IPod Nano pauses unexpectedly

I just bought a new iPod Nano for my wife.
We have an iLive docking station for it as well.
I downloaded music and loaded it in some playlists, and while it is docked and playing it suddenly stops to proudly announce that the iPod is fully charged. Wife has to tell it to play again.
Is this a defect or a setting that can be adjusted so it doesn't stop playing?
We don't want it to pause.
Rick D.

This is a nano problem. My wife and daughter both have new 3rd Gen. nano's. I just bought the new Boston (Accoustics) Horizon Duo-i. I have been befuddled, baffled, bamboozled, and basically p-o’d!
The nano charges and plays music. Once charged it displays a full battery symbol and stops playing music. If you start to play it again, it takes a minute or two before it reaches the full charge again and turns off and tells me the battery is charged. I KNOW IT IS CHAGRED! JUST PLAY THE MUSIC!
I have read in customer support that the large battery icon shows while charging **"while in sleep mode." This is the display that I am getting while it is playing and stops. It appears that even though it is playing music, the nano thinks it is asleep. This fix is how to trick the nano into realizing that it is in fact, not asleep! Does anyone know how to do that?
I am posting this on the apple discussion board hoping someone can find a fix. If not, I am afraid I might have to try a Zune from Satan himself, Bill Gates.
Thanks, JBlum

  • Ipod Nano pauses frequently mid-song for no apparent reason

Can any help me figure out why this is happening? My Ipod nano pauses on its own very often while I run. Anyone have any ideas what is making this occur?

    Hi there,
You may want to check and see if the shake to shuffle feature is enabled. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • My ipod nano pauses by itself 3 to 4 times per song..how can i fix it?

My ipod nano pauses by itself 3 to 4 time per song... i need help and information on getting it fix...please help

Make sure the headphones are plugged all the way in. The white part of the headset should be flush with the body of the Nano and no silver from the plug should still be seen.

  • IPod nano had unexpected error syncing

    Hi
Yesterday whilst syncing my iPod Nano 5G with iTunes 10.3, I recieved an unexpected error message from iTunes telling me that nine files had corrupted and that my device needed to be restored. I have not restored the device yet but now whenever I connect my iPod to my PC windows asks me to scan the device for corrupted files and iTunes asks me to restore.
If I Restore the iPod will I lose the built in games that were on the device when I purchased it or any other important data which can't be retrieved afterwards?
    Thanks

Update: After again repeating the 5Rs (instead of re-install, downloaded latest version of iTunes which prompted for "repair" rather than "install"), a message asking me if I wanted to update my iPod software came up. I accepted, and following the install was able to sync without the "corrupted" message. Of course when the sync was finished, I tried to play my iPod and noticed that there was no music on it (so in fact the sync hadn't really worked). Since then, all I get when connecting the iPod is the "corrupted" message, even after another reset.
    Suggestions?

  • Ipod nano pauses connected to USB in car

My iPod Nano just started pausing every time I connect to the USB Connection in my car.  Works fine when not connected.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Hi aj,
Niel's hit on it with the posted article, but I must ask the obvious question: Why start it up with the nano connected at all? Do you have problems connecting after you boot up?

  • Ipod nano pauses even w/out earphones in

My IPod Nano 5th generation pauses itself even if no earphones are in;  if it pauses without the earphones I can't hear it w/out exiting the song and starting over.

Does this happen with every track or only certain tracks in particular?  Are you unplugging the headphones during playback of a track?
Have you tried a hard reset to see if that clears things up?  To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • IPod Nano pause function erratic

I've had my Nano for nearly three weeks now and I'm quite happy with it, no scratches, sound is great, just a gorgeous and well thought out device.
However, I've come really use the function of pausing the Nano by pulling out the earphone plug. For the most part, this does pause the player as advertised, but not always. I've done the reset thing to see if it would help, but it still occasionally plays on after I've removed the head phones.
Curious if anyone else has experienced this....

I just bought an ipod nano for my daughter's birthday 2 months ago and it has just started pausing itself. She has updated the OS to v 1.1, but that didn't seem to help. Any suggestions? Should we send it back?

  • Ipod nano pauses when I turn headphone

my iPod Nano 7th Gen is fairly new. recently if any headphone in it turns sharply to the right it pauses whenever it moves. i have tried this with 3 different headphones and it still does it. it is very annoying when you put it in your pocket and it just pauses. is there anything i can do, or do i have to get a new one?

Just to be sure I would get it serviced.

  • Nano pausing shortly between titles - help?

When playing MP3 titles of a oomplete album, my iPod nano pauses shortly (0,2 sec? 0,5 sec?) between subsequent titles. This is very annoying when listening to concept albums where the titles should be directly connected...
How can I avoid this short interruption?

No, I am not talking about crossfading.
I just want a "zero point zero seconds" pause between titles like any CD-player would directly play titles of the same album one after another.
iTunes can do this, Windows Mediaplayer can do this, any plain old CD-player can do this - I suppose iPod should be able as well? Mine doesn't up to now

  • My Radio on my Nano won't pick up a signal.. I cennected my headphones and am in the middle of the city. Also my iPod keeps pausing every like 30 seconds.. What do I do?

My Radio on my Nano won't pick up a signal.. I cennected my headphones and am in the middle of the city, so there are plenty of stations to find. Also my iPod keeps pausing every like 30 seconds when I try to listen to my music. I just got it for Christmas and already loaded it with songs.. What do I do?

Push the headphone jack all the way in, you don't have it fully plugged in yet.

  • Ipod nano randomly turns on, pauses music & won't stay off

I got an iPod Nano 6th(?) Gen in August. It didn't get used for another month - loaded it with tunes in September. After about a month of intermittent use, it started to randomly pause music without touching it in any way. I also noticed that, even though the iPod wasn't being used daily, it rarely had enough charge to play for more than an hour. After paying close attention one day after turning it off, it just jumped back on without my touching it.  Disturbing to say the least - brand new gift, hardly used and not working right after only a couple months.
It was suggested by online and telephone support that the iPod be reset by holding down the keys; then reset, wiped clean and reloaded in iTunes (phone support).  Neither of these fixes worked.  Very upsetting.
In November I filled out a service request and sent my Nano back via UPS.  I am beyond livid at this point as #1 - their tracking page tells you nothing #2 - I almost didn't get my iPod back as they never notified me it was shipped via FedEx requiring someone to be home to sign for it(!) and #3 - my device was denied repair/replacement because they're saying that the LCI (liquid contact indicator) was pink, indicating that my iPod had been submerged in liquid causing the internal damage.  I was told that I had to bring it to an authorized Apple place and they could replace it for me for $65 which is about half of what my husband paid for the thing.
Um, unless this spill or submersion happened right before they sealed it in the box it never got wet.  I think this touch-Nano is defective from the posts seen here and Apple is looking for a way to not replace/repair at their cost.  Maybe their LCI is hypersensitive?? I might have breathed on it or maybe it couldn't take the humidity in August when it was given to me... If a device is to be sold for use by the average, active person (it has a pedometer for Criminy's sake) maybe it shoudn't be so sensitive to "wetness".

Call Apple Customer Relations-1800-767-2775.  Explain to them exactly what you stated in your post.
     Good luck!

  • My ipod nano 6th generation does not start on pressing the sleep/pause button  or pressing both sound low and sleep pause button.it starts while connected to power it is fully charges

  • Why does my  Gen 7 ipod nano keep pausing?

I've owned a Gen 7 iPod nano for a month now as a go-to MP3 player for work (we can't use our phones to listen to music due to cell phone abuse that's happened). Everything seemed fine until about 2-3 weeks ago I found that my music kept spontaneously pausing. Ok so I figured that maybe I hit the button on the side so I used the remote on my earbuds to continue playing. Another slight move and the thing pauses again. I quickly discovered that the slightest movement of the earbud jack triggers this thing to pause the music.
I then thought it was the headphones and perhaps the remote causing it to glitch. So I went and bought a cheap basic pair of earbuds (Sennheisers) without the remote only to find that the pausing is still going on. I've cleaned out the jack numerous times and it is still doing it. Any idea why this is happening? Seems like this is a known issue as I've seen that others ran into this. Why would Apple continue to let faulty product to be sold? For $140, I would have expected this to last longer, now thinking I should have stuck with a cheapo MP3 player from Walmart as it would have probably lasted longer
Are there any fixes to this or should I retire this practically new 'pod (and get my hard-earned cash back) and move onto something better? I'm now kind of weary of buying Apple devices if this is the kind of performance I'm going to get from it.
