Ipod Nano pauses frequently mid-song for no apparent reason

Can any help me figure out why this is happening? My Ipod nano pauses on its own very often while I run. Anyone have any ideas what is making this occur?

Hi there,
You may want to check and see if the shake to shuffle feature is enabled. Take a look at the article below for more information.

My daughters iPod touch asks for her pass code but when she types it in the cursor does not move or input any characters so,she cannot get into the iPod. This has suddenly happened for no apparent reason, what can we do? Can anyone help please?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Stoe and sign out and then sign back in
    - Power off and then back on the router.
    - Reset networks settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
Could just be an Apple problem. So far I have seen another post today with same problem.

  • ITunes won't import/play certain songs for no apparent reason

I have certain songs that will not play or import into iTunes for no apparent reason. I've been able to play them in QuickTime, Zune and Windows Media Player but for some reason iTunes won't even acknowledge them. When I click on the MP3 file iTunes will load up but not do anything. I've tried everything and can't figure out the issue.
I had been able to upload the songs to iTunes in the past as well with no issues until one day iTunes just decided they didn't exist anymore.
I'm really at wits end right now because i'd like to upload these songs to my iPod but can't do that now. What could the problem be?

It's probably a problem with the ID tags associated with the files. You can run this free program to fix the tags and see if that makes the tracks usable:

  • My iphone 5 is skipping random songs for no apparent reason... ***??

songs bought on itunes. songs that played on my 4s yesterday... songs that for no apparent reason should be skipped or have problems at all... whats with the random music skipping issues on the 5???

I'm experiencing the same issue.  At first I thought it might be some new sport headset I purchased; maybe it wasn't making a good connection but it is also happening with the apple ear buds.  It seems to be worse when I first start playing.  Songs will strt then skip to another.  Sometimes several times, some times a couple.  Eventually it seems to start playing correctly.  I have not found a pattern that causes it or fixes it.  There is nothing wrong with the tracks that it is playing.
This is extremely frustrating as I can barely stand to listen to music on my iPhone 5 now.  Never had this issue with my 3GS.

  • My iPod nano skips some songs for no apparent reason

When i try to play songs on my iPod nano 7th gen, it skips some of them without playing.
The album art and track name shows up for a split-second and then it goes to the next track. Sometimes it skips several tracks by the same artist at a stretch. The songs the ipod keeps skipping play perfectly on iTunes. I tried erasing all the songs and sopying them again, but it didn't solve the problem. (I haven't tried restoring the ipod yet)

  • IPod updates a lot of songs with no apparent reason

Since today I've noticed that every time I plug my 5g 30GB iPod in, iTunes updates about 5GB of songs with no reason. I didn't touch the songs in the meantime.
I found somebody else with the same problem in the forums, but with no solution.
I don't use manual syncing, because I use a smart playlist to fill up my ipod and want my ratings and play count synched automatically also.
I didn't have this problem before.
Thank you in advance for any help, maybe it's a bug that Apple will soon fix.
    (I use the latest soft/firmware)
    Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I have had this problem many times too. The way to fix it is to delete the bad entry from ur itunes library, (not the actual file, just the itunes entry) then sync ur ipod. This will get the bad song off of the ipod. Disconnect the ipod. Re-add the song to ur library. Then re-sync ur ipod to rewrite the song to the ipod. Sometimes files get written badly to ipod. This is the way to correct the issue.

  • Itunes keeps re-uploading songs for no apparent reason

Almost every time that I sync my iPod there are 10 songs from an iTunes-purchased album that are reloaded into my iPod. They seem to be deleted and re-installed, but I can't see anything special about them. This happened with iPod 1.2 also.
Is there some flag or property that causes some songs to look new every time?

  • HT1296 My iPod touch had randomly stopped working for no apparent reason

I was playing a game on my iPod touch (got it about 3 months ago) and my mom came home from the grocery store so I put m iPod on the couch and went upstairs. I come back down 20-30 minutes later, My iPod's screen is black. Press the circle button. Nothing. Maybe it died. Walked upstairs to get the charger. Pulg it in. And NOTHING!! What do I do?!? I don't want to have to go and buy a new iPod!! >.< Should I got to a Apple Store? I'm at a panic!! That thing wakes me up in the morning, gives me internet and I use it as a phone too!! Someone please help me!!

If not successful try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

  • Nano resets to apple screen for no apparent reason

Has anyone else had this problem? It has happened to me twice in the last week. I will be shuffling through songs in a playlist and it will just shut off and go to the black apple screen. It will work fine after that, but I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks.

The thing that bugs me is that it does not happen all of the time. The reset I have seen mostly occurs in 'Playlist' so others seeing a similar issue in 'Music' shows this is mostly likely a software problem. Has anyone taken this up with someone at the Apple store?
I will rest it to factory settings tonight and discuss it with one of the makeup wearing dudes at my local Apple store tomorrow and report back.

  • My ipod nano pauses by itself 3 to 4 times per song..how can i fix it?

My ipod nano pauses by itself 3 to 4 time per song... i need help and information on getting it fix...please help

Make sure the headphones are plugged all the way in. The white part of the headset should be flush with the body of the Nano and no silver from the plug should still be seen.

  • 6th gen iPod Nano does not play songs

Today, for no apparent reason, my 6th gen iPod Nano has stopped playing songs. When I select a song, the Play button changes to a Pause button, just as it normally would if the song was playing, but the track does not play, and no time elapses on the song progress bar - it just remains at 0:00. If I fast forward through the song, the song progress bar remains at whatever time I advance it to. I've pressed Play/Pause repeatedly to try and get the songs to play, but nothing happens other than the Play/Pause icon toggling back and forth between playing and paused.
This happens when I try to play any song or podcast on the iPod. It was able to play every song as recently as yesterday. All of these songs and podcasts play just fine on iTunes and on any other iPod, iPhone or iPad that I sync them to.
I have restarted the Nano several times. I've also done a complete restore of the Nano from scratch. I've got the latest version of iTunes, and all of the other functionality works just fine on the Nano.
    Any thoughts?

Problem appears to be solved, thanks to the downtown Portland Apple Store Genius Bar. Apparently there was some sort of conflict with the permissions for the music (even though I own all of it, and all of the media played just fine on all of my other iOS devices).
To fix it, I went to the iTunes "Store" menu, chose "Deauthorize this computer" and followed the prompts. I then quit iTunes, restarted iTunes and double-clicked a TV show that I had purchased. This prompted me to re-authorize my computer, which I did.
I then synced a couple of songs, and they played just fine. I restored the rest of my playlists, and I'm happy to say that everything is behaving a-ok now. Phew!

  • My computer where my itunes library is stored is no longer accessible.  how can i add songs to my ipod nano without losing the songs already on it.

The computer where i have my itunes library is no longer accessible.  How can I add new songs to my  Ipod nano without losing the song already on it?

You will need that library copied from the old computer. If not, then you can take a look at this in getting 3rd party software to recover your library from the iPod. Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

  • Do I get a 1st gen ipod nano back when I send for a replacement?

Do I get a 1st gen ipod nano back when I send for a replacement? I have a black 2GB that I got from my grandfather for Christmas years ago. I want the same one(1st gen black 2GB) sent back. I didn't realize I had to send my original back until I was finished. I don't want a 6th gen, I have one already.

That's not good. I just sent mine back a few days ago. Great I want my 1st gen Nano back. I don't want a 6th gen, already have one. And that 1st gen was special. I thought I was getting a replacement. They better be willing to send back my 1st gen if I can't get a replacement 1st gen nano back.

  • Songs re-downloaded on iPod for no apparent reason when updating

I have a 30gb iPod Photo with the latest firmware and iTunes version. The problem is that whenever I plug in my iPod to update it, many songs that were already on my iPod are re-downloaded to my iPod for no apparent reason, thus lengthening the time it takes my iPod to update by quite a bit (sometimes it's a couple hundred songs that update). Why are these songs being re-downloaded to my iPod when I already had them on there? How can I keep this from happening? Thanks.

    Hi Jensen Gelfond,
If you change your iPod settings in iTunes to 'manualy manage songs' it will stop the auto update re-updating your songs.
