IPod nano delivered without new features

I ordered an iPod nano right after Phil Schiller walked up on stage and released an update to the 6th generation models. The new features convinced me to buy it, especially the wide range of clock faces available with the new model.
I got the iPod in the mail. But it was the old version, and it didn't have the different clockfaces, only black and white.
So I phoned apple, and they said I should send it back and order it again.
So I ordered it again. I just got the new one today, and it was THE OLD ONE again. I was pretty mad. I phoned apple again, this time they transferred me to tech support. The guy there said I DID have the right one and all I need to do is enable the clockfaces in settings. So he sent me a manual explaining how to do that.
But when the manual says there should be a big list of clockfaces, there is just black and white.
Another difference is that the icons are four small ones on each screen, and the new one is supposed to have just one large icon.
So now I'm stuck with this iPod. If I send it back and order yet another one online, I'm sure I'll just get this one again.
I live 5 hours away from an apple store.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Thank you! Wow this makes me un-frustrated.
I just wish apple would have told me this so I didnt have to send my first one back.
Whew!

  • We have itunes music on a computer, an ipod nano, and a new ipod touch under two different accounts. How can we combine the music from both accounts to one device?

We have itunes music on a computer, an ipod nano, and a new ipod touch under two different accounts. How can we combine the music from both accounts to one device?

There is no "adding" a device.  Simply plug the iDevice into the computer.  iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

I have just bought an ipod classic, I already have an ipod nano.  The new ipod was connected to the computer to charge and it named itself with my name on the old nano, how do I get the computer to recognise the new one?

My mistake, it was nothing to do with format.  It woldn't sync because my movies were HD.  HD movies won't sync to an iopd classic 160 GB but when you purchase a HD movie, itunes gives you a SD vervsion of the movie which is compatible with the ipod.  Just needed to go to store, click movies, click purchased and untick the HD box and there you have the SD versions.  Download the SD versions and then sync your ipod and bobs you uncle, movies are on the ipod

  • How can I add the content from a iPod Nano to a new iTunes account

how can I add the content from a iPod Nano to a new iTunes account

On the computer in iTunes log into her Apple ID and then see if recent purchases are shown by clicking on her name in iTunes, entering her password and then selecting the option. If there is nothing there then she bought that music with a different Apple ID.
You can use TouchCopy to move all the songs on the iPod to the computer. Then try to play one of the purchase songs and it should show the account used to purchase it and ask for the password.

  • How to move all music files and pictures from Ipod nano to a new Windows computer that was not backed up on an external harddrive, only found on my ipod.

My windows lap top was recently destroyed to the point of no recovery.
All of my music and picture files are still located on my ipod and I plan on getting a new windows laptop
Is there anyway that I can transfer my (unpurchased) music files and pictures from my ipod nano to my new computer?
The pictures are more important that the music, so if only one is possible, I would prefer that
I appreciate any ones helpful comments

Copy the iTunes library from your backup as below:
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
    Sync with the restored library.

When connecting ipad to itunes, in the Summary tab (in itunes for your device), look in the Backups section and choose to back up to itunes.

  • IPod Nano using the new Camera Connector

I resently purchased an iPod Nano and a new Camera Connector direct from Apple. Before I did this I checked the compatability issue with both the camera and the camera connector, and with the Nano and the camera connector. All the adds at the Apple store state that the camera connector works with all ipods that have a color screen. When I connect them the screen on the ipod states "The currently attached accessory is not supported by this iPod". They advertise that you can store 25,000 photos in a Nano. Did I waste my money on a Nano and camera connector. (I already had a 4G 20GB iPod with an older Belkin Camera connector)

Yes, you may have wasted your money on the camera connector. The problem is that the camera connector has been out for a while and, at the time it was made, the only color iPods were full sized ones, and the camera worked with them. So, what they advertised was true up to the time until the Nano was released.
Now, Apple has released the Nano, which technically is a color iPod, and it dosen't work with the camera connector. The problem is that they haven't changed the advertising for other products to account for limitations of the Nano yet.

  • Can I exchange the old iPod nano for the new iPod nano?

I was wondering if I can exchange my old iPod nano for a new one even if it costs a tiny bit extra.

    Hi Deborah,
Your profile doesn't say what country you live in, but for example, if you go to the US Apple online store, you can click on the
    b Sales and Refunds
link at the bottom of the page, to find Apple's policy.
I'd suggest you dig a bit deeper into the online store site until you get to the appropriate
    b education store
    webpage, in case the
    b Sales and Refunds
links at the bottom of that page leads to a modified policy.
And even if you are past the stated
    b Refunds
period, you have nothing to lose by calling the appropriate number (eg. in the US: 1-800-676-2775) to see if you can get a Return Material Authorization, especially since you wish to order a new computer at the same time. The worst they can say is "no".
I'm assuming the iBook transaction was entirely online, but if it was instead bought through a campus bookstore to get the educational discount, the campus bookstore would then be another place to approach to see if they have different policies to the online store.
    best of luck,
    ...ben
PS. I assume you know that this is a user-to-user discussion forum, and Apple won't respond to the questions you post here? But you will certainly find empathetic, fellow Mac owners who are happy to help you if they can.

  • How does one copy songs from an iPod nano to a new computer?

How does one copy songs from an iPod nano to a new computer?

You can't add any iOS to a Nano since it doesn't run iOS.
For iTunes purchased music connect to your computer and in iTunes go to File > Transfer purchases.
For non-iTunes music you will need 3rd party software. Assuming you have a Windows computer try Yamipod.
