Ipod Nano has White Screen...

my ipod nano, first generation has a white screen. not sure how it happened since it came back to me like that after getting it returned when it had been stolen
the screen is completely white, it lights up but i can't see anything on it, no matter what i press or do. it still plays music though.
please help

Another white screen!! I thought it was just me. Surely enough people have encountered this problem to be able to offer us some help. My screen is all white but does play music. I can't see anything, no calendar, no contacts, no nothing! I have only had it for 2 months and am already frustrated. I didn't drop it, I didn't get it wet, just one day BAM, couldn't see anyhting.
Suggestions anybody???

  • 6th gen ipod nano has white screen and won't go into disc mode

My ipod nano has a white screen - it will play music, and it is recognized by itunes. It won't enter disc mode. I can't seem to find any other helpful steps to follow online other than put it into disc mode and restore it via itunes. When I attempt to put it into disc mode holding power/Vol down together the screen will turn back, but when I then hold down Vol down/Vol up together while the screen is dark it just goes back to white screen. I did plug it into the computer and restore it via itunes, and the screen is still white.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

    Hi LizS5,
It sounds as if you have already done much of the troubleshooting suggested in this article, but I would suggest you work through it in order to get your iPod nano back up and running -
iPod nano (6th generation): Hardware troubleshooting

    Specifically -
Try putting the iPod into disk mode:
Reset the device (press the Sleep and Volume Down buttons simultaneously until the display turns black—about eight seconds).
When the display turns black, hold down the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device enters Disk mode.
While the device is in disk mode, sync it to iTunes and try to restore.
And if the issue is not resolved -
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Ipod touch has white  screen and not responsive

ipod touch has white screen and not responsive, pls. suggest solution

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod silver has white screen

I have a ipod silver that has a white screen you can still hear the music and toggle. Just nothing but white screen. I have tried the 5 rs and tried reset and restore. I have reinstalled itunes and ipod software. Itunes reconizes it as normal. I am looking for a fix that works. Any ideas?

If you did a Restore on it, and the problem remains, it is likely to be a hardware problem related to the screen or logic board.  A fix would then require replacing the faulty part inside.

  • 4th gen ipod touch has white screen

I have a 4th generation Ipod touch. The screen turned white all of a sudden for no reason. I've tried holding buttons letting it die and plugging it back in but the white screen is still there. It still makes noise. like the other day it was making a noise like someone was calling it. Then if I press the sleep/wake button and home button it takes a picture and I can hear the noise but still have the white screen. Does anyone know what I can do? Thanks

    try one of these ways:
    > restore you iDevice with iTunes in Recovery Mode (if you have to... back up your device before restoring)
    > let the battery go completely dead.... then plug it using USB to PC or Mac OS
    > replace the LCD with www.ifixandrepair.com
    > go to the Apple Store (official store not retail) and see what they can do. they can replace your device for refurbished price

  • My iPod Classic has white screen.

This morning i wanted to turn it on, but it couldn't, so i thought it was discharged. it was already unusual as have all of my devises charged and clean all the time. When i came home it plugged it in to my MacBook Pro in hope to have it in proper order by the evening. But it didn't work and worse that that, the white screen appeared! I have tried all the steps that apple suggested, but it just wouldn't work! What to do? My Mac doesn't see the Ipod and the thing itself is completelly silent, nothing works apart from the screen.

  • Ipod  touch has white screen and not responding

screen is white and not responding

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • Ipod classic has white screen and do not disconnect when connected to computer and ok to disconnect when not connected to computer and stays on recognized in computer but not in itunes

has anyone had this problem followed the steps to rest but i keep getting the same problem

If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked “enable disk use”, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.

  • Ipod touch has white screen

Have tried to restore twice and have held the two buttons down for 30 seconds... no fix... it is charged and it has not been dropped or had any liquids on it... any help is appreciated...

You may have a major disconnection, defective Liquid Crystals, or, less likely, an operating system error. You will have to talk to Apple.
