IPod nano loses audiobooks
I use my Nano mostly for audiobooks, but I also have music on it. Occasionally now the all the audiobooks disappear form the Nano - they aren't listed. The playlists and music are not affected - only the audiobooks. This has happened 4-5 times in the past 3 months. I have to reconnect the ipod and sync with iTunes. Then it all works fine. Any ideas on why this might be happening?

It sounds like your nano is corrupted. Have you tried doing a restore on your nano using the ipod utility program? My audiobooks work fine, so hopefully a restore will work.

I own an iPod nano 4GB. I have music, Podcasts, photos and audiobooks loaded on it and have used it about a month now. Last night I purchased "A Briefer History of Time" by Stephen Hawking, downloaded it and copied it to my nano. It plays fine on my desktop but when I try to play it on teh nano the screen flashes between the two files that make up the book then jumps to the main menu. Now all the audiobooks I have purchased do the same. I have 300+ MB available on the nano, off-loaded all other audio books, performed a reset, and everything else I can think of but nothing has resolved the problem. Now I can no longer listen to any of the five audiobooks I have purchased from iTunes. Any ideas out there? It sure would be apprecaited before I decide to sell it and get a regular MP3 player. TS1425 iPod nano - loses functionality when connected to car radio
For the past week, when I connect my iPod nano (4th generation) to a car radio (and I've tried it in several) it brings up a splash screen of the radio manufacturer which stays on the iPod screen and prevents any further access to the iPod functionality. This only happens when connected to a car radio, otherwise the iPod functions normally. So in effect, the iPod is unusable when connected to the car radio, which is where I do most of my listening. Anyone know how to help eliminate this problem?
It sounds like a battery issue to me. When you connect it to the PC it draws power from the computer and thus it is able to function. Apparently it doesn't have enough of its own juice anymore. You probably just need a new battery.

Help -- iPod Nano loses charge quickly and won't start up
When I don't use the iPod for a few days and then try to start it up, it won't turn on at all. The only way I can get it to work is to connect it to the computer. It also seems to lose its charge quickly. I sent it back to have it checked out and I was told it worked fine, but I continue to have the same problems. I'm stuck. Any suggestions? Would Restore help?

I have a 6th generation nano. It works great, with one exception... whenever I try to play an audiobook when the nano is hooked to the usb in my car it plays for a second and then shuts down. It will play music, podcasts and etc., but will not play the audiobook. Any ideas?
On my 5th gen nano, there is a Setting, under Playback, for Audiobooks, to make it play Faster, Slower, or Normal. For your 6th gen nano, is that setting there, and set to something other than Normal speed?
I was about to suggest doing a Restore, but I looked back at your original post, and you tried that already...
Compare one of your older audiobooks (that play properly) to an audiobook with this problem. Do a Get Info (right-click - Get Info) on the audiobooks. On the Info window's Summary tab, are their significant differences, such as for Bit Rate and Kind. -

I just sync'd my brand new ipod Nano with my laptop PC running Windows 7, and loaded all my audiobooks. They show up on the Nano's screen, but when I select one I hear nothing. The earphones work fine when connected to another unit. What's next?
I'm ok with having to resync everything once she gets home but it concerned me when you said it would, again, wipe everything once I plugged it in here. I don't care about having to reload music, contacts, & apps from here, but I would rather not lose all the pictures that she took while she was gone. If we did decide to go the whole start-over-from-scratch route on her end while she is there, could the loss of pictures be adverted if she created a backup of her phone, copied the backup to a USB drive, & brought the backup file home with her so I could restore it from here? When I plug my phone into another computer, I can open it through My Computer & copy the pictures; could I do that when she gets home before I allow iTunes to open & wipe everything again?
I guess the other option would be to just have her just copy all of the pictures onto a USB drive before she comes home, I'm just curious if it's possible to restore everything if she just brings the backup file home.

You can deauthorise all 5 at once, then reauthorize the one you want.

You need to log into iTunes on the computer you want to deauthorise. Otherwise, contact contact iTunes Store support to see if they can help. -
Ipod nano not playing audiobooks for more than one minute at a time
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I stopped using it after I couldn't play an audiobook for more than a minute before it stopped. A friend thought she had fixed it, but I downloaded another audiobook to the ipod nano and it did the same thing...played for a minute and then turned off. I want to take it with me on a 8K walk, but it is discouraging.

I have iTunes 10.6.3.25 and I can't find my audiobooks that I downloaded from a library website. The audiobook tab is visible in iTunes but none of the audiobooks are there. They are on my iPod nano. Please help!
When you say they are displaying in your iTunes library, are you talking about the Audiobooks section of your iTunes library and not the audiobooks section indented under the iPod in the left pane of iTunes under Devices?
Is the iPod Shuffle configured to sync audiobooks or do you manually manage the iPod's contents?

my iPod nano 5th generation is not recognized by iTunes. I did update, but still, it won't work. I don't want to uninstall the iTunes cos I don't want to lose my music and audio books. What to do? It started after I updated iTunes.

iPod nano 6th generation, syncing with audiobooks does not work now, had been working. Sync test says: No iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad found. Connectivity test OK, no physical problems, iTunes shows the iPod. Any clues what to do?

Have you tried using the iPod with another user account or computer, to help narrow down whether the problem lies with the computer, account, or the iPod itself?
Maybe try reformatting it, using the tools provided by Windows. Instructions on how to reformat your iPod can be found in this article.

I have an ipod nano and use one click digital to download books from my library. My nano says I have 2449 songs which is about 65 books. I have deleted all my playlists after I listen to the audiobook. Now I get a message saying I don't have enough room on my nano to transfer new books to it. My nano is 16 GB and my operating system is Windows 7.
iTunes and Apple's devices work as an ecosystem. iTunes is designed to sync with Apple's products, not anyone else's. You'll need your songs in a format compatable with the Samsung phone and to use the software transfer program supplied/recommended. It is essentially not an Apple/iTunes problem. You may have better luck finding the information you need on Samsung's forums.

I am trying to sync an audiobook from iTunes to a 7th Generation iPod Nano. The manual says audiobooks can be synced to this device by going to iTunes, selecting the Book button and selecting sync audiobooks but when I select the Book button I do not see any syncing options to select.
