Ipod Nano - No sound comes out even when the volume is max
My ipod was working fine till yesterday and all of a sudden the its gone silent. Even at high volume no sound comes. I tried restart, restore and even formatted it. Please help.
Be sure that the headphone connector is completely seated.

The weird part about this is that it worked about an hour before this happened and then I unplugged it and it stopped. When ever I put in my earphones completely in the slot no sound comes out but when I put then in 3/4 of the wAy in they work fine
Have you tried another pair of headphones to rule out a problem with the headphones?
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.

Clean out/blow out the headphone jack. Insert/remove the heaphone plug a dozen times or so

Hi, I'm using a white iPhone 4s with 16gb memory and having some problems. Whenever I use earphones the sound will be heated when the volume is at the highest if I turn it down any lower all I hear is static. Can anyone help me with this problem as I would appreciate it much.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset. -
when i play music on my mini no sound comes out, so i push the volume button thinking it was turned down and it keeps saying headphones like headphones are connected and they are not even plugged in>
Hi Try a, reboot, press & hold power button & menu, button, hold both down until you see Apple Logo. Before you do Reboot, Sign out, of itunes on ipad then sign, back in this may help. Cheers Brian

the speaker of my macbook mutes all at a sudden for few seconds automatically and comes back even the speaker icon which is on top right side of the computer also shows mute at this point. and when the volume of the speaker is pressed at this moment it shows locked symbol of the speaker. Kindly help how to resolve this. I am not sure but recently I did install leopard to upgrade my computer does this effect the problem with my speaker.
This is all most unfortunate...from what I read in your post you have covered everything that can be done at your end....something is damaged on the Logic Board it sounds like...as to how much it would cost only the people that end repairing will know after it is diagnosed....take it in...tell them what you have found and tried so far...maybe that will help narrow down the problem...

My phone only vibrated when i have a call be no sound comes out .in the settings it produces sound when i choose a ring tone ! The silence button on the side would vibrate when turned on or off but this also no longer does this !

How can I make the music in my iPod nano (Gen 3), come out in mono?
When I hear certain songs, only part of the music comes out one earphone, and as my current set of earphones has a one that doesnt work, I cant listen to the complete song.

Are the charger nd cable original Apple parts or third-party? There have been a lot of problems ith third party cables and chargers since iOS 7 - checks for compatibility with Apple specs.
Try another charger and cable to see if that makes a difference. -
The volume is so loud and full of static even at low volume settings. I think the speaker might be blown. I had no volume for a couple of days the I powered it of let it set over night and turned it on the next day. Now the volume is super loud and I am afraid the speaker is blown or going to any time now. Is there an easy fix to this or do I have to send it in for repairs? I have only had this ipad since Christmas.

No sound comes out even though I see it moving the meters.
I hear no sound when playing existing songs or my guitar even though I see it moving the meters. And
I can hear sound fine when I pay iTunes songs. What has been muted?Check in your audio preferences, and make sure your audio interface is selected as the output for Logic.
Or if your uisng the computers built in audio, make sure that is selected as Logic's output device
