IPod Nano content partly invisible in iTunes

My 2nd generation iPod Nano contains three albums (podcasts) but one of them doesn't show in iTunes. The two others do. I cannot delete this third album. Any ideas for solution?

Howdy Leena-44,
I recommend this iPod nano (2nd generation) Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/nano2gen/. It is very thorough and I am confident will resolve the issue you are seeing with the iPod Nano. The re install section I would save for last if needed but I dont think it will come to that. Here is the first section to get you started:
Reset
To reset your iPod nano (2nd generation):
1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip:
If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
Take care,
Sterling

My ipod nano is not recognized in itunes on my computer, when it has in the past. How do I fix this problem?

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

  • TS1702 My IPod Nano is synched to my ITunes library, but when I click on the Device name, all of the music is "grayed out" and I can't click on anything.

My IPod Nano is synched to my ITunes library and shows up under Devices, but when I click on the Device name, all of the music is "grayed out" and I can't click on anything.

In order for this content to not appear grayed out, you need to enable the Manually manage music option from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.  Keep in minding that manually managing your iPod's contents is different from having content automatically sync to your device from iTunes.  See here for more information.

  • IPod nano content wiped out when I charged my battery on computer. Any way of retrieving tunes?

IPOd Nano content, including all my tunes, was wiped out after I charged the battery on my computer.  Any way of retrieving the content?

Isn't the content that was stored on the Nano still in your iTunes library?  If so, simply resync it back over to your device as usual.
If it's no longer in iTunes, you'll need to either redownload the content from the iTunes or rerip this music into iTunes.

  • Ipod nano does not sync with itunes library, ipod nano does not sync with itunes library

bought an ipod nano, upgraded Itunes to version 11 running on Windows 8.
My nano is set  up with a different apple ID than my main account, but it won't sync with my Itunes Library, When I plug it in via USB, the IPOD nano icon shows up in Itunes, but when I do File>Devices>Sync,  the Snyc is grayed out.
does the differenct apple ID on the nano have anything to do with the fact that it is different from my Itunes Apple ID, is that causing a problem? Most of the music in my library is uploads from CDs I had already owned, not Itunes purchases.
    Solutions?

Automatic syncing is set up on the iPod's Music tab in iTunes, which is where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits on iPod.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab.  For example (if you want to keep it simple), you can create a new playlist in iTunes and add all songs you want on the iPod to that playlist.  Back on the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.  There are many ways to set it up...
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs syncs to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create that playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs) whenever you want, and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity.

  • IPod Nano won't sync after iTunes update to 11

My 5th Generation iPod Nano will not sync to iTunes 11. I am running iTunes 11.0.1, on an one year old iMac running on an Intel Core i5, running MacOS X 10.8.2 with 4 GB of memory. Now that we got that out of the way-- I use this iPod daily. Once I updated to iTunes 11, synching has been sporatic. Once I plug the iPod in, iTunes opens like it should, however the iPod never appears in the iTunes window, only in the Finder. I have done the following:
ejected the iPod from the Finder window and then unplugged it, and reattached the iPod.
Quit iTunes and restarted, reStarted the iPod by toggling the power switch and holding the Menu/Select buttons until it restarted.
    Rebooted my computer
    Restored the iPod nano
Results are the same. Sometimes it will sync, after an extended period of time, without reason. Once I eject and need to reconnect the device, I am unable to get it to sync. Sometimes I have ended up with a spinning beachball and have force quit iTunes and sent a report and a description, but Apple doesn't seem to have come up with an update yet.
I can tell you this-- I have not seen an iPod that would be a suitable replacement for this one-- I love not having to look at the screen to operate it's simple controls, and it is the perfect size.
I can also tell yo uthis-- The new suprise user interface on iTunes 11 is clunky and requires too many steps to maintain my playlists. Do not like it.

  • Ipod Nano icon not showing in  itunes and I've tried everything suggested

My ipod nano is not showing in itunes and I've tried everything that has been suggested by Apple.  I updated iTunes, I've reset the ipod.  I just want to download my songs!  Help! Please and Thank you.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

You should take the time to familiarize yourself with the documentation that is available.  You can "uncheck" a song in iTunes, and then do a manual update.

    Hello, Tracy,
I would suggest that you ask your question in the Using iTunes Store with Windows forum. This forum is for the Apple TV and so not the place where you'll be most likely to get help with your issue.
    Good luck.

  • Ipod Nano does not appear in Itunes source

    Hi all
I have an Ipod Nano and an Ibook, however when i plug my Nano into my Ibook it will not appear in the source menu in Itunes, but the nano does appear on my desktop. I am using Itunes Version 1.1.2, do i need to up grade my Itunes before it will recognise my Nano? If so which version of Itunes will i be able to install onto an Ibook g3 500mhzx running on OSX 10.1.5?

Your version of Mac OS X is too old to use an iPod nano as anything other than an external flash drive; the compatible iPods with your configuration are the first through fourth generation full-size models and the original iPod mini. You need at least Mac OS X 10.3 before an iPod nano will show up in iTunes.
All compatible iPods must be connected through FireWire for use with iTunes in Mac OS X 10.15 regardless of the presence of USB connectivity on the iPod. iPods which require an USB connection are not compatible with your version of Mac OS X.

  • My new Ipod Nano isn't recognized by itunes.

My new Ipod Nano isn't recognized by itunes.  I did all of the troubleshooting and even uninstalled Apple Mobile Device.  I can't get it back.  Can anyone help me?

    Hi MartyP680,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It appears that you're receiving a message that your iPod nano can't be identified properly, and you've already tried removing and reinstalling iTunes. You've also isolated this behavior to only one of your PCs.
If the issue persists, there are some additional tips in this article that may help, including verifying that the Apple Mobile Device Support service installed properly and is running:
iPod nano: Error message saying that iPod could not be identified properly - Apple Support
The "Learn More" section also mentions some other potentially conflicting software to look for on your PC.
    Best Regards,

Click the shaded box on the top left on itunes 11. Then click show menu bar. From there click the one that says view on the menu bar. Then click show sidebar. Then click on the devices name when connected. Click change device named.

  • After restoring ipod nano it wont sync with itunes. states error 13019 occured

after restoring ipod nano it wont sync with itunes. states error 13019 occured

I seem to recall that another user has this problem and found that it was because of some corrupted music files they were trying to sync over.
Try syncing smaller bunches of tracks till you come upon the ones that cause the error. You should be able to find out which ones are causing the trouble this way.
The other user said they used something called MP3Diags. I cannot vouch for this software at all, I have never used it.
I did a quick search on "how to repair MP3 files on Mac" and also found this:
