IPod Nano Froze today

So I just got my 2 Gen iPod for Christmas and it froze today. I was scrolling through songs, and it would not play certain ones. I'd select them, press play, and it would skip 2-3 songs, sometimes more and play whatever was next, but not the song that I selected. Then the whole thing froze. I used the restart with the Menu and Select, but it still did the jumping songs thing. I used iTunes to reset it to factory settings, and it seems to be working fine for now. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this happen or has any clue what caused it or how to avoid it or whatever. Thanks!

It could be happened with a simple reason i.e. corrupted OS files on the iPod, do a Restore with factory settings is not something unusual, so please do not worry with it.

My Ipod Nano FROZE!! And I can't get it to turn off!!

Ok, so it isn't MY Ipod Nano. I bought it for my younger sister. But I told her to give it to me if she had any troubles, and I am lost now. She gave it to me and the thing is FROZE!! However, it really doesn't matter, the problem is solved for now.
For future reference, the wonderful manual[*] on page 45 actually recommends the following:
To reset iPod nano:
1 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again).
2 Press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Ipod nano froze and emits high pitch buzz.

I placed the ipod nano on my dock. It turned on and began buzzing. I cannot get it to go. I connect it to itunes, try to reset it with the ipod software and nothing.

Help please...my ipod nano froze

My Nano froze (2gb,2nd Gen)...i tried turning it off but it doesnt work...when i plug it into my computer itunes doesnt recognize it!
help..its not even going dark..the light is on

WHAT NOW?? My Ipod Nano froze.

My ipod froze completely and I am unable to do anything with, other than watch it as the battery goes dead. I would much rather listen to my music now instead of having to wait. Could anyone help me? This has happened before.

Try Resetting your iPod. Hold down the MENU and SELECT (centre) buttons for five or ten seconds until you see the Apple logo appear then the menu button to go to the normal display. Have a look at these links for more information:

Ipod nano froze!

I got my nano ipod in the mail and turned it on for first time and it was like frozen on "on-the-go" page and wont even turn off .. how can i unfreeze it or turn it off or somthing.. it wont reconize it on the computer as being hooked in either.. help me!

Go to apple.com/support in the search fieldtype ipod frozen there will a article that shows up and it should help you get your ipod un-frozen and then if that does not help maybe taking it to a apple retailer or calling tech support.

My 1st generation ipod nano froze today on the menu.
I've resetted it holding the select and menu button and i've restored it from itunes a few times.
Now it freezes on the language menu. It's like the wheel and select button don t work anymore, though they work when i reset the ipod.
I also reinstalled itunes and updated itunes and the ipod OS.
Same issue.
Anyone has an idea?

Windows Vista iPod Nano Issues

I just bought an iPod Nano 8GB today and when I tried to connect it to my Windows Vista System after installing iTunes, I get an "Add new Hardware" wizard asking me to install the driver for the iPod which obviously doesn't work.
Of course, I've tried the 5Rs several times and none of them work. Asking here is my last resort.
I know there are currently issues with Vista but clearly this isn't one of those listed under the article on the site. So I was wondering if this is only specific to my PC.

Ipod Nano not recognised as an iPod

Hi, I have a fourth generation iPod nano, which today just started not working correctly. When inserted into my Mac, it will be recognized as a removable drive (with the name "noname" on the desktop, and it is not recognized at all in iTunes. I have tried resetting the nano, but that doesn't help. I have also tried running in disk mode which also did nothing. When I double click on the Noname icon, it is completely empty. When I look at the iPod menus they are all there but there is no music. I tried to restore it, but since it will not appear as a device in iTunes, I can not do this...
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

7th Generation iPod Nano connection issue

My Dell Inspiron N7110 does not recognize my brand new 7th generation iPod Nano even when I use a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port.

Gee...I'm answering my own posts. But...this is the deal. Apparently, my iPOD Nano froze...and one thing I did not do was reset it. I did that, and by IPOD was suddenly recognized by my computer....and is now happily charging, etc. So, case solved.

Ipod nano will not charge and will not be recognizsed by itunes

I got an ipod nano 4gb today, if i plug it into the computer , windows will recognize it like for the device connected sound, but neither my computer nor itunes will show the ipod. the second i disconnect the ipod it says that there is no battery life, its new out of the box, no matter how long i charge it, it still says that there is no battery. what can i do, should i get it fixed or replaced.

Have you taken it back to the shop and plugged it into their computer? Does their computer or itunes recognise it? If not, new ipod please. If yes, probably something wrong with your computer/cable/port etc.

I wanted to watch a podscats and the screen went black!
How can I resolve the situation?

IPod G5 froze, can anyone help with a fix?

My iPod G5 froze today with the screen and backlight still on. When I try to reset it (pressing menu and play), it does nothing, but the buttons still click like they should. Any suggestions?

Hey there,
Have you tried hooking the iPod up to your computer? If you can do that, it may be a good idea to restore the iPod, but only if you have everything on your iPod backed up somewhere safely because restoring it will return the iPod to its original default settings. If that doesn't work, you could always just let the battery die and then you should be able to hook it up to your computer. Hope this helps. Also, make sure you have tried all of Apple's 5 Rs which can be found below.

IPod nano click wheel is crooked...

So I just bought a silver ipod nano 5g today, and it's great. But when I opened the case, I noticed that the click wheel is not lined up correctly. There is a small space between the outer part of the wheel and the body on the left side. The wheel itself works fine, but the space is pretty noticeable and it's annoying. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it worth taking it back to the Apple Store and exchanging it?

Quick bounce from LOGIC PRO 7 to iPOD nano?!

I bought myself an ipod nano 4Gig today.
Since I am a music producer, my intention was to use it as a much more efficient and effective way of listening to the music that I produce on my G5 in Logic Pro 7.
In the past I would bounce the pre-production trax and then use waveburner to write them to a CD-RW. A lot of the time the CD-RW would fail or some CD-players just didnt want to read them + it really took long to get them to CD. So the ipod was for me was an attempt at making this process much quicker and just a whole lot more effective.
So my question is, do any of you know what the fastest and most effective way is to bounce your trax from Logic to the ipod? I tried bouncing directly to the ipod and even though it work and I can see the file is on the ipod, I can't access it and play it. Can one ONLY work through itunes inorder for you to add songs to the ipod?
My friend brought a cheap old little MP3 player to the studio once and it was so easy, I just popped the entire unit into the USB plug (didnt need any cables) and bounced the track straight to the MP3 player, ejected the player and boom played the song.
The only reason why I didn't buy the same MP3 player is because I would like to bounce my songs to my player in AIFF or WAV format not only MP3, so the ipod was the only MP3 player that could do this that I knew of. The ipod does seem to do some of the most basic things the long way around. I mean it can't plug into your USB port without the cable, which is frustrating because how many times does one forget to bring the cable etc.

I seem to have posted this topic twice, got all the awnsers I wanted on the first post.
