I am having trouble with my ipod nano. when i plug in my nano i have a error come up saying " the required disc cannot be found" and after that another one is "the requested playlist can no longer be synced because it no longer exists" but yet i can go to the selected playlist and play songs. i have figured out how to update the ipod with all the songs and the correct playlist but when i need to charge it, i got back to square one with no songs and unable to sync. i need some help. ive found another topic on this exact problem and i have followed all those instructions and still have the same problem. • Ipod Nano Error 1417 Tried and won;t work

I've tried looking through the restart method, the disconnect and reconnect method, and nothing works. My Ipod Nano is Ver. 1.0, and the update process does not pop up with a dialogue box, all it does is 'updating' but it's really doing nothing, help?

are you still at an itunes version 7.0.0.70, Chang?
to check, go "help > about itunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen.
if you've still got a 7.0.0.70, first try an upgrade to 7.0.1.8:
    iTunes 7.0.1.8 Installer
if you still get the 1417 when using 7.0.1.8, let's get your iPod Updater logs to the Apple engineers for a look.
    Open this folder:
    C:\Documents and Setings\yourusername\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Updater Logs
(You may need to show hidden files in order to see the Application Data folder. Open up My Computer, and in the Tools menu, choose "Folder Options..." Then go to the View tab, and then in the "Advanced settings", select "Show hidden files and folders.")
Send the files inside the iPod Updater logs folder as attachments to this email address.
In the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • IPod Nano error message when syncing to iTunes to update Nike+

I am using an 8 gb iPod nano multi touch with Nike+ and when I connect it to iTunes to update Nike+ to sync my runs it continuously says "The Nike+ website is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." This has been occuring since Nike updated their website. I have updated iTunes and still the error messages occurs. Anyone else have this issue if so is there a solution?

I too cannot sync my iPod. I get the message "Unknown Error 13019." What the heck does this mean? Can anyone assist or provide guidance?

  • IPod Nano Error Message (-48)

I've just got my NEW iPod Nano (Red 4GB) out of the box and when I connected it to iTunes I keep getting the Error Message "Unable to update iPod Bob Error Message (-48)."
Despite the (-48) Error Message the iPod does seemingly update Songs/Photos etc.
I have got a 60GB Video iPod and a new Black iPod Nano (8GB) and have no problems with either of them.
Does anyone know what Error (-48) is????
    Thank you in advance!
    Bob

I have just got back from the Regent Street Apple Store - the trip took 5 hours (I live way outside of London) and cost £35 in fares (thanks Apple!)
I met with a guy from the iPod Genius Bar - and there is indeed a "problem" with Error (-48) which Apple are fully aware of. I took my iPod Nano (4GB Red) which DOES have this problem and my iPod Nano (8GB Black) which does not PLUS my iBook so the guys at Apple could see for themselves the problem I am having.
It seems they are aware of the problem - but could offer NO solution at this time and Apple are definaitely working it! They took data dumps of my iTunes / Mac Configuration etc. and details of both Black and Red iPods (serial numbers etc.)
They were very helpful - and advised me to keep the Red 4GB and sit tight until the Update/Patch to solve the problem is available from Apple.
I was one of MANY turning up at the Genius Bar that day with the SAME problem!
So - there are no quick / sure solutions to this one - I guess we have to wait for Apple to release the fix.

  • Can't update ipod nano: errors 1417 and 1428

I bought my 4gb iPOD nano a month or so ago and initially it worked perfectly. For the last week when I plug it in to my PC iTunes detects it and lists what's on it but won't update it or write to it in any way: it variously gives me error numbers 1417 and 1428. Bizzarely I can copy files onto it absolutely fine through Windows. I can't even restore it to factory settings since I can't write anything to it! Help!
    Thanks very much

some people have been having some success with the 1417 using eboncairn's technique:

  • IPod Nano: Error Message "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it"

Hi everyone, I just received 2 brand new iPod Nanos for my kids for Christmas, thought I'd be smart and sync them both now before wrapping them so I don't have to be messing around with them on the day. One synced without a problem, then using the same cable, same computer, same USB port, the 2nd one came up with "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it" I've tried restarting my computer, unplugging and reinserting the USB. Is there anthing else I can try before returning it? Thanking you for any help.

I have solved my problem, I ended up ringing Apple and got an awesome lady who told me to reset it by pressing the sleep button and menu button together for about 10 seconds and once it actually turned on for the first time the computer then recognised it, so it's all good, :-) Thank you lovely lady!

Can i do to cancel these 6 old download?
    THANKS!!!!!!

my ipod is still having several problems with this
issue. its a 4GB and it will NOT put any more than
about 100 songs on it before that dang "error -69"
message pops up. its so annoying and the price i paid
for this ipod, i should be able to put as many songs
on it as i want, especially itunes purchased ones.
why does it do this? why cant apple improve the
itunes to make this "error" not happen. UGH.
I have a problem in my IPOD,
It is asking for some code
when you switch on the IPOD, it says
"Enter Code" I do not have any code.
I have never used any code to use this IPOD.

  • Ipod nano error when turned on

When i turn on my nano it shows an icon saying www.apple.com/support..help please? what do i do?
    Sony   Windows XP

I wish I could help you too. I've run into the exact same problem and nothing that I'm following in the manual is helping. My screen actually says "Do not disconnect." If I toggle with it and try to reset it, then the same screen as you described comes on.
I'm waiting for someone that can help me too.

  • IPod Nano error message

Error message: The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software (NOTE: I HAVE NOT INSTALLED ANY OTHER CD BURNING SOFTWARE). Please reinstall iTunes.
I need specific instructions re: how to reinstall iTunes.
    Dell Dimension 8300   Windows XP

with that one, let's first try a "reboot and repair".
Reboot the PC (very important), and then do a repair install of iTunes. in your Add/Remove Programs Control Panel, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if no joy with the reboot and repair, check for a device filter conflict in your Registry. see:
