Ipod nano hold key

ipod nano hold key is not working. It keeps nano on hold. I tried to recover it through itunes, but it is still not working. What else could I do that will save me a trip to the service center? Thanks a lot

did you solve this? I have the same problem. no matter how many times I toggle hold switch, hold stays on. can not reset as the menu/select buttons do not work (presumably because of "hold" being on).

  • What does the Ipod Nano hold exactly?

I was just wondering if it held everything like the ipod original does? Will it hold files like the ipod use to or is it just for music and movies?

The iPod nano is just a smaller, less capacious version of the iPod classic. There are no differences in capabilities.

  • Ipod nano hold button

my ipod nano is a new 4gb version. two weeks old.
    the hold button works intermittenly.
This causes the ipod freezes up and the resets dont unlock the hold button even after i have moved it the unhold setting.
These problems occur when i use the nano in the gym and have it hanging round by neck on the lanyard headphones.
Question is do the machines in the gym (treadmills)affect the ipods ?
or does the "sweet" cause it problems ?

Perhaps when the iPod is juggling around, you're actually shaking up the nano's flash drive. This would cause it not to work so well.
Have you tried restoring your iPod, though? For more info, check out this Support article here -> How to restore your iPod

  • Can the ipod nano hold movies

Can ipod nano generation 6 hold movies?

The third, fourth, and fifth generation iPod nanos can. The first, second, and sixth can't play movies, but can be used to transfer them between computers by using the iPod as an external drive.
iTunes won't sync content to an iPod which can't use it.

B: Tried to reset it by sliding the hold button and pressing Select and Menu repaeadetly for minimum 10 seconds at a time (flat on the table - to hands - one finger from each)
    C: Restarted my Mac

  • How much music does a 7th generation ipod nano hold?

I know you can't know for sure but if you have nothing other then music how much should it be able to store?

You still can't tell for sure; the number of songs it will hold depends on the iPod's capacity as well as the length and bitrate of each song.

  • Approx how many songs will new ipod nano hold?

My daughter has an older generation ipod touch and she has exceeded its storage capacity.  Do I need to go to the ipod classic or will the new nano work?

The iPhone can indeed be used as an iPod - there's an app for that, preinstalled, imaginatively named "iPod".
You can put music on the iPhone in exactly the same way you can with the iPod Touch - the iPhone really IS an iPod Touch, with a phone app.

  • Hold key crashing nano ipod

Hi Again, every time I use the hold key it works but if i take it off it causes the ipod to freeze up and crash. Any ideas on how to stop this or is it a fault that requires it going back into the store?
    Thanks

  • TA44551 My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work.

My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work. I tried to restore it again and charged it in three different locations with different cables. etc but nothing. Suggestions?

    - After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod?  If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
    - If no, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

    Daniella,
The estimated song capacities, such as 4000 songs in 16 GB, are based on 4 minute songs of 4 MB each, which is what you get at 128 encoding.
Most of us nowadays use well above 128.  (For example, the iTunes Store and Amazon MP3 both sell songs only in 256.)
However, you can still make more songs fit!  When you sync your iPod, use the option to "convert higher bit rate songs," as pictured.  Choose 128.  This fits more on the iPod, but does not change the songs in your library.

  • Help! ipod nano won't hold as many songs as it says it can

I have an ipod nano that is 2GB and can hold up to 500 songs. I only have 113 songs on it and when i try to put more on it it says that there is not enough room to put more songs on it. How do i make it able to hold more songs????

Bear in mind that the song limit advertised is based on 4 minute per song, 1MB per minute, encoded as 128 kbps in AAC format.
Check the encoding of your songs. To do this, right click one the sorting columns in iTunes tick bit rate, then click this new column to sort the songs by bit rate. Any songs that are encoded at higher than 128 kbps will be causing excess space to be used for storage. To change the bit rate of these songs you can convert them to AAC format (sound quality will be lost). Or you can reimport them from CD/Computer once you have changed the import settings as detailled below, but that could be time consuming.
To convert go to the edit menu, select preferences, click the advanced tab, and select importing. For best song capacity on the iPod, make sure that the encoder is set to "Import using AAC encoder", and "High quality 128 kbps". Hit OK. Then collect together all the high encoded songs and select them all (click the top one and hold shift, then click the bottom one). Right click the highlighted area and go to "Convert selection to AAC". This could take a while if there are many songs.
Once complete, go to the Edit menu, and select "Show duplicate songs". Delete all the "old" songs, recognisable by their bitrate, format or size. Again, to show these, right click a sorting column, and tick the respective ones.
Once this is done, update the iPod.
If your songs are all changed into 128kbps AAC and are mostly all around 4 mins long, then you should get very close to the song limit advertised

  • IPod Nano 6th Generation Not Charging/Holding Charge

    Hi.
My iPod Nano 6th generation will not charge or hold a charge. I plug it in and it will turn on for about 30 seconds or less and then die. It will then continue to turn on and die unless I unplug it in which case it will die and not turn on. Any advice/suggestions and/or help finding what is wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

hold down the enter button for 5 secs then plug into wall while still holding it down.
