IPod nano no longer syncs with iTunes

Lately when I attempt to sync my 2nd generation nano to iTunes, the iPod will not show as being recognized and the software becomes unresponsive. I do get the "do not disconnect" message on the iPod, but I must disconnect because there is no other option. The moment I disconnect, iTunes says it cannot sync because a folder was not found. Can someone offer some assistance?
Thanks very much,
Scott

Yeah, I am having trouble with syncing my iPod as well. I get the following error message: "The pod 'My name' cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred [-48]" Anyone have this problem?

  • After restoring ipod nano it wont sync with itunes. states error 13019 occured

after restoring ipod nano it wont sync with itunes. states error 13019 occured

I seem to recall that another user has this problem and found that it was because of some corrupted music files they were trying to sync over.
Try syncing smaller bunches of tracks till you come upon the ones that cause the error. You should be able to find out which ones are causing the trouble this way.
The other user said they used something called MP3Diags. I cannot vouch for this software at all, I have never used it.
I did a quick search on "how to repair MP3 files on Mac" and also found this:

  • Ipod 30gb no longer syncing with itunes 8.0.1.11

I have a 30gb ipod video that is no longer syncing with itunes (8.0.1.11).
I had about 10gb of music on my iPod previously, when I hooked it up to iTunes to add more music to it, it deleted everything on my iPod and only synced about 500mb of new music. I've tried restoring my iPod as well as restarting my computer & iTunes and have had no luck adding any music to it.
I've scoured the iTune site for help as well as googled my issues and nothing has popped up.

It was a precursor to my G4 HD going south. Had to rebuild from scratch and it's fine.

  • Ipod nano does not sync with itunes library, ipod nano does not sync with itunes library

bought an ipod nano, upgraded Itunes to version 11 running on Windows 8.
My nano is set  up with a different apple ID than my main account, but it won't sync with my Itunes Library, When I plug it in via USB, the IPOD nano icon shows up in Itunes, but when I do File>Devices>Sync,  the Snyc is grayed out.
does the differenct apple ID on the nano have anything to do with the fact that it is different from my Itunes Apple ID, is that causing a problem? Most of the music in my library is uploads from CDs I had already owned, not Itunes purchases.
    Solutions?

Automatic syncing is set up on the iPod's Music tab in iTunes, which is where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits on iPod.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab.  For example (if you want to keep it simple), you can create a new playlist in iTunes and add all songs you want on the iPod to that playlist.  Back on the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.  There are many ways to set it up...
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs syncs to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create that playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs) whenever you want, and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity.

  • IPod Touch no longer syncing with iTunes?

    Mac OS X v10.4.11
    - all software up to date
    - iTunes 9.2.1 (5); no later updates available on this machine
    iPod Touch v3.1.3
This iPod Touch used to sync to iTunes just fine and dandy. Now it won't. I'm seeing that *now* in order to sync I have to upgrade (i.e. get a new mac) to v10.5?
    What gives?
Both used to sync fine and now they don't. Did Apple pull a fast one on me?

But my point is that one day it worked fine, and now it doesn't. Why would it stop working, if it once was supported? Did Apple push an update to my iPod which made it not supported by my machine? If so, that's pretty low.
If I buy a device and it works fine with my mac, it should stay working fine with my mac.

  • IPod Nano won't sync with iTunes on new laptop

When I first got my new laptop about a month ago I did the 'homesharing' technique to be able to use my iTunes on it, it worked successfully up until I tried to purchase new music from the iTunes Store & upload music into my Library from my laptop.. It just wouldn't sync onto my Nano! Every time I clicked the Sync tab nothing would happen even though the music had all been purchased/uploaded perfectly fine. I had ofcourse made sure my iTunes was 'activated' onto my new laptop, etc etc & when I went onto my old laptop to try it on there all the music DID sync onto my Nano.
Since then I've re-installed iTunes several times even copied my full iTunes folder onto an external USB stick & transferred it that way & still my Nano will not sync with my iTunes! The new iTunes isn't helping much either as I find it quite confusing to work out as it's totally different. But yeah even with the new iTunes upgrade my Nano still won't sync.
I'm at a loss, I've no idea what the problem is! Can anyone help?

  • IPod will no longer sync with iTunes

I started a thread before about how I could no longer sync the e-books I added to my iTunes account to my iPod touch. I'd found a workaround by e-mailing the books to myself and then opening them in iBooks on my iPod.
Now however I'm having the same issue with ALL THE CONTENT in my iTunes account. It still recognizes my device. I HAVE updated iTunes and my iOS (my iPod touch is 4th generation so I don't have/can't get iOS 7). I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes altogether. I have made sure the right boxes are clicked before syncing. It will go through the sync but the part where it says it is adding the files and shows them adding individually never happens. It just jumps to step 4 finishing and then when I check it never appears on my iPod. This is frustrating. What point is having an iPod if I can't USE it? It's basically a $200 paper weight. And YES I'm using the same apple ID, the same computer, etc. I've always used and I never had any problems before until a few months ago. It just stopped working. I've done most of the things suggested in all the other support threads I've read about similar issues and nothing has worked. Obviously lots of people are having this issue but from what I can tell the suggestions people are offering don't seem to help them.
So I guess I'm just putting this out there in the hopes that someone has a new idea to offer that will actually work? If not, does anybody wanna buy a 4th generation iPod touch?

I did restore from back-up as well. And I had thought of restoring my iPod to factory settings however...I just got my mother-in-law's old iPhone 3GS. Upon getting it from her I restored it to factory settings. After having the problems tonight syncing my iPod to iTunes I tried syncing the iPhone. It started out fine, showing it as a new device and setting it up. It shows both devices on my iTunes and then when I went to sync it I got the error message that none of the songs could be copied from my iTunes because they could not be found. But they all clearly show up in my iTunes. I had done this before when I was having the issue with my books and then I had deleted them all from iTunes and readded a few that I wanted to put on my iPod and it still wouldn't sync them. So I really don't want to take absolutely everything off my iPod and restore it to factory only to be unable to add anything from my iTunes ever again as is the case with the iPhone.

My iPad 2 will no longer Sync with iTunes on my computer.  It tells me to Restore which I don't want to do as I may lose valuable information from my iPad. My wife's iPad 2 and my ipod still Sync OK. How can I overcome this?

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.
