IPod Nano International Clock Settings

I live in India and recently bought an iPod Nano. I wanted to use the International Clocks but the timing listed for the European cities as well as the Asian cities is wrong by exactly half an hour ahead of the real time.
Apple India are saying there is nothing they can do as there is no option to change manually the time on the listed cities. My Nano shows the correct time as I entered it manually, but I wanted to get some of the European cities as well.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem???

Could be something to do with Daylight Saving Time. Set the clock to the "wrong" time then select daylight saving time and adjust it either on or off, this could change the time. Other than that, send it in for a service.

my ipod nano's clock is half an hour ahead though my settings are correcti am living in mumbai and so has set karachi as my time.ther is no adjustment and this clock is independent of the digital clock setting .plz suggest

well i got my nano just a week back and all looks fine.since its paper thin and very delicate you have to take good care of it in handling.the piece looks cute and has a very good sound quality .i have already downloaded songs and around 50 pics.pics show out decent.just one thing to remember dont remove the inner transparent covering on the nano to protect your screen and body.as of now i am pleased with my nano.

IPod nano world clocks off?

For some reason the clocks in the extra's section are off by three hours. I live in the eastern time zone and the internal clock under settings is set to the correct time. Let's say its 3 o'clock EST and the ipod is set to that, i'll to to extras clock and set NYC as one of my clocks. Its says its 6 o'clock in NYC. Why is this???

Problems with ipod nano world clock...

i bought my ipod nano yesterday... and i cant get the clock working properly... everything is ok... i mean i select the time zone put my local time add a clock from a city in south america (that has 2 hours of difference) i am in miami FL, USA and i select the time zone and all that and put the time and add that city and it works ok the time is right... but when i plug the ipod to the pc the clock completely desconfigurates.... and the time from that city is wrong... is or 3 hours of diference or 1 hours of diference and so on.. it never stays exactly as how i put it... someone can help me??

BUG: - iPod Nano Software - Clock - Arizona no longer in MST

This is a pretty simple one. Since Arizona started observing Daylight Savings time, they also now observe PST clocks which the iPod Nano software does not reflect.
I'm willing to bet this is a bug across more products than just the iPod Nano software.

I'd be willing to bet that Apple considers the
updated behavior to be the "Correct" behavior.
According to the Apple Nano Features Guide:
"Turn on backlight - If the backlight timer is set to Off, press and hold Menu to turn on the backlight"
I would argue that the issue I am experiencing after update is not the correct behavior. Every iPod made, save the shuffle, functioned this same way: hold the menu button for 1-2 seconds to enable backlight.

HT1339 Restoring iPod nano to factory settings failed. The device switched to black screen immediately and is dead since then. Any idea what I can do now?

This week, my iPod nano suddenly seemed to have lost all the music that was on it.
when connecting to iTunes, it showed that the music was still there.
I tries to create a new playlist with 1 song in it and according to iTunes, that was successfull.
the iPod however still said 0 numbers are available in the music list.
finally, i executed the restore factory settings and that process failed.
the device immediately switched to blank screen and is dead since then.
when I connect the iPod to the computer, the computer detects that a device is connected and even recognizes it as an iPod.
however, the device is not visisble in the windows explorer.
iTunes automatically starts but shows the error message: the connected iPod cannot be identified ... unrecognized error (2005).
Does someone have an idea what I can do to make the iPod work again?

I tried by connecting to another available PC.
I newly installed iTunes on a PC that did not have the installation.
Connecting the iPod to this PC gave following error: "The iPod software update server could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes."
I followed the instructions in the "more information" section: iTunes version is the latest available; operating system version is up-to-date, no security obstructions and I rebooted my pc as suggested.
Next attempt to connect the iPod gave another error: "An iPod has been detected, but could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again. An unknown error occurred (2005)".
This is exactly the same error as on the first PC.

Ipod nano alarm clock

Hi guys, help needed
I was sent an email from Apple saying that i can use my ipod nano as an alarm clock, and thats true...i can, however it also said, wake up to your favourite track......
heres the problem, all i can get is a setting for a beep, not to have it come alaive at the set time with my favourite track...
any ideas appreciated

The track you want to wake up to must be in a playlist.
So, create a playlist (with just one track if that's all you want) and select this to wake up to.

