Apple are you listening??

In case the battery is low on power, you can try this while the iPod is connected to power.

    I am not policing threads
I am here, like other people, to helps users with their technical questions
most people have no idea there is a terms of service even the link is in the right column and so they do not read them and dont know the true purpose of this group
one of the first things in the terms of service is:
As long as you comply with the Agreement, Apple grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited privilege to enter and use the Site.
Apple's discussion forums are here to help people use Apple products and technologies more effectively. Unless otherwise noted, don't add Submissions about nontechnical topics, including:
That Apple rumor you saw on another website.
Discussions of Apple policies or procedures.
    Speculations/rumors about unannounced products.
The status of your 1973 MG Midget restoration.
if people want to get non-technical information, they are better off using the forums over at http://ilounge.com or similar sites since those are not really specifically designed to be technical support sites (even tho people do ask tech questions on them)
and this is not the only forum that I try and provide assistance in, but it is the only one that seems to get more of these types of questions than any of the others I frequent (just an observation)..
imho, in order to make the best of this site, and in order to provide assistance, well, you can figure out the rest

  • IPod Nano 7th Generation Screen Replacement

I recently dropped my iPod Nano 7th Generation and cracked the screen in the top corner.  Does anybody know where I can get this replaced in England and how much it costs?

If you leave it plugged in long enough, it should respond. that happened to me a couple of times when my battery completely drained. if that doesn't work, hold down the circular menu button (Just beneath the screen), and the power button (Top right corner, ontop of the Ipod, above where the battery life would be shown), to rester it. You might have to hold it for about 15-30 seconds before it resets. Hope i helped

  • How much does it cost to get a iPod nano (1st Gen) screen replaced by apple?

My iPod nano 1st Generation sadly fell off my desk and landed on my MacBook's power brick and the screen broke! I was wondering how much it would cost to get it replaced. My iPod also isn't able to participate in the iPod nano replacement program.

    Hi Whiteshaq4,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    Knowledge Base Document #61119 says:
"To clean iPod, unplug all cables and cords and set the Hold switch to Hold. Then use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings.
Don't use aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, or abrasives to clean iPod."
Some people do recommend iKlear Cleaning Kit.
    I hope that helps,
    Jon

  • IPod Nano Replacement Program incorrect serial number!

Hi all, I sent my iPod Nano away for the replacement program and was sooo excited to find out a parcel was delivered to my house. Anyways opened it and found my original iPod
Apple sent me a notice with the parcel to say that the serial numbers do not match. Basically 3-4 ago my screen cracked and I replaced it. The serial number on the metal cover is just a voided one that I cannot use however if I plug my iPod nano in, iTunes tells me the original serial number. So I sent my iPod away thinking it should be okey but they said I need to resend with correct iPod with serial number.
I cannot find my original cover to put back on. Phoned Tech support and they cannot advise me any further. They also said you cannot contact the repair centre direct to get advice on this. So anyone else have this issue? Must be more people who has the serial number scratched, rubbed off or replaced the cover/face plate.
Anyone know what I should do. Thinking of getting a knife and scratching the **** out of the cover so the serial number is unreadable haha.
    Thanks in advance

That's strange.  I just tried it and it did not ask me for a purchase date.  I got the "Valid Purchase Date" notification along with a green check mark next to it.

  • Ipod Nano replacement -  sent after t

I sent my Ipod nano off to be replaced, months after receiving the packing from apple. I first tried to re-register for the replacement, but it stated that it had already been registered. So I then used what i have previously received, I still have not heard back from Apple and when checking the status online it says repair doesnt exsisit. I just realised that they had emailed me to say the repair had been cancelled, this was before i had sent it off.
What do i do? can i get it back, or get it repaired??
i sent it with the paper work from the first request.

    You need to call AppleCare.

  • Ipod nano will not sync movies, ipod nano will not sync movies

trying to sync my daughter's nano and movies are now not recognized (nor are tv shows)...our music/movies have been added to the cloud- does that matter?

Windows XP   8gb 2nd gen Ipod Nano (Black), 4gb 1st gen Nano (Black)
Ok take a loof at this article. It goes through a series of possible things that may be going on as to why your iPod is not showing in windows and/or iTunes. Some won't apply at all and some may. Note that at the begining of the article it suggests you check and go through all things in the article to make sure. The final suggestion is that your iPod may need servicing or replacement. After going through everything in the suggestion and it does not work I would go with that idea and suggest that you contact Apple (unless you purchased at a retailer and are still within their return period...then I would suggest taking it back to that retailer for an exchange.).
    Good luck!

  • Can I sync my ipod nano with my second computer/ netbook while travelling?

Looking for some advice on how to connect my IPod nano with my second computer while travelling. That's what happened: I have my iTunes library on my computer at home and can sync my IPod nano (6 th generation, replaced onyl recently) with that library. While I was travelling and wanted to use my IPod I received an error message asking me to connect the IPod with iTunes in order to recover/restore (sorry, the message apeared in German, so I do not know the exact wording in English) . As I only had my second computer - a small netbook - with me, I downloaded iTunes and connected the iPod - only to receive the message that this Ipod would sync with another computer (sure!) and would I want to sync it with this iTunes library instead now? (Of course not, I did not dare because that library was empty!). So there I was with my computer with iTunes library at home and an iPod stuck in recovery mode and not doing a thing during my vacation. Any suggestions? If I have to take my great big workstation with me to get the iPod running again, I might just as well leave the iPod immobile at home. (;-)

On your home computer connect your Nano, click on the name in iTunes, move right to the Summary tab then tick the box that says Manually Manage Music. You will now have to er, manually drag your music to your iPod, and manually eject it when done, but you will be able to add music from two different computers.
