Ipod nano - lost photos from ipod classic

I had an ipod classic on my pc and then installed an ipod nano for my daughter. It automatically synched with my library. She now has my songs but cannot import any music(it takes over 1 hour to imort 16 songs -then show durations of over 400 minutes and will not play. In addition I have lost all my photographs. Can anybody over a solution or should I put the lot in the bin? I am desperate - already spent 4 hours at this! Thanks

Pic sync is one way - computer to ipod.
Ipod will sync pics with one computer at a time. If you sync to another, then it will first erase the current content from the ipod, then replace with content from the new computer.

  • Updating my ipod nano with photos from itune

I have been facing an error ("The ipod cannot be update. the disk could not be read from or written to")when I try to update photos from itunes to the ipod nano.
Although I have been updating music successfully and using the last version of itunes (6) and ipod software it persists with this error.
Do you have any hint to give me ?

Restore the iPod and then see this article for different ways to sync content to your iPod when your iTunes library is larger than what your iPod can hold.

  • Some photos lost transferring from ipod to pc

    Hi
This problem is really bugging me and I really need help - whilst on holiday friends and myself used my ipod photo to transfer photos off our digital cameras to free up memory cards (main reason I bought ipod photo)
Now when I try to transfer all the photos from ipod to my pc, we have found that some photos have jumped to other folders, but the worst problem is that some photos havent copied over at all.
I can still view them on the ipod though.
Each transfer from camera to ipod was done exactly the same and each photo has been took on the same settings.
I copied the first lot by just dragging them off the ipod on to pc. Then i tried Copy
Also why is it when the ipod is connected to pc by the docking unit that I cant view anything on the ipod display screen? Other than seeing that it is charging.
Im not too great with this sort of stuff, so could really do with a basic explanation!!
I feel awful for letting my friends down esp. as they took some really great shots
Thanks for any help of any kind!

  • How do I transfer photos from iPod to Airbook ?

how do I transfer photos from iPod to Airbook ?

The photos you synced to your iPod through iTunes are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnails of those photos.  So if you do manage to get them off your iPod, they will be quite small in size compared to the original ones you lost.
In order to get them off of your iPod, you'll need the help of some sort of 3rd party software. Here is one option.

If they did happen to be full resolution photos, see this Apple support document.

  • Lost photos on iPod during sync?

I have an iPod Gen6 (based on the photos & process of elimination) 8Gig, Version 1.2PC.  It was my replacement when the first gens were recalled/replaced.
When I went from a PC to an iMac about a year ago, somewhere along the line, a large number of older photos that were in my EasyShare on the PC ended up on my iPod.  I really am not sure how.  I have been trying to get them OFF the iPod and into iPhoto.  I researched and attempted to sync using the instructions I found for utilizing "enable disk usage" on the summary screen in iTunes for the iPod.
Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod - Apple Support
When I attempted to IMPORT nothing happened. When I tried EXPORT, it wanted to take the photos out of iPhoto and put them on the iPod, which was the opposite of what I wanted.  I performed a sync, choosing the option to sync to iPhoto.
What I got when I synced, was all the photos I had in iPhoto being exported to the iPod and all the photos that were on the iPod wiped away.
My husband is convinced that the photos that were on my iPod are SOMEWHERE in my iMac b/c they had to come from somewhere to be on my iPod. I'm not terribly Mac savvy but I am very careful to not "delete" or "move to trash" unless I'm sure of what I'm moving/deleting.  I found instructions regarding restoring an iPhone to a previous date, but the restore option for the iPod doesn't allow for a date, only factory settings.
The really weird part is, I would swear those same photos were IN iPhoto at one point but somewhere along the line they disappeared too!
Is there some way to find those photos or to restore the iPod back to a different date?  Yesterday would be OK.
I hope this question makes sense, I admit I'm pretty upset and frustrated.

Your new computer probably wiped out the photos while attempting to sync with the Nano since it did not see any of the photos on the Nano that are now on your computer. They were probably synced to your Nano in the first place during a normal sync to add music, etc., but it didn't add the full photo it added a thumbnail that can fit the tiny screen of the Nano. Even if you had been able to get them from the Nano they would have been the size of the Nano screen in iPhoto.
Can you not recover the originals from your PC?

  • Retrieve photos from iPod

Recently my MacBook's hard drive failed, and I lost all of my information...I now have a new computer, but still am missing my photos. However, they are all on my iPod. When I tried to plug it in and retrieve I was having trouble figuring out a way to import the photos back into iPhoto. If this is possible, I would love to know how to do it.

If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod
If not, there are a few programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:
Keith's iPod Photo Reader Mac only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
TouchCopy Mac and Windows Versions (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

  • How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!

How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!
When I first synced my iPod Touch with my laptop, it uploaded a lot of photos onto the iPod.  I now wish to delete those but it does not seem as a straight forward option!

For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • We have itunes music on a computer, an ipod nano, and a new ipod touch under two different accounts. How can we combine the music from both accounts to one device?

We have itunes music on a computer, an ipod nano, and a new ipod touch under two different accounts. How can we combine the music from both accounts to one device?

There is no "adding" a device.  Simply plug the iDevice into the computer.  iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

  • Ipod nano lost all songs- tried to restore and wont

Hi, I hope someone ca help me.
The ipod nano lost songs. when connected to itunes- all songs seemed to be able to be loaded onto the device- but once disconnected they were not there.
Then tried to restore (didn't need update) and it said that it wouldn't restore because ipod files are used by another application- (not that I am aware???)
I did the diagnostic test thing and it said:
    Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 24CD , PCI bus 0, device 29, function 7. WARNING: problem with device.
Obviously a problem with device.....Any clues- in very simple english- as I am a beginner- it took me hours to find this discussion forum!!!

"all songs seemed to be able to be loaded onto the device- but once disconnected they were not there."
This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.