Can't restore my 3rdG iPod Nano to factory settings. I'm getting a 4136 error.

I hve the newest version of iTunes. When I plug my iPod into the computer, I get a message that says iTunes can't read the iPod's contents and I should restore the factory settings. When I try to do that it says it couldn't do the restore and I get a 4136 error. HELP!

Are you sure that your error number is not 1436 ?

ANYONE HERE UPGRADE THERE IPOD NANO (3rd) TO THE LATEST SOFTWARE RECENTLY?

I have just updated my nano and i noticed that the new software allows the clicking sound of the wheel to continue while i play the music and search for other songs. It's kind of annoying having the wheel still click while playing the song. Anyone else notice this and if so how do i turn it off?

Turning off the Click Wheel Sound
When you scroll through menu items, you can hear a clicking sound through the
iPod nano internal speaker. If you like, you can turn the Click Wheel sound off.
To turn off the Click Wheel sound:
Choose Settings and set Clicker to Off.
To turn the Click Wheel sound on again, set Clicker to On.

ITunes wiped all but iTunes purchased music from my iPad mini and my iPod nano instead of transferring the cd uploads into iTunes. Is there any way of recovering my music. Very disappointed!

Initially things worked fine. I was very pleased. I had my music library in itunes, on my Ipod nano, and a thumbdrive to back up most of my music.
When I tried to sync the music from itunes onto my new ipad mini last week it deleted the albums in itunes leaving me with only purchased itunes items in the account, On the new Ipad mini CD's from my collection could not be played but they were in fact listed. My new mac will not read the music files I backed up onto a thumb drive or show the uploaded CD music collection. Additionally when I logged into itunes with out any devices connected from my PC the itunes account was completely up to date with my CD's and purchase items in Itunes. As soon as I tried to sync it with my Ipad mini that virtual access to the collection was wiped out leaving only purchased items.
By trying to upload CD music from my Ipod nano into Itunes (originally uploaded into itunes from CD's and synced to the ipod nano in the first place, taking more than a weeks time), I am prompted to reset the entire ipod nano to factory settings (it gives no other option). I was following the instructions emailed to me from the applecare team. This was my only recourse for recovery of the lost music files, the only device left that had my album collection aside from the owned CD's. Now the ipod nano is being wiped clean and left with only the itunes purchased music ( same thing that happened with the itunes account and now the Ipad). When I disconnect the ipod nano to see if there are any albums still left on the device, it gives me an error that it was improperly disconnected.
I just wanted to add the music from itunes to my new mac and the new ipad mini. Instead I have lost all of my uploaded CD's and now have only purchased items in itunes, the new ipad mini, the new mac, and the ipod nano. I have to re-upload my entire music library into itunes/icloud from CD's again and hopefully be able to then sync it with my new devices.
However it may be better to buy the itunes purchased music on CD's from a store, Cut my losses while I can and never buy anything from apple or itunes again. Atleast I will not have my entire music collection wiped out for moving it between my own devices. Itunes match doesn't do **** either. I have wasted alot of hard earned cash on devices products and itunes purchases by converting to apple products and services.

Had the same issue when I changed computers. I backed up my I-tunes files, including CDs, but I-Tunes will not recognize anything but Apple purchases now. There were 300+ CDs in that original catalog.

The screen is still showing. If you bring the iPod near a bright light, or shine a flashlight on it, you will be able to read the screen with no backlight.
On my 5th gen iPod nano, it is

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

IPod nano (4th generation) doesn't retain time/clock properly

I have an iPod nano model MC062LL (Version 1.0.2 PC) and the time/clock is an hour behind. I have set it properly (Settings->Date & Time->Time) but whenever I reset the iPod (which I do occassionally), it reverts back an hour. BTW, my Time Zone is properly set to *Boston*. I jog with this iPod so I'd like to have the proper times that I run. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

can a 6th generation ipod nano be locked in clock mode. i put it in clock mode but it keeps going to sleep within a minute and is becoming highly annoying-_-

Head to Settings -> General and make sure Time on Wake is set to On.
Keep in mind that if you put it to sleep when playing music, it won't wake up to the clock by default. You must put it to sleep from any other screen other than the Now Playing one.
